What do you guys think of my new remix of Something Just Like This by The Chainsmokers and Coldplay?

I've been using soundcloud for years, my earlier days were more about uploading tunes rather than casual listening. My froends used to be really good at making dubstep. Me personally, I didn't have a whole lot of works I'm honored to have, made but it was years ago. But I played flute in wind ensemble for years. I studied music theory, and am quite versed in modern tastes. So as far as your tune, I like the mood of the synths and the atmosphere. Here are my suggested edits.DYNAMICS. The variation in high and low is essential to a good tune. You must create surges of musical sensation through the volume and keys of the melody. I think it was at the second chorus (1:55) when I thought the song was gonna crescendo into a peak of thrill, but was a bit disappointed as it did not.So what you could do is either pick the 2nd or (preferably) 3rd chorus and build up to it. You could slow the vocals down or cut the meter down in half (go from 4/4 to 2/2 or 1/2). Drop the volume down too and gradually raise it.2. Reassemble the Song:Use your creativity to make the remix your own, not just an alternate version. At the 3rd chorus when you build a climax, I would split the vocals and pause the moment after "somebody I can kiss…." Hold it for a second or two, have some breezy white noise so it's not dead silent, they bridge the tune to the top of the mountain at full volume to declare "I WANT SOMWTHING JUST LIKE THIS!" Actually, you did have a good idea in the beginning with the alternate beats in syncopation with the singer, however it was a little off, and I had some hard time trying to shift the beats into place from where they were offset. That could be fixed by slowing the vocals down to match it, just don't do it too much and ruin the beat.3. Intro/outro. This is pretty simple. Just give the song 16 beats ahead and after the vocslisr so the listener gets a feel for your ambience and style. Your tune started too soon with the vocals. Wouldn't be a bad idea to crescendo that intro. This is all an artist's opinion, even though that's just what you wanted. Make changes according to your desire.

What did you think of the Mic Drop Remix?

I love the remix but I, personally, prefer the original.

What do you think about my First Song Remix?

Cool!

What is a great remix that you love?

There are many Zahn does a great job with Iron Maiden’s “Number Of The Beast”. One could stay lost in the vaults of YouTube for days listening to remixes and covers. What is your definition of a remix? If a remix to you is also a cover of one artist redoing another artist song Then maybe take a look at Janet Devlin, http://janetdevlin.com she does a lot of covers/remixes. Here’s just Two of many. Enjoy! Robert

What do you think of my music Graduated Remix Ft J98 Audio ?

I've only had a chance to listen to the first song so far, but you really have created an atmosphere using minimal harmonic resources. I mean this as a compliment! The basic undeviated harmonic progression is: I-V-II7-IV; but you have managed to hold the interest with an engaging melodic line, singing and of course affecting lyrics.  So, great stuff!

What do you think about the original Bollywood songs been remixed in 2017?

Imagine your family member/confidant getting all ready and accompanying you to a party. Don't you feel more energy has been rushed inside your body. The environment is much more lighter and it's like your happy place. In the same way I think these Bollywood remixes can make us groove like no other song in the present era. We already connect so much with it emotionally and now it's our favourite party number too.Huge Bonus !However only the original version soothes your soul. That's the power it has! Unmatched !Thanks for asking.

What do you think about the MIC Drop song by BTS?

Hi…. an unpopular opinion:I DIDN’T LIKE ITDon’t get me wrong here, its not that I don’t like BTS’s songs(I especially enjoyed Fire or Dope)But this is because those songs were idol songs that incorporated the typical BTS swagger. However, Mic Drop was a feeble attempt to mimic hip hop(especially k-hip hop, which I am an avid fan of), and I think they failed(Sort of)The rapping is average at best(compared to you-know, professional hip hop artists)-not saying that RM or any of the other guys are bad rappers, but they are not above their idol status(unlike Zico or Mino who are respected as hiphop artists of their own right). The rapping seemed forced which made it hard to listen to properly. The rhyming and lyrics were mediocre at best and their “boasting” was…. unpleasant(I might be biased though - Confucian ideals)The remix was OK, Steve Aoki’s beat was a blast, and Desiigner did what he did best as usual. However, it makes you wish for a true American/K-hip hop collabo - like the Tablo+Joey Badass one or the Dok2 and Wutang clan one.*A video of Flowsick - a korean rapper - rapping to the beat- from about 2 minutes onward:

Do you like remixed music or only the original song?

I’d say it depends a lot, some remixes can give a song layers and a different sound, but it can also mess it up and make it sound ‘fake’ or just weird.I don’t like the fact that some songs are remixed and suddenly everybody loves that song and think they know it.One case was Fast Car originally by Tracy Chapman, as someone who grew up listening to this with my older brothers I thought it was nice at first, that it was back. The song is more upbeat and different but you can still clearly hear the original in it.My only problem is that I would quiz my classmates on who wrote it and sang it originally and they would point to the artist name below the title on their Spotify playlist. Close to no one actually new the original and had no clue who Tracy Chapman was.i think that is wrong, remixes should give songs new life and let them live on, not replace the others.
