What Do You Think About This Movie

What do you think about the movie "Lion"?

I thought it was a charming movie. Amazing story and the fact that it’s based on a true story makes it even better! While watching the movie you feel revitalized, determined, and grateful that Google Earth exists!Despite the applaud I gave it in my intro, I DON’T think it deserves a nod for the Oscar. The only reason it etched through is because of the Academy Award’s new rule of having more than 5 nominees per category. It was amazing because the story was engaging. It was amazing because character development (obviously) and acting was splendid. However, I think it fell flat in depicting destitute of a child being lost and separated.Story was amazing in it of itself. What an amazing story of finding your family after 25 years! But it was frustrating to watch his agonizing attempts as both a child AND adult. It felt like I was watching a horror movie trying to add drama. Very overtly dramatic, too intense at moments which should be subtle, and unnecessary build-up from time to time. Also the frustration of staring into Google Maps as an audience member. I was getting frustrated with his frustration. Not in the connecting with the character type of sense, but rather, but it was just giving me a headache. Felt like the directors were just trying to fit it into the apex of movie.I liked it. But I wouldn’t watch it the second time. I can just type Maps into my web browser :).

What do you think about the movie Bang Bang?

This movie is one of the worst movies I have seen since a long time. The movie is not worth the time and money. The movie is an eye candy because of the locations where the movie has been shot. Nothing more nothing less. StoryThe movie story line was as so predictable that even if I would have left the multiplex during interval anticipating what is going to happen in the next half, I would not regret. The story has no end or a beginning and often takes messy turns in between. I won't even touch upon the logical flaws of the movie. Trust me the list would be long!DurationThe movie seemed too much stretched out. This is where you cannot compare Knight and Day with Bang Bang as Knight and Day had kept it short (110 minutes) where as Bang Bang rambled out for about 150 minutes and that too with healthy deviations in story line. Stick to the duration when you make a remake!Cast and ActingThere was nothing much the assembled cast could do in this movie. Hritik 'looked' good in the movie as he usually does but do not expect him to show his acting skills here. Jimmy Shergil's cameo was good. I was a bit happy to actually see Danny and Javed Jaffery on screen after long but apart from that they had average roles. Katrina had kind of a dumb role which didn't make sense at times.MusicThe music was OK. Vishal-Shekhar duo could have been better with the music as they usually are but nonetheless the music was not as bad as the movie. DialoguesSome didn't just go with the movie and some other didn't make sense at all.The action sequences could have been way better as compared to other Bollywood movies. None of them were worthy enough to make you think 'Damn! How did they do that?' I cannot conclude without mentioning the evident branding this movie has come up with. Mountain dew, Samsung, etc etc. The theater felt numb during the whole movie and wasn't even entertaining. I so much craved watching Haider instead! Going by the promos and trailer of the movie, I didn't expect it to be this disastrous at all.

What do you think about this movie?

What do you think about Indian movies?

I think an Indian with worldwide/foreign cinema exposure too can attempt to answer this question and that will be equally fair, because thinking that every Indian feels the same way about Indian movies might be a very wise conclusion to get to. Moreover, Indian cinema is a big word, it involves a galaxy of different types of movies (South Indian, Bhojpuri, Bollywood, Marathi and the new wave Indian cinema ‘Lunchbox, Masaan, Court’ to name a few.) From where I see it, the foreigners you are asking this question to might not have a fair sense of our cinematic diversity. What most foreigners would know about Indian cinema is pretty much just the Bollywood.

What do you think about the movie The Interview?

I have a puerile sense of humour, so I thought it was very funny, what with all the honey-dicking. I've previously joked that the possibility of a Seth Rogen sex scene would keep me from watching it, I lied, I was joking, because I dig a husky fella and I dig Seth Rogen and his sense of humour and easy, down to earth charm. There are in fact two Seth Rogen sex scenes, if we count the torpedo. There's also jiggling and propellering, although probably not as impressive as Joel and his pasties, I'm sure.Actually, the two stand out performances are from Randall Park as President Kim and Diana Bang as Sook; both are hilarious and act Franco and Rogen off the screen. Rogen is, after all, the same affable persona film after film.If it weren't for the controversial subject matter, it would have just been a mediocre comedy that people would go see at the cinema, with their mates for a bit of a laugh. As it stands it still is just a mediocre, fun comedy. Viewing it as anything more is reactionary and ridiculous.I did struggle to fathom why they didn't just use a fictitious president with striking similarities to Kim Jong-Un. It was hardly an intellectual, biting satire, shining a light and shaming the oppressive regime of North Korea, more a couple of teenage lads sticking two fingers up to and shaking their wangs at a pretty unpleasant authority figure, wanting to provoke a reaction, and feeling pretty cool about themselves. All in all it's an enjoyable, puerile comedy.

