What Do You Think About My Story 1 090 Words

What to do about a lying, pot stirring, trouble causing co worker?

I work in the office of a lumber mill with a mixture of men & woman. This one lady is constantly causing problems by lying, never fessing up to "opps...I made a mistake", she is always blame shifting mistakes onto others. Nothing is ever her fault. She is a total problem causer & is always worried about other's jobs rather then hers! She has no social skills, talks down to everyone like they are stupid. She doesn't get along with anyone in the entire mill, & she just got in my face & really pissed me off. What can I do, or say to prove to her that she isn't all that she thinks she is, & put a stop to all her BS? I want to put HER IN HER PLACE. What can I do?

Is this style of writing any good?

If it's just for fun and your own enjoyment, just go for it.

My personal opinion is that it's too slow moving and plodding.

You also seem to use words in strange ways that it becomes difficult to understand what you're trying to say. If you were trying to get this published, that could be a major obstacle.

"watching reflections of passing cars strobe raindrops on the window."

???

"brewed a cup of sugarless coffee." All coffee is sugarless. People add the sugar themselves.

But, as I've said, you're doing it for fun so it should not really matter what other think.

Just keep writing.

Frost: Stopping By Woods on a Snowy Evening?

Okay . . . I'm an English teacher . . .and I've been sitting here trying to put myself in your place instead of your teacher's. (Probably a good thing for me to do from time to time.) I can understand how peeved you must be. You interpreted the poem the way you saw it. You weren't being disrespectful, either to Frost or your teacher. But your teacher was disrespectful to you, and you may have felt he was belittling you intellegence. Not nice. No wonder you're angry.

Now, stepping into the teacher role for a moment . . . .It seems to me there are a couple of things you can do . . .or at least there are a couple of things that would work if you were my student. One of them would be to attach a VERY POLITE note to your paper explaining to your teacher what you have told us . . .that you were not making fun of the poem and that you feel, as a creative individual who has been encouraged to think for him/herself (sorry, I can't tell from your post), it's only fair that your teacher consider your unique perspective and interpretation. That may or may not work, depending on your teacher's flexibility and sense of fair play. Or, you could arrange a conference with your teacher and say the same thing. Then, based on his response, you can decide whether or not to turn in the paper.

I would not, however, either turn in the paper with no comment or simply not turn it in. In the first instance, your teacher will take it as insubordination, and that's just going to escalate the problem. If you don't turn it in at all, your teacher will never understand the real problem, and you'll continue to stew.

By the way, for what it's worth, I've taught that poem for years, and I've always thought it was a simple lyric poem about observing a beautiful, quiet night. I have never believed it was about a man contemplating suicide. Though that's the standard, scholarly interpretation, I think it's reading much too much into the poem that simply can't be supported adequately by the text. As a matter of fact, after reading what you've written, I think there's at least as much--and maybe more--Santa in the poem as suicide.

Good luck to you on this!

What is the harsh truth that you learned from Quora?

A very big % of people in quora are either going through a love failure or depression.Even a 15 year old kid is a love expert here.People trust quorans more than their loved ones.Boys profile with 130 answers has got 150 followers where as, a girls profile with 0 answers will get 500+ followers :/People don't read if its a long answer. Most of the people check the length and upvotes of the answer before reading it.People upvote only after comparing your answer. Even if they read, they just don't upvote. 200 views with 2 upvotes is common you see here.Do you have F.R.I.E.N.D.S based image or a hot girls pic in your answer? Your answer will get upvoted for sure.Top quorans get upvotes every second. A point to be noted is that, only they are allowed to publish short answers. You see a lot of horny people in here. Thank god there's a block button.A very big % of people treat this like a dating site. (Quora is not a place for that). Some so called gentleman come here only to fight and argue with the points you wrote, I have no idea what they get from it. Can't you just see the effort done before talking.A lot of people here are fake. I don't know why ! What do you think this is, Facebook ?Even a really great answer as well as a good comment get collapsed here. God knows why.Last but not the least. People even copy your answer just to get upvotes. (How could they take credits for someone else effort ? )This one is the answer given by this guy for this question and one of the best answer so far.But later I saw the same answer copied by another guy and sadly that particular one got more upvotes.14. Quora is not a place for plagiarism.Edit 1: inserted a new image(2nd) with name blurred because too many people think, revealing the name is against BNBR rules. So here goes. :/Edit 2: To the people who think my 1st point is invalid, I have written it with my experience (I did edit the number tho) I get a lot of messages asking advices for their depressed state because of love failure or some other related issues. To the people who's asking for proof, here I'm inserting a ss of just 1 of them.My edits are bigger than the answer :/ (Proof for my 11th point) :p

Why do Christians ridicule Mormons for believing Jesus appeared in America after his resurrection?

Son of God – Obviously
Born of a virgin – Yes, indeed
Performed miracles – No doubt
Died for our sins – Of course
Resurrected – Amen
Went to America? – THAT'S RIDICULOUS!

Why do Christians think it's so outrageous that Jesus spent some time with his children and prophets in the New World? How is that possibility less ridiculous than the beliefs they share with Mormons?

"A five year old criticizes a four year old
for believing in Santa Claus,
though he still wets the bed because of
the monster beneath it."
