How do I start an NGO and what are the legal procedures for its registration?

You can register your NGO in any of the 3 ways.1. Under a Trust(Indian Trust Act): it is the simplest process. You need a minimum of 3 persons. (San be from same state). Here it will be registered in the Sub-Registrar office of your area It has a National validity.2. Under the Society Registration: Here you need 6 minimum people from different states. Will be registered in same place as mentioned above.3. Under a NFP Section 25 Company under Companies act. It need minimum of 2-3 Directors. It is a lengthy process and expensive too. It is registered under the Companies Act.After you register your NGO in any one of the aforesaid ways, then you are a legalised NGO. You have to make your objectives clear in the registration documents.The next process includes Applying for a Pan card.Once you have the Pan card and the registration then you can open a bank account.After 2-3 years of work you can apply for Income tax exemption and also Sec 80G certificate from the IT so that the donations made to your NGO are tax free.So here is the entire process. Just register now. And work hard for the section you feel the most. People need us. In a capitalist dominant country a NGO is the lungs for the marginalized and poor. The need us. Are employee wellness programs necessary or nice to have?

I would agree with Darko Atanasov that in reality nothing is necessary but with growing healthcare costs and obesity rates, employee wellness programs are becoming a "need to have" rather than just a "nice to have".  Employee wellness has grown significantly, even from when you posted this question just a little over a year ago.  Indications for growth range from consumer demand for wearable devices aimed at increasing activity to the growing number of vendors eager to help employers with employee wellness. I work for http://wellable.co/, an employee wellness challenges company, and speak to employers all the time. When asking employers why they are looking at employee wellness, I typically get a combination of the four answers below:1) Employees are asking for a wellness program.2) Employers want to lower insurance costs. 3) Employers want to leverage employee wellness perks for talent acquisition or PR purposes. 4) Employers want to drive engagement/community in the workplace. Ironically, none of these reasons really cut to the core of why employee wellness programs are needed.  Granted these reasons are valid from a company/employer perspective,  they pale in comparison to the alarming healthcare issues we are struggling with, which are the true drivers!  The kicker, in my opinion, is that a lot of these healthcare issues are actually preventable if people could just be active and eat healthy. (Way easier said than done, obviously)Bottom-line: Employee wellness programs are needed. People spend majority of their time at work where they should have the opportunity to really make changes and the right choices in their lives. Employers can help provide the resources needed to make these changes. Healthier employees are happier employees, happier employees tend to be more engaged, and engaged employees tend to be more productive. BAM!