What do you think about superhero movies?

I believe most Marvel movies are made just to squeeze money. Altough i enjoyed Iron Man 1 and 2 back then (which are heavly criticised even by fans) now i see they all are (actually most) almost  the same movie. Let's see;Our hero has became what it is with various eventsOur hero rises against low level enemies and suchThen comes a nemesis which kicks our heros butt for a whileThen our hero stands up remembering a quote or his uncle or with some encourage and defeats nemesis.Sequels usually repeat steps 2-3-4 therefore mostly even more boring. Not only Marvel but DC does this too. Green Lantern and Superman Returns were made in the same way. Iron Man and GL were bad examples ok, just a lousy story with no background idea. Nolan's Dark Kinghts and Marvel's Daredevil serie(for the first season at least) was just a story with mostly (except for Jokers in DK) no background idea again but very well made. And then there is Watchmen. A true masterpiece if you ask me. It has action, history and sociological ideas that make people think while entertaining.About forthcoming movies; i have no expectation from Dawn of Justice and absolutely no interest in avengers. Suicide Squad and Deadpool(beacuse of his 4th wall thing) may be nice movies. Now i know that i'm making some arrogant assumptions and such but this is my thought on these movies. I've always had a very versatile taste in music and movies. I used to love hardcore action movies and even harder music but now looking for a meaning in stuff, feelings or ideas. Part of growing up and old i guess

Snakes on a plane, the movie, what do you think?

The film is about a guy that is a whiteness to something and he has this body guard (Jackson) who is supposed to protect him. While he goes on a flight to live at a safe house or wherever untill the trial, the people he is testifying against pay airport security to let them place an extra crate in the cargo hold. In the crate, are a bunch of snakes from all over the world, all of them deadly. The crate is set to open during the flight. They hope that the snakes will kill the witness. I personally think this movie is gonna Rock. Snakes on a Plane is already a cult classic and it hasn't even been released yet. There are so many fan sites that it must be good. It is just going to be an incredible movie. It will go down in history with movies like Star Wars and The Matrix. Our great great great grandchildren will watch it in their history classes as an example of film genius. People will put a picture of Samuel L. Jackson in every air port with a caption underneath saying, "Keep these Mothafucking snakes off theses Moothafucking planes." Every teenager in America will have a S.O.A.P. movie poster in their school locker. The president will declare August 18th to be Snakes on a Plane day. No film about killer animals will ever surpass the greatness of Snakes on a Plane!

What do you think of when you hear the word "movie"?

Well, my mind is blasted by all kinds of movies that I've seen, such as maybe horror or fantasy. I think of the couple of foreign films that I have seen, such as Pan's Labyrinth and City of Lost Children. As for live action adaptations of anime, I'm immediately weary and wondering if it'll be any good. I enjoyed the Black Butler one, even if “Ciel” is a girl and takes place in the future instead. Then there are movies like Silent Hill and Resident Evil, based off a popular video game series. While most people didn't enjoy them, I sure as Hell did. When they made the second Silent Hill movie, I really didn't care too much about it. The first one was a lot better, exploring the town of Silent Hill much more.Lastly, I think of movies such as Marley and Me and A Dog's Purpose. You don't want to watch them for a long time, as it hits close to home.

What do you think about the movie Gridiron gang?

If you love the Rock you'll love this movie. Even non-Rock fans like this movie. You get to see the sweet, caring side of the Rock that all women love, and he manages to keep his utterly perfect studliness in tact. You even get to see him in a football uniform. Tight pants never looked so good on a man.

The plot line is excellent, and the fact that it is a true story makes it even better. It is proof that the wrestler/football player can really act in a serious movie. It's exciting, moving and a little funny.

I ended up buying it. It is a must-have for any Rock fan.

What do you think about the movie Seven Pounds?

Will Smith deserves in Oscar...This is the first time I seen him act that good in a movie....All in all, good "life perspective lifting" movie.
