What Do You Think Is It True What Martin Luther Said

Do you think Martin Luther King Jr's dream came true?

Martin Luther King Jr. substitute right into a visionary and a guy of peace. He had to unite human beings of all race, nationality and faith to stay and artwork jointly. He prayed to God that sooner or later we'd all be equivalent. He could have been rejoicing. it's time for all to pass beyond the traces of race and not in any respect look decrease back.

Son thinks that what Martin Luther did was good and that the catholic church is bad...UGH!?

After 35 years of being taught a bunch of lies and complete filth in various protestant churches, I have finally found truth! I have converted to the Roman Catholic Church, the one true church that was founded by Jesus on Peter, and could not be happier with my life in that way. My wife and 16 yr old son and 18yr old daughter have also followed me into the church. Again, I could not be happier in this way. However, somehow my son all the sudden, apparently because of an AP Euro history course at his High School, thinks that what Martin Luther did was needed, necessary and good. He is buying all that crap about how the catholic church was out of control and very "bad". None of that stuff has ever been proven to be true to me and as I look at what history has to say about that time and shortly thereafter, all I see is evidence of that just the opposite is true and furthermore that Martin Luther and his followers were every bit as guilty as what they were accusing the catholic church of doing...
Anyways, when he talks to me about this he is completely disrespectful to me and does not wanna hear anything that I have to say about the matter because I dont happen to have a book ready at just that moment to show him where it is written about what I am trying to say. Apparently, he thinks he has to have something written in a book before he can believe anything...lol I have grounded him by taking away his PS3, as if he has time for that these days anyways lol and also put a password on his computer, trying to limit his use thereof. I feel he is completely out of control in this way and other ways that I will not go into here on the internet.
So my question for ya'll is this: As a parent, as a father, have I over-reacted here?

Has Martin Luther King Jr.'s dream come true?

I do not believe that America is even close to achieving this dream. Martin Luther King Jr.'s dream was that one day, a man would not be judged by the color of his skin, but by the content of his character. Many people believe that with the election of our new president, King's dream has finally been achieved, but I believe that this is completely untrue. How many people in this country do you believe voted for Barack Hussain Obama, because of his skin color and nothing else? I have a friend who was down at the polls on election day, and he asked people who voted for Obama to name one thing they knew about Obama's plan for America. Over 80% of the people could not give him an answer to that question. Do you honestly believe that these people were judging Obama by the content of his character, and not the color of his skin? I am not at all a racist. I believe that a black man can do anything a white man can do if he puts his mind to it. I chose to not vote in this election, because I did not believe that either of the men nominated would be the best person for this great nation.

I have a dream that one day, people will look past a person's skin color, and look into their character. I have a dream that one day, people will elect a candidate solely based on his character and plan to make this great country stand strong, rather that his appearance or skin color. I have a dream that one day the great Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.'s dream would finally come true. Is anybody with me?

Is it true that Martin Luther was a catholic? then he established the protestant church?

Martin Luther was 'catholic' in every sense of the term, even after being excommunicated. Its funny, Martin Luther gets blamed for either:
1. 'Splitting the church' as if 'the church' militant had never been split prior to the 1500's. Yeah there was a big east/ west split 500 years prior. Not to mention the craziest in the west with popes and antipopes.
2. Establishing the protestant church. As if that was his goal to begin with. The ‘Lutherans’ (we have Rome to thank for that name that they gave us) established churchly institutions after being cut off from Rome for so long. Also the 'protestant churches' were not cohesive or unified. The Calvinists and the Lutherans during the Reformation despised the Anabaptists. And the Lutherans and Roman Catholics put down (harshly) a revolt Muenster.

When you take a step back and look at Reformation history, you see that the ‘Protestants’ always held out the hope of reconciliation with Rome. It wasn’t until during the Diet of Augsburg and the official excommunication of ‘Protestants’ during the Council of Trent, didn’t these people see that reconciliation was just a pipe dream. Remember, it was the Pope the excommunicated Martin Luther, he didn’t leave.

But to answer your questions.
#1 Yes Martin Luther was catholic.
#2 No he didn’t not establish the Protestant church.

If it is true that Martin Luther King Jr had affairs, does it mean he wasn't a true Christian?

“If it is true that Martin Luther King, Jr had affairs, does it mean he wasn't a true Christian?”Whether or not it's true I don't know- I wasn't there- but either way, I do consider him to be a Christian. Why? Because we are all sinners, every single one of us- you, me, Billy Graham, the Pope, everybody.Romans 3:23-24 …for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.1 John 1:8–10 If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word is not in us.There is only one sin that can result in our souls being lost for eternity. That is the lifelong rejection of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

Is that true Martin Luther deleted......?

