What Do You Do When You Know Someone That Tried To Choke Somebody

What would happen if someone choked you? Would you die or sleep?

Choking is a process. It takes several minutes for a person to even lose consciousness while being strangled, and even more time for them to actually die. At some point during this process, they will begin to flail wildly, which will also injure their assailant. Remember that, if you are being strangled, your brain is being deprived of much needed oxygen.Initially, you will find that the person being strangled is coherent, and fully capable of fighting back. Given a couple of minutes, however, their body will go into a frenzy and they will begin to spasm. The fighting becomes aimless flailing as their brain is deprived of oxygen. Over time, the flailing will die down. This happens as they lose consciousness. Essentially, they are going into a coma. It actually takes a while for someone to die of oxygen deprivation, but before that, a coma does occur. So, if someone chokes you, you'll experience a lot of pain and instinctual fighting. You will not fall asleep. However, before actually dying, you will fall into a coma. Given that your assailant is careless enough, they will leave you during that time period, and you will eventually regain consciousness due to your oxygen having been restored.

My mother tried to choke me!?

My mother grabbed my neck and choked me and said if I didn't do what she said, she would stomp me on the floor. This isn't the first time she's done this. She's does it actually quite often. One time she also pounded her fists on my back and told me to fight her. She constantly calls me names and verbally abuses me. One time we got into a fight and she threw me into the wall. Idk what to do..I'm adopted so if she wants to she can send me to juvi anytime she wants. Please help!

Can you go to jail for not helping someone when their choking?

Ok as a teacher of 1st Aid in Australia.

I can tell you that if you come accross some one who is injured or choking, unconscious or not breathing and you are qualified in 1st Aid, you are NOT obligated to assist in 1st Aid, UNLESS you are designated 1st Aid officer.

How ever if you start to intervene in a 1st Aid situation, you MUST follow through with treatment etc until emergency services arrives, eg Doctor or Ambulance.

You must make sure your intentions are clear to casuality and bystanders, (what your doing or going to do).

If you are doing CPR (Cardio Pulmonary Resusitation) you must continue to do CPR, untill emergency services arrives, and takes over or your told that the casuality has deceased (died).

The only time you can stop doing CPR is if you can not physically continue, due to YOUR become fatigued or breathless/dizzy. If this was to happen, you must make sure that you say loud and clearly for any bystanders etc, that you can not continue. NEVER become a casuality your self.

Self presivation to: Yourself
Bystanders
Casuality
Always in this order.

If you have done every thing with in your power to assist some in a 1st Aid situation, and you have followed the guidelines of 1st Aid then it will be very difficult to sue some one for assisting.
I not sure but I beleive this to be that same in other countries.

To date no person has been sued for assisting some who is ill/injured in Australia, if they (the rescuer) have followed the guidelines of 1st Aid.

When should you stop choking someone in a fight if you just want them to pass out?

First of all, choking isn’t safe. The air pipes of the neck are fragile and can break quite easily. What you are thinking of is a blood choke, which is properly called strangulation. It’s also not safe, but is safer and faster than trying to cut off someone’s breathing without permanently injuring or murdering them.People get weak before they pass out completely. At this point it is safe to release them and run, or put yourself in a superior enough position so as to end the fight. Someone who is strangled into submission is quite easy to subdue by kneeling on their upper body with your legs pinning their arms to their sides and threatening their head with punch or anything else.If someone begins to change color, call 911 immediately. Imagine the American flag. First they turn red as they’re swelled with blood. Then white as they lose oxygen and then blue … as the blood deoxygenates as well. At that point they’re getting brain damage and will just never really be the same.Man but Quora is violent. Why do you people want to hurt each other so much?

Choking somebody out in a headlock...........?

SERIOUSLY, the answers on here. It is only safe if performed by someone who knows how to safely complete the technique. There is a major difference between cutting off blood supply versus cutting off oxygen or even crushing a trachea and where and how to submit the pressure.

No, if you haven't been professionally taught how to choke someone out, don't even try it because if you do it wrong, you're going to jail.

Is it assault to put somebody in a guillotine choke?

Yes, it would be assault, since you'd cause them physical harm.

Is it possible to choke someone to death with a choke hold before releasing them in time to let them out?

Yes it can happen.

There are several factor involved though:

-how long the choke is applied
-the pre-existing condition of the person being choked
-what happens after the choke

etc...

It should be mentioned though that there are two different types of chokes:

-Asphyxiation
-Strangulation

Both cause a lack of oxygen to the brain through different methods. A person can lose consciousness by limited blood flow to the brain or limited oxygen intake.

Everytime I get someone in a choke I listen and watch for clues to make sure they are still awake. Hopefully they tap first.

I have actually choked people out during sparring when they did not tap in time. This is why your instructor (and you) should always be safety cautious.

When I'm being choked, I tap when my vision becomes blurred because i know I only have a couple seconds left at that point (if that).

Hope this helps!
