What do you think of the name Harlow?
I am expecting my first child and it's a girl. For years I'd had baby names picked out for my future kids, and they were all old fashioned classic names. Well, at the start of my pregnancy I met a little three year old girl at a birthday party named Harlow and she was just one of those kids everybody falls in love with and thinks is the most precious kid on the planet. I adored her right away as did everybody there and ever since I've been obsessed with the name Harlow. Now I'm having a daughter and I realised I have no interest in my previously loved girls names. One problem I have is that Harlow isn't my usual taste and I plan to definitely have more kids, and it just doesn't fit with other names I usually love. Another thing is that, while it's not made up, it kind of sounds made up and so modern which is not what I like. What's your opinion of this name? I only started liking it because of this little girl I met and now I adore the name but it doesn't fit with my general style at all.
What do you think of the name Nixie Harlow?.......?
Nixie is a cute nickname, but it's too cutesy and flimsy for a given name. Here are some other ideas for you. Some have the possibility of Nixie as a nickname, others are a bit modern and funky. Anise Nicolette Nisha Nitza Phoenix Zinnia Amity Felicity Tanis Odessa I don't love Harlow, but since it's a middle name, it's not a huge deal.
What do you think of the name Harlow?
Even tough traditionally a boys name, I much prefer Harlow for a girl... I think it's a very pretty name and actually would never name my son Harlow but would my daughter. Even though Harlowe looks much more cutesy and Girl it just doesn't seem to fit... I much prefer Harlow. Harlow Rose flows lovely with Leighton Olivia which is also a lovely name... I can't believe some of the comments on here! I know it's personal opinion and I wouldn't necessarily call my child Leighton but there is nothing wrong with the name and there are ways of putting it too!
Do you like the girl's name Harlow?
This is not intended as rudeness but as a wake-up call Rate it 1-10: negative 100 at best You've managed to combine 2 of the most horrible names possible. Harlow ...it's a surname and, therefore, rather ugly for a girl's first name ...why do people like a name so close to harlot? Addison ...MASCULINE and I really don't care about those who think all masculine names should be unisex ...it's a surname and used as the name of a particularly vile disease. So, whore+adrenal insufficiency = fugly name Why not consider an actual feminine name? Hazel Annika
Do you think it would be weird to name my daughter Harlow??
I love the actress Jean Harlow. I am considering Harlow for a middle name for my daughter and this was decided way before Nicole Richie and her naming her daughter Harlow. Do I think it's weird you want to name your daughter Harlow? No!!! I think it's a beautiful name. If you really do love it, then go with it. Congratulations!!!!

What name from the past do you think should make a comeback, or what name (current or past) should be put to rest forever?
I make my suggestion based on one of the best historic names ever, what a brilliant name was cooked up by the parents ofISAMBARD KINGDOM BRUNELHe of Structural Engineering fame!Isambard is a great name, I don't think it was ever that common, but it's old-fashioned and we should have a revival! And if you were to be called Isambard and found it too long or fancy for everyday use - well, it's easy enough to shorten it to Sam.Name I would lose for ever - sorry to anyone called this, but Martha. It always seems to be a servant’s name in literature, and I don't suppose The Handmaid’s Tale helps with that image. And being reminded of The Handmaid’s Tale every time you hear the name gives it a somewhat depressing air of repression. Blame Margaret Atwood for ruining that name! I know a guy at work who recently named his daughter Martha - each to their own, but I bet he's never read that book! Finally, no kid should ever have the indignity ever again of being called Fanny. It was a popular name in my Grandma’s day, but Fanny in England means vagina/external lady bits, and in the USA means arse. One of the worst names I've ever heard is Fanny Cradock. Fanny (vagina) followed by a word halfway between Crack and Haddock, that being the last surname you'd want to put with Fanny. Just - pity the poor kid. An elderly person might still get away with being called Fanny, but please, don't inflict it on a child. That would just be mean.
Harlow Jade Winter?
I think if you introduced your baby as Harlow this year everybody would think you copied. But seriously, 5 years down the road, who is really going to remember every single babys name that's a little different? I love the name Harlow, it's beautiful. and the nicole and joel hype will die down. if somebody named their baby lourdes I wouldnt automatically think of madonna. But i adore the name Liliah!
