What Do You Fear The Most

What do you fear the most in your life?

Losing my mind. Seriously. Happened to my aunt.

What do you fear the most this year?

To lose the one I love .

What do you fear the most about life?

The fear of being forgotten. That no one will remember me.I’ve striven to have an impact in the lives of people I know, but I think I’ve been forgotten by those guys. We, as human beings, want to be remembered. Through our actions, through our deeds, and through the people we know. Being forgotten doesn’t bode well with many people.More recently, I also suffer from a fear of failure. That I’ll fail before I even begin a new endeavor. This is a fear that I need to tackle in the coming future. Owing to a few circumstances over the past, I’ve begun fearing the result before I even try. Before starting a new activity, the first thought that comes in my mind is, “What if I fail?”. I’ve already failed before I even began, and hence, I never tried. We stop growing in life the moment we begin to think about failure. Fear of failure halts our progress. It is a bad train of thought. And it is a fear one has to tackle a few times in life.

How do I know what I fear the most?

I think it is quite easy to find out what you fear the most, it usually happens at a very early stage in life when you don't like something or are told by parents/friends that something is to be feared. Like say for example, when you were young, you saw someone get bitten by a snake and scream in pain, automatically you start fearing a snake.       It can also happen that you met with an accident or an incident which left a deep scar on your mind. Like, I am afraid of heights, standing on a cliff would give me goosebumps, because when I was a kid, I was pushed into a swimming pool by my instructor from the first floor.        Remember those times in school when you were told by a senior that a particular teacher is very strict and should be feared by all because she beats you on the knuckles with a scale and expects no mischief from the class. Now, you start fearing this teacher just because someone told you so.      So, basically, to answer your question, you fear something when you have a bad memory associated with it or are told by others over the years that it should be feared.          This is no definition of fear, just ways of how to find out your biggest fear in life, or how you start fearing things. It is not exhaustive.     Thanks for the A2A

A question about Fear?

I agree, unless it's a chainsaw wielding psycho, that would scare me more.

What do you fear the most? How did you overcome that fear?

Public Speaking !One of my biggest fears is to speak to public in a large. I can’t forget my first presentation, I had to practice a lot.I remembered all points around the beginning and end of the talk. Also made sure I was extra on some points for these and had some good jokes to begin and end with. But most importantly I made sure that I sincerely rehearsed the important parts time and again before the big day.So the day finally came. I was pretty nervous, my legs shaking and I felt like running back from the backstage but did a good job.How did you over come your fear? For me this is the interesting part!!!Just before I knew it was my turn for presentation my heart started racing, I started sweating and all the usual things…..Oh no I thought! But I told myself that fear was only a thought, there is nothing to fear. And did the usual breathing techniques for about 90-120 seconds and drank two full glasses of water.Wow that feeling — physically I was RESET and READY to go!RESULT!!!I did the presentation, got some laughs and a great response from the panel and audience as well.I couldn't have been happier if had missed the presentation that day.

Whom do you fear the most?

New age ultra-feminists.Well, this fear developed over the time and increased exponentially with every such encounter. My first encounter was in my college. She was an average looking and nothing so exciting about kind of girl. However, the moment you try to talk to her, you are sure to get a kind of lecture on any damn topic on the earth circling women empowerment. This incident started with a mere request for proxy attendance for another friend. I ended up listening “Why do boys always think that they can ask anything to a girl and end up getting it?” My reaction - “ What the f**k was that. How come men and women come to this conversation :p”. Well, by the end of the college’s 4 years, this lady got herself, 4 boyfriends. And all of course rich fellows, footing her day to day finances, mobile bills, food bills and other entertainment bills. But still, she liked to be called a feminist. The second encounter was not that far. It was in the office. There was a girl, who had to travel for 40 mins to reach office and change 2 autos. I cannot say how many times have I heard these excuses for being in the office 2 hours late. And once my manager asked her to stay late till the deployment (around 10 pm night). Her answer was - “Can you guarantee my safety at night in the office and outside? If something happens to me while going back, I will report your name to the cops.” Of course, the manager went into backfoot. During the annual appraisal, when she was given a lower rating, she made a big hell noise with the HR and other senior officials that, “Men do not let the women grow in corporate jobs in India.” She used the magic wand of women empowerment to her benefit in every situation in her life. This was just a small example of that. These are just 2 examples. I do see them almost every other day, especially in India. These pseudo-feminists are the reason I simply run away from everyone who claims to be a feminist. I wish these kinds of people should experience the oppression once which in reality happens to some women to understand what it takes to actually fight for women rights and talk about real feminism. Probably that's the best solution.

What animal or insect do you fear?

Roaches, Snakes most of all. I also fear dogs that I don't know or don't know me. When I was younger around 7 or 8 my sister and I was walking when we were and out of no where came this dog out of no where and bit her on the leg. She had to have around 100 stitches inside and out, and she still has the scar of it to this day.
