What Do You Think About The Kindle Paperwhite 3g Wifi Without Special Offers

Should I get the Kindle Paperwhite with 3G or without? What's the additional benefit of having this 3G? Is it worth the price differential to a reasonable person out there?

In addition to access to the Amazon store anytime, the Kindle 3g version has a couple of additional benefits which, IMO, is worth the extra 50 bucks.1. Anytime access to Wikipedia : Although the experimental browser in all 3g Kindle versions (except the Kindle Keyboard 3g) blocks access to most websites on 3g, Wikipedia is allowed.Link to comic : xkcd: Kindle2. Whispersync : Once I start reading a book, I prefer to continue reading it on the Kindle app on whichever device is accesible at the moment. If, lets say, I find myself in a long queue, my smartphone is a bit more convenient to continue the book than taking out my Kindle. The Whispersync feature enables me to keep my page locations synced across devices, so that I can continue at the page I was reading on my other device.

How does Kindle Paperwhite + 3G work in India without a SIM card?

Have you wondered how Reliance CDMA or Tata Photon data card works without SIM? Because they have in-built module for 3G. On the same line, Kindle has HSDPA modem which provides 3G connectivity over the Vodafone network. You can only access Wikipedia and Amazon (for purchasing books). Since, you can only access these limited sites, there is no too much danger for IT laws.

How much would a Kindle Paperwhite (with & without 3G) cost on Black Friday?

Doubt it would change; the Paperwhite is backlogged already, there's no good reason for them to sell it for less when demand is already so high.

I live in India. Which is better for me- Kindle Paperwhite with or without 3G?

It doesn’t really matter, unless you want a Kindle unlimited account and want to read on the cloud most of the time or if you are going to send your work related documents to your kindle via the e-mail to kindle function and read them OTG.You’ll need internet connectivity. But the best part about kindle is offline reading.Once the book is delivered to your kindle from your kindle store, you can download it and keep them there. It can store 1000’s of books so there is no space crunch.I personally have 300+ books on my kindle and its going to take a lifetime for me to finish them all. That said, its up to you to decide if you want a 3G device. Since, I have a Wi-Fi enabled one and I am on Airplane mode all the time unless I need to buy/download a new book/document.

Can I buy a Kindle Paperwhite 3G with WiFi from the USA for using in India? Does it need to be unlocked or locked?

There is nothing to unlock. The same 3G is made available worldwide for free through partnerships with various telecom providers. There is no slot to add your own SIM card (as there is no need)

Amazon kindle paperwhite Wifi vs 3G?

The 3G is only worthwhile if you have no Wifi network at home or at work or at school for downloading your Amazon ebook purchases to your Kindle OR if you travel around your own country a lot and would often be away from home when you want to purchase and download a Kindle book from Amazon.. The only things you can do on the free 3G are buy ebooks at Amazon, download those ebooks, and search Wikipedia (possibly just for something that is in a book you are reading). You cannot browse over the 3G. Browsing requires Wifi.

A long time ago, Amazon used to let 3G Kindle owners browse on the free 3G. THEN the 3G was worth it for me, even though I have Wifi at home, because I could check email or do twitter sitting on the beach or riding in the car or anywhere there was the right kind of cell tower.

But when I got my Paperwhite, the 3G was no longer worth the cost because you can no longer browse on 3G and I have Wifi at home for downloading my Kindle ebooks. Anyone who has wired internet at home can easily add Wifi to their home network - it just needs a cheap Wifi router from Best Buy or Walmart and a geek to set it up.

Even if you don't have Wifi, you could go through the extra work of downloading your Kindle ebook purchases to your computer then transferring them by hand to the Kindle. BUT the Kindle must first connect to a network first to register to your Amazon account (or you won't be able to read the ebooks you purchased).

Should I buy Kindle Paperwhite 3G?

So you have made your mind that you need Kindle Paperwhite, that's fine. Now you are confused if you should buy simply WiFi or 3G edition. For a moment, keep aside the price issue, you need to understand your requirement. If you have access to secured WiFi at your home or office, then i don’t think you need 3G edition. Even if you are frequent traveller, you can anytime use your mobile as a hotspot to create wifi network for kindle. Plus you will required a new Sim connection for your Kindle to access 3G network with its rental plan as an additional recurring expenses.Ultimately you know your requirements better, for me unlimited Wikipedia is not a big deal so why spend more bucks on something which i hardly need. And in the case you still want a 3G model, then even spending few thousands extra buck should not be a big factor, you are going to forget it in few months. Now comes to pricing. Anybody who is used to shop on Amazon know that the prices of any products are not static. It tend to vary from moment to moment and even from person to person. Amazon algorithm carefully monitor the user behaviour and fluctuate the prices accordingly which vary from consumer to consumer. So if you are not in any urgent urge to buy it right now then the good strategy is to add this item in your wishlist or cart and monitor prices for few weeks. You will definitely get a good deal in due time.hope it help. cheers

What are the reviews from the Kindle Paperwhite?

It's the Kindle Paperwhite with 6" High Resolution Display and Wi-Fi. On RadioShack the link I'm looking at is http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=30273156 . Is it worth the money on there? I'm looking for something good with e-mails and books...don't care too much for the camera.

What's the feedback on Amazon Kindle Paperwhite 3G in India?

I have the Kindle Keyboard version 3G the older one. The 3G is useful only if you buy books directly from Amazon cause WhisperNet can be used to send it directly to your Kindle. If you are not particular about buying books from Amazon go for the WiFi version and save a few bucks. You do get good 3G connection in India but, you can't really use the device for browsing it has no flash player and not many webpages are static. My bet is you won't be using it for browsing.
