(i hated and will never understand the hype over the descent and 28 days/weeks later. i basically don't like older horror movies as well.)

i cant remember the year of some of them on the list but majority are recent films that i did like. only one was from the 90's which is misery. i highlighted with *** the movies that belong to my favorite list which i've seen over and over

Scariest movie ever.?

As a horror fan, your gonna thank me for this. So you think you can handle some real well directed terror. Ok. I'll give you a list that will make The Exorcist seem like Sesame Street. lol

# 1. " A Serbian Film ". - This movie is well directed and was actually banned in some countries. If you can find this movie, good luck. It has a good plot and the sickest ending ever.

#2. " Salo ". - The scenes in this movie will make you feel dirty. lol

#3. "Cannibal Holocaust" - This is a very old movie, but it has alot of reviews. The animal killings are 100% real, and the film was banned in alot of countries. The Serbian Film however is worse. Lol

#4. " Visitor Q " - This is Quentin Terentinos most underrated film.

Scariest movies ever?

The Ring, The Amityville Horror, When a Stranger Calls, Final Destination, White Noise

I couldn't sleep after The Ring, Amityville Horror, and somtimes after I see Final Destination.

What are the scariest movies ever made?

I am a horror and thriller fan. I watch a lot of them. But for me the scariest movie is not a horror. You’ve probably heard the song One by Metallica. If you’ve seen the music clip you see they used clips from a film in the video. Because I am a curious guy I looked up the movie “Johnny Got His Gun”The movie, much like the metallica song, tells the story of a young soldier in world war 1 that gets hit by an artillery shell. He wakes up in the hospital a quadruple amputee who has also lost his eyes, ears, mouth and nose. He lost 4 of his 5 senses and the ability to move. He remains conscious and able to reason, but his wounds render him a prisoner in his own body. The movie is about him thinking, remembering his life before the war. After years he learns to communicate, using morse code. He asked to be shown to the public so people know the horrors of war. When they deny him that, he begs to be euthanized, which he is also denied. He has to stay the remainder of his life a prisoner of his own body. He can’t see, hear, speak, taste, move. He’s all alone. That is the scariest movie I’ve ever seen.

Is there any movies scarier then the conjuring?

I really liked "The Conjuring," and I would agree that it's probably one of the scariest movies I've seen as well.

As far as something scarier, it would honestly be hard to say. First of all, being in the movie theater enhances the senses and makes horror films much scarier than they normally would be just sitting at home. The type of horror movie also has a lot to do with whether it's scary. Most horror films these days are full of blood, violence, and gore, and as you saw, there isn't much of any of that in The Conjuring because it's a psychological horror film. A good example of the difference would be "Evil Dead" (the 2013 version). That is also a horror movie, but it is just nonstop blood, gore, and murder, so it's nastier more so than scary. Likewise with the "Saw" movies.

Also, I think the age of the movie has something to do with it. When you see the film when it first comes out, it's much scarier than when you go back in time, because after all, these movies borrow ideas from each and the effects are always changing, so a horror film made in 2013 will most likely be much scarier than one made in 2009. I remember when the 2003 version of "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" came out, I literally had nightmares for weeks, but after watching it again recently, there isn't anything at all scary about that movie. I had a dreadful fear of "Candyman" from the 1990s, but that too looks foolish nowadays since technology is advancing the effects in the movies.

If you haven't seen them yet, I'd say "Insidious" and "Paranormal Activity" are very creepy movies as well. The Conjuring takes its style from those films. The original 1973 version of "The Exorcist" is a classic and a MUST see for anyone interested in horror films. You probably won't be scared (after all, it's 40 years old), but it still is a very creepy movie. You have to remember that that was the movie that set the standard for every single horror movie produced since then; people were literally throwing up and passing out in the theaters while watching it!

What is considered the scariest movie of all time and how was it filmed?

Most people would probably contend between a few films, and each of them was filmed differently. They would be:The Exorcist (1973)- Panavision cameras. More info here: https://shotonwhat.com/the-exorc...The Blair Witch Project (1999)- Camera unknown. More info here: https://shotonwhat.com/the-blair...The Shining (1980)- ARRIFLEX 35 BL Cameras. Coraline -- One of the scariest movies ever?

I'm no stranger to horror / scary movies - I got through the Texas Chainsaw Massacre series and Silence of the Lambs series and Scream series just fine. I thought The Ring and Blair Witch Project were stupid and not scary. I've seen most of the well-known scary movies out there.

But last night I saw Coraline in 3D. Though it didn't have any blood or gore, it frightened me on a level like no other movie has. The Other Mother creeped me out like all hell from the first moment I saw her. IMO she put the Joker and Hannibal Lecter to shame.

I'm curious about your reactions.
