What Do You Miss The Most About The 1990

What do you miss most about the '90s?

I think lot of people miss cheap gas.

Do you miss the '80s and '90s? If so, why, and what do you miss about them?

Ohhhh man i miss the 80′s and 90′s with a passion. I was born in 1980 so being a kid in the 80's and a teenager in the 90's i had the best of both worlds. I also have 3 younger brothers all born between 82 and 90 and we had a blast growing up. Back in those days kids played outside all day everyday. The cartoons like GI Joe, DuckTales, Thundercats, Ren n Stimpy, Beavis and Butthead etc….kids played with toys and not ipads. Playing sports, riding bikes and skateboards, building forts is what we did back then. How can we forget the golden age of gaming with the OG Nintendo, SNES and Sega Genesis!! Anyone up for a game of Zelda or MegaMan?? People had social skills too, not like today where people can only comminicate through a device and go into full retard mode if they have to talk face to face. My life today is cool but i miss they way things used to be and sadly it will never come back. The pace we have been moving the last decade seems impossible to stop. The world needs to slow down a bit but thats just my opinion. Peace!!!

What do you miss most about the 1990s?

I was a teen in the 1990s. Most of what I miss is more about me being a teenager then, and less about what was going on in the world then: having lots of free time, being excited about things that I consider mundane now, feeling rich when I got my first paycheck, which was about $150 .I miss the music. I’m sure it’s very common for people to feel that the music of their teens was the best, and what came after was sub-par. I’m no different. I miss bands like Nirvana and Pearl Jam and Garbage and the Gin Blossoms… I miss when that kind of music was on the radio all of the time, and their videos were on MTV.I’m not sure if music changed in the early 2000s, or I just matured, but whatever the reason, my interest in “popular” music waned considerably between 2000–2005. I’ll listen to some Lady Gaga when I’m working out, or maybe some Taylor Swift when I just need some background noise while I do other things, but I’m not really “into” their music the way I was the ’90s alternative scene.

What do you miss most about 1990s England?

Hong Kong!! :'(Basically we owned Hong Kong at that time and they went back to china in 1998, I think. They said themselves, though, that it was a mistake going back to china. They should've stayed indipendent.Anyway that's a joke, haha.Probably our borders, that is, before Tony Blair came as prime minister in 1997 and opened them all up. This opened Britain to a world of immigrants. I miss when the borders were closed, basically. I was born in 1990 so I wasn't really old enough to notice the few English but when I was in my teens, I did notice a significant rise of immigrants. Of course, we are not the country with the most immigrants in Europe, that award goes to Germany. The get a lot more immigrants, most of them are Romanians and Turks.England has changed a lot since 1990.

What do you miss most from Chennai of 90s?

This one :(Image from random Google search. I guess image is from another Quora answer)It was way too common in my childhood and every time I used to catch cold once I eat few of them. Yes few always !!Another thing is soil in every road (people building houses used to have soil in roads which we as kids could play on). Now a days not many have soil this way nor allow kids to play on (are the kids keen to play in soil these days?? Am doubtful)— after many days today saw soil on road.. no kids to play !! Ohh what is the use of soil on road of there were no kids to play !! “Toy story” moments !!Thanks for the upvotes.. though very few in numbers, it's quite good to see :)

What year in the 2000s do you miss the most?

I miss 2000, because I always liked all the zeroes in it, and I thought 2002 was a good year for music and tv. Nickelodeon hadn't gone down the toilet yet, and I still had a childhood and no major worries. Now, as far as 2009 goes...

What are the things you miss most from the 90's? How was life at that time?

One of the many things I miss from the 90s growing up as a middle class Indian, when Satellite /cable TV was still in nascency is the shear joy of entire family getting together to watch the national (and only) channel.Be it the prime time news for an hour, followed by some "content" rich sitcoms and who can forget the wait for the weekly movie featured on Sunday evenings.Since majority of Indian homes used to get TV reception through "Antennas" (not Dish) fixed on terraces,Image - Source GoogleSometimes due to windy or rainy conditions the signal would be distorted and usually dad would climb upstairs to adjust the direction of antenna, mom would sit near the TV and we kids would complete the communication "channel" between Mom and Dad in order to "tune" the TV signal. On days and nights when there used to be power outages ( and it was very common in those days) neighbors would come out and talk about whatever is going on in the country in general (cricket, politics ...)I still remember in those days whenever any important personality ( typically politicians) would pass away, the National TV would observe a week's "mourning" playing only news and some classical music. on sunday afternoons there even used to be a special news bulletin for differently abled viewers and followed by regional language films from various states of the country. Being a north Indian, and not well versed with languages of the east, west or south we used to wait several months for a repeat of our language's film " Punjabi".weekdays typically on those days used to be mon- sat and weekend was an alien concept saved by a solitary Sunday and occasional half- Saturdays, typically spent outside playing street cricket, football or a host of Indian games.Sunday mornings used to be sacred, when mom would typically serve a special Sunday breakfast enjoyed over an hour of hindi film music show called " Rangoli" ,followed by epic serials like Ramayana, Mahabharata, Sri Krishna and you would be lucky to find a soul on streets as every family would be huddled inside homes during those morning hours. After these serials, came the turn of kids cartoons - Donald duck, jungle book, Tom N Jerry ....sk kids could have there fair share of fun before dredgingly sent back to do finish homework or study for (yet another) unit test or exam at school.Do I miss that era when only thing you could do with a remote was on/off and change volume ....well ....hell yes !!!
