What Do Women Think Of Gold Watches

Do you think a fake gold watch is tacky?

That particular watch is tacky and looks cheap. Look at classic styles from Seiko on Amazon.

A very quick introduction to watches and then, below, some suggestions:

Watch lovers love mechanical watches. Mechanical watches are anachronistic; quartz watches are much more accurate and much less expensive. Good mechanical watches can cost tens of thousands of dollars but are intended to last decades or longer. Patek Philippe, Rolex, and others make watches at this level.

Most people do not want such an expensive watch, and watches in the $30+ range are accurate and reliable. (Timex makes watches at this level.)

For a bit more, you can choose a watch with better finishing details and have more options (style-wise). If you're willing to spend up to $200 or so you can choose from innumerable styles of quartz watches that will be well-made and reliable. Watches at this level will be steel and, if you wish, gold-plated. Seiko and many others make watches at this level.

(In between extremely good mechanical watches and $200 watches are quartz watches made by serious watch companies that also make mechanical watches. These watches are made of gold so they cost quite a bit more than $200, and their finishing detail is usually very well done. Watches in this range might cost from $1,200 to $15,000+. Baume et Mercier and many others make watches at this level.)

For your first watch, look at Seiko, among others. They make many different styles, their quality is good, and you'll be happy with one as your first.

Are gold watches tacky?

A lot of ink has been spilled on the topic of gold watches. For this answer, I will rather focus on yellow gold as pink and white gold are found in some of the most exquisite and refined pieces and no one will argue about that.It is true that yellow gold watches carry some sort of bling around them. But you can still look very elegant wearing one, it all depends on the watch and the way it is worn. While having only worn steel watches for many years, I am now looking for something different than what I currently own. Actually quite the opposite. A vintage Rolex Day-Date 1803 in full yellow gold!Let me explain what draw me to that particular watch! As I was writing above, I am looking for a watch that would add something to my current collection which can be seen as very classical. A gold watch is definitely an option! While there is definitely a lot of gold between the case and the bracelet, I find the watch pretty much discreet as it is only has a 36 mm diameter. It will easily hide under your sleeve and add a little of color when it pops out! Those watches also carry a fifties vibe at a time where men were very elegantly dressed and gold watches were popular. I’m sure this style will make a comeback (and those watches too)! They aren’t that expensive for the moment, I clearly see an opportunity here. The most important thing however, is to adjust properly your bracelet. The last thing you’d want is to look like that:Also please avoid two-tones watches, I know they are quite popular in some regions but for me it’s an absolute no go and they offer a poor resale value. The market is always right!

Are rose gold Micheal Kors watches a women color?

I'm really interested in buying a watch on Amazon. It's a Micheal Kors rose gold watch for men, but some guys think that rose gold is a girly color. What do you think? I wanna look fresh with the new watch I get, if its not a shinny gold then I won't get it. Here's the link to the rose gold watch http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00945C974/ref=aw_1st_sims_1?pi=SY115

Okay, now here's the link to the actual gold one. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B002R0SV6G/ref=aw_1st_sims_2?pi=SS115

So which one do you think looks better and more classy? And manly.

Is a gold watch tacky (for men)?

Seiko is a classic watch and I think that in this particular case, it is not tacky.

Will fake gold watches turn your wrist green?

Yes they will. Worse yet, many will turn your wrist red. Fake Rolex use hex covalent chromium to make them look shiny. It is very very toxic.I do not know what material they use to simulate gold, but I do know it wears off quickly.

They are very toxic. Do not think so. Just buy a toxic metal test kit, and a fake watch and try it.

They have to use the cheapest materials. Cheap usually means toxic.

Keep in mind that fake watches wholesale for about $20. I do not care if the dealer says it is a "grade AA replica", and asks $900 it still cost him only $20. It contains no gold even if he says, "gold wrapped", "gold dipped", or whatever. Even if he says it is made of Surgical stainless it is still made of low grade brass plated with chrome, and the movement is made of pot metal. Even if he says it is made in Switzerland, or has a Swiss movement, he is a liar.

Almost all fake watches are made by the Xin Jin watch foundry in Hunan province China.

A fake watch will not last six months, and is pretty easy for a watch collector to spot. You will fool nobody. Good fake watches are just the stuff of movies and TV.

Difference between men's and women's watches?

The difference is very simple. Men's watches are bigger and wider

example: http://www.goldwatches.com/watch.asp?Item=2309 .

Where as women's watches are smaller and more petite example: http://www.goldwatches.com/watch.asp?Item=2290 .

However there are many women and men that opt for the others watch style and that is where Unisex watches come into place (A mix of both).

Does Raymond Weil make a solid gold watch (men's or women's)?

Re-reding my question and for the sake of not wasting time, I'm going to say what I mean is solid gold'] as opposed to gold plated. I know that most jewelry (especially watches) is not pure (24k) gold.

Is there a significance to women wearing BIG wristwatches?

Larger-faced, menswear-inspired watches are definitely a trend that have shown some longevity season after season.  To your question, the popularity of this type of watch is due to "fashion," but it's also important to understand the various fashion elements involved that have propelled this trend forward.Feminine/Masculine: Accessories like a menswear watch can toughen up an otherwise prim outfit.  This lends a sense of individuality when interpreting a trend or style.Texture: A large bracelet-style steel band adds texture to an outfit more so than small, subtle watches do.  For instance, a large two-toned gold and silver watch with a mother-of-pearl face lends luminosity.  These bits of "shine" increase visual interest without being too overt.  In general, texture is another way to add visual interest in addition to color.  For example, you can wear all black, but have the outfit comprised of leather, silk chiffon, denim, cotton jersey, fur, loose-knit wool, etc.  These are all ways to play with texture to add depth, and a big steel watch does this too.Proportions: Having only delicate jewelry or only chunky jewelry can look contrived.  Mixing up the look with a big watch on one wrist and nothing else, or a few delicate rings or bracelets on the other hand make for a more sophisticated and effortlessly cool look.Statement: A large watch is a statement piece that works much like a cocktail ring to add a focal piece to an outfit.  It is a way for a girl to show that she is confident enough to wear a huge watch that draws attention.Versatile: A large watch can be worn daily to either dress up or dress down an ensemble.  With a simple sheath dress, it lends an air of masculine to an otherwise feminine outfit.  With a t-shirt and skinny jeans, it elevates the outfit to appear more polished and luxe, instead of sloppy.  Essentially, it's a low-effort way to make an outfit seem more special.Accessible: A large steel watch is edgy but accessible, meaning that it's a fairly easy way to spice up an outfit within stepping too far out of an "average" woman's comfort zone in terms of exploring fashion.  Certain items are "tricky," i.e. difficult to pull off or unflattering for most bodies.  Examples include jumpsuits and bandage dresses -- both require a certain type of figure to appear flattering.  On the other hand, it's easier to find a large watch that is flattering and fits well.
