What Do You Call Things That Aren

Why am I seeing things that aren't really there?

An amateur Q&A site will not be able to answer this for you.You might get lucky and hear from a doctor here, but even that will just be his or her medical opinion.I am not a doctor and can't offer you any medical advice. However, seeing things that aren't there is not normal, and you should definitely talk to a doctor to try and figure out what's up. Hallucinations can be a sign of serious medical problems, both physical and mental.First of all, if you feel threatened, depressed, overly stressed, or suicidal, please contact a medical professional right away. Don't give in to despair; get help. Call a hotline, visit the ER, reach out to a psychologist, enlist your closest friend, whatever you need to do to get help right away. If you are feeling mostly OK, you should still plan to have a medical evaluation. Again, seeing things that aren't there is not normal, and can be a sign that something is wrong.Start a hallucination diary. Take note of:the date, the time of the hallucination, what you are seeing, where you are when it happens, how long it lasts, how you are feeling before it starts, how you are feeling afterward, whether you have a physical reaction to it,whether anything that you did made it start, whether anything you do makes it go away, or any other relevant information.Once you have recorded this information for at least a week, contact a medical professional. A record of your experiences will help them to figure out what's going on with you, and prescribe a solution that might help your unique situation. Best wishes.

What do you call those things that hold books?

They generally are called book stands, sometimes dictionary stands.

Sometimes things we would ordinarily call lecterns or podiums are also used for the function about which you are asking, though technically they are both used as a place for a speaker to rest his notes. Lectern traditionally had a religious connotation though that has changed somewhat through the years.

I'm sorry if this is not quite what you were looking for.

***Edit) I'm sorry, I just saw your picture. Those are called book rests, book holders book stands, or, sometimes, copy stands, though that brings up photo equipment in searchs.
I can't find a picture of one just like that right now, which bugs me because I know I've seen one.

I hope this helps a little more.

What does it mean when you're seeing things that aren't there?

Okay lately I've been seeing weird things like things that I know aren't there. Like once I woke up around 12 am and thought I saw this spider on my wall and then it vanished and was like gone. And sometimes I think I see shadows and stuff but there's nothing to make the shadows and it just disappears. And now like im in my house all alone and like I keep seeing a shape peeking around the corner in my periphreal (sp?) vision and when I turn it's gone and when I go check nothings there. And I don't know what to do. I'm 14 so my mind shouldn't be going bad. And like I know my grandma has a bunch of mental illnesses but I don't want to be diagnosed as going crazy since everything I see looks very real at the time. Help. Please.

What would you call the things that attach to your glasses frames and wrap around your neck, so you can take your glasses off and wear them around your neck when you aren't using them?

What do you call a person who always assumes things?

If it's a person who assumes things about other people in a quick, condescending fashion, they are pretentious. If they assume that others are up to no good and assume the worst motives in others, they are conceited. If they just tend to assume things in general and jump to conclusions before thinking things through, they are presumptuous. If they assume something they heard is true without questioning or considering, they are gullible.

What do you call that thing around muffins and cupcakes?