Martin Luther Did Not Remove Books From The Bible

An obvious sign that someone has not read anything about Luther and the canon is the assertion, “Luther removed books from the Bible,” or “Luther removed books from the New Testament.” It is a simple historical fact that Luther’s translation of the Bible contained all of its books. Luther began translating the New Testament in 1521, and released a finished version in 1522. He published sections of the Old Testament as he finished them. He finished the entire Bible by 1534. During these years, various incomplete editions were released.

Some Protestants might be surprised to learn that Luther also translated the Apocrypha. The editors of Luther’s Works explain, “In keeping with early Christian tradition, Luther also included the Apocrypha of the Old Testament. Sorting them out of the canonical books, he appended them at the end of the Old Testament with the caption, ‘These books are not held equal to the Scriptures, but are useful and good to read.’”

Is it true that martin luther was mentally ill?

Let me verify. It seems to be a rumor.

About this topic, my uncles has helped me with the following material, which is interesting to read.

Quote

While surfing the channels I came across a PBS show on mental illness, and specifically OCD. They were discussing a subset of OCD called Scrupulosity Disorder.

They cited some examples of religious figures who suffered from mental illness, and Martin Luther the founder of Protestantism was cited as having OCD, Scrupulosity Disorder and possibly depression.

To be perfectly honest, I had never heard of a religiously oriented mental illness. Scrupulosity Disorder is completely new to me. It got me to thinking and wondering.

Is Scrupulosity Disorder real? If so, what are the symptoms? How is it diagnosed? How is it treated? How common is it? How do you seperate Scrupulosity Disorder from sincere or healthy religiosity?

In regards to Martin Luther mental illness. Is this true? (I'd never heard this.) Did he have Scrupulosity Disorder? How common knowledge is this among Protestants? If he had Scrupulosity Disorder, how did this affect his religious views? To what extent (or not) were his interpretations of the scriptures affected by this disorder? To what extent were his views about the Jews affected by this. Are there any thinking on this issue and Martin Luther?

Unquote:

I think somebody else may be keeping HIS name. It is a duplicate.

Is it true that Martin Luther was an anti-semite?

answer: Yes, and so was Henry Ford, Charles Lindburgh and quite a number of famous men throughout the ages.

Especially in Luther's time, it was common. You had the church teaching that the Jews brought about the death of Jesus (nevermind that God masterminded the death), Jews that had no homeland so they roamed and kept to themselves (communities found that threatening because they were outsiders, had strange rites, didn't believe like everyone else and didn't spend their money/gold in the community but horded it). Jews usually had neighborhood areas to themselves and at times, those were walled in with guards on the gates so they wouldn't contaminate the good Christians. At various points in history, a church or politician would get everyone riled up and the "ghetto" (yes, that's where the term comes from) would burn and the inhabitants slaughtered, the survivors hitting the road again.

Is it true that Martin Luther stuck "Revelation" in the Appendix when he translated the Bible into German?

Martin Luther (1483 - 1546) translated the bible with his own interpretations. He was dissatisfied with the corrupt catholic church ( nothing changes) and founded the Protestant movement. Gutenberg had only in 1455 printed the first bibles, such enabling real copies being made, where all the handwritten bibles where different to each other. So, with Luther and Gutenberg, making the first time the bible readable to ordinary people, it had a profound influence on our todays known bible, opening up the dark ages and wrestling power away from the tyranny of the church. Under Cheney and Gonzales, Luther and Gutenberg would have been held in Guatamo.

Is it true Martin Luther King, Jr. was a Republican?

well, i think u have a point there, but i also think that he would of voted for barack obama because he worked so hard for equal rights for blacks, and since they seem to have a lot in common like the ability to speak well and being able to inspire millions of people. i also think that he would be pro gay marriage since he was a big believer in equality and said things like "injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere" i think liberals (i am one) try to say things like that because republicans dont want to tax rich people that many of them are rich. i dont think republicans are racist, but it is true that a lot of republicans are white, which isnt realy a bad thing, but also maybe they think that since a lot of southern states vote republican, a lot of racists are republican. i dont think that there are no racists in northern states or that everyone in a southern state is racist, but i did live in south carolina when they took the confederate flag off of the capital building, which was like maybe 5 years ago, and have lived in alabama and kentucky which honestly probably half of the people were atleast a bit biggoted, but when i lived in pennsylvania and maryland and even my current residency in virginia there are are a few kinda racist people but not as much and it is kinda i guess a stereotype that the south is more racist that the north, well anyway, hope i helped some :)
