What Do You Like And Dislike About Dogs

Do you LIKE dogs? Or do you HATE/DISLIKE dogs?

I had to have my dog euthanized a few months ago; he'd been my constant companion for 10 years.

I'm 66 years old and I cried as I held him while the vet administered the needles.

Why do you like or dislike big dogs?

I love big dogs, and I’m not really sure why. I think part of it is the idea that they can jump on me and get my entire face wet with one lick of its tongue. For some reason that concept makes me so happy. I like that big dogs can be just as sweet and loving as a small dog, but with so much more power. It’s like they’re gentle giants! I especially like Great Danes, St. Bernards, and Newfoundlands, because of this. They’re huge sweethearts, and it’s so cute to me!What I don’t like is that big breeds have a lot of inherent health problems that we pretty much made them to have, such as hip dysplasia and some cancers. It’s unfortunate that the way we bred these breeds has naturally ruined their health. I wish we could have the best of both worlds—I wish we could have big breeds with good health. Maybe we can!

Do you like or dislike medium sized dogs?

Do Middle Eastern people dislike pet dogs?

I have some Middle Eastern customers (Indian / Pakistani?) and I see them often. We have a great rapport and I very much enjoy their friendly nature.
I had to put my dog to sleep and the next day I was telling these customers about it. They were completely numb.
It seemed as though they couldn't understand my grief. They said absolutely nothing in the form of condolence, and it felt as if they thought I was a bit looney.
Any ideas as to why they acted this way?
