What Do You Think Of This Love Poem I Wrote Link Provided

What is your opinion of this poem I wrote?

Could I simply say that my opinion of your poem that you wrote is that it is quite deep (pun intended). However, if you wanted critique or something particular to go on with, you should say that in the question. I’ll assume permission is given in the A2A for critique. The metaphor is good, a little unbalanced in the middle, but it holds although the shifting focus is a little confusing. When you start, it feels like you are talking about a person and their relationship to you, whereas at the end it feels like you are talking about inspiration by mentioning your muse. The two mix up together. Maybe there are two poems here trying to find form in the one set of words.Blank verse is probably good to keep metaphor in its place. Metaphor can be quite naughty sometimes.I like the alliteration and consonance scattered here and there. They give the words a soothing feeling, though there is a contrast with the wildness of the ocean which the salt water represents to me.There is the William Butler Yeats poem The Fish which has a related theme, though with a different approach and resolution. The FishALTHOUGH you hide in the ebb and flowOf the pale tide when the moon has set,The people of coming days will knowAbout the casting out of my net,And how you have leaped times out of mindOver the little silver cords,And think that you were hard and unkind,And blame you with many bitter words. I wrote a "Bernie Madoff" poem, do you want to help me improve this riff on the Song of Hiawatha by Longfellow?

So Longfellow, in heaven, is pondering a new epic poem: The Song of HiaCapital =
The Song of HigherCapital

=
The Song of HyperCapital

Thus departed Hiawatha,
Hiawatha the Beloved,
In the glory of the sunset,.
In the purple mists of evening,
To the regions of the home-wind,
Of the Northwest-Wind, Keewaydin,
To the Islands of the Blessed,
To the Kingdom of Ponemah,
To the Land of the Hereafter!

Thus departed Bernie Madoff,
He who made off with the money,
In his jail ten thousand sunsets,
With financiers missing morals
Leaving legions of the homeless
suicidal, ruined, bankrupt:
But the Islands of the Blessed,
In America's sweet cities
Bring NEW-MONEY™ to the rescue.

What do you think about my poem "As time goes by"?

While tingling wind Plays with my hair Worries and memories Slip through my mind As time goes by   While long sighs Bring the old memories Sorrows and fears Dye my hair white As time goes by   While all emotions are Crowded in my chest Life seems to me Never ending act Which repeats itself As time goes byI like your words; here is how I rephrase them:While tingling windsPlay with my hairWorries and memoriesCare through my mindAs time goes by...While long sighsBring back memories;Sorrows and fearsDye my hair whiteAs time goes by...While all emotions areCrowding in my chestLife seems to me...A never ending actWhich repeats itselfAs time goes by...Only you can really know how you want your words to go.This is merely a suggestion. Play with punctuation. See how it changes the meaning of the sentences to put in a comma, a semi-colon, or other punctuation. At the end of the day, this is your poem, your work, and you should be proud of it and love it; it doesn't matter what any "critic" says. You love your poem. :)Hope this helps! Thanks for asking me to answer! :)

Love: Do people who write love poems need to be in love?

Falling in Love is always a pivotal motivation and an uplifting energetic field that envelops our Soul. However falling in love has  many aspects and it can be transformed in many facades. It could be a Love for a person, love for a Place or Love for Life itself.Cosmic Poetry is another Love Poetry, a supernatural Poetry that exceeds the Human Consciousness and can retrieve huge amounts of emotions.Poetry and poems is a reflection of Spirit and when in a deep emotional state can be miraculous. So being in a state of "falling in Love" with our Spiritual identity is a means for creative writing.Katerina's Kostaki Youtube Channel[1]Footnotes[1] Katerina Kostaki

Where can I find the poems that Ramses II wrote for Nefertari in her tomb?

My uncle went to see the Nefertari tomb in 1997 after they opened it again. He can read hieroglyphics, and told me the poem by the one you said and these two other ones.

Nefertari Meryetmut, my beautiful wife, for whom the sun shines, I dedicate thee sacred [tomb?], to her. Her of the tw [o lands], may she (live!)

God's wife she is, blessed with beauty open thee hathor. She shall always live as the sun, for she has warmed my heart. With her passing, only thee radiance Hathor had giving Nefertari Meryetmut, Mistress of [lower and upper egypt]

There is also a lot more poems that are not written by ramses II. If you want to find them, type in on Google "Nefertari Euler"

BTW I DONT EVEN KNOW IF ANYONE CHECKS HER ANYMORE :S

What was Jalaluddin Rumi, talking about in his poem when he wrote?

Transcending dualism, going beyond thought to the unified self.
Right doing and wrong doing are both illusions.
In fact almost everything is an illusion and if we go far enough even self is an illusion.

Rumi would have gotten along famously with Buddha, Jesus and Krishna on these things.

The living meaning of self is beyond all notions. To realize it in a phrase is completely contrary to the subtle essence; we cannot avoid using words as expedients, though, but this has limitations. Needless to say, of course, random talk is useless. Nonetheless, the matter is not one-sided, so we temporarily set forth a path in the way of teaching, to deal with people.

All modern religion is superficial.

The self is silent.

Would you like to share a poem you wrote of any genre?

i would love to. i love writing. i am also attaching my link to my personal blog.this is my poem i wrote few weeks back.I AM BROKEN:To the world and to its people,To life and its shadow,To the stars and its silver lining,To the moon and its light,To the nature and the fierce sunI want to shout out loud,That I am broken…Inside- outEverything I doubt,Place I live,Are those people or the crowd?Top to bottomThe trust has rotten,Faith hurts often,Love has forgotten,All I knowIs that I am broken…Walking the street,Alone at night,Fallen leaves and no light,Fear is at a great height,Courage has gone on a night diet,He comes from the back,And he smiles bright,He takes me on a stranded site,I close my wrist tightAnd I back fight,Humanity has fallenLike a no string kite,I run and I hideBut I am broken inside…Stitching my wingsLeaving the past,I move forwardWith the world so vastWe vow to love & peace,But we bow to the blast..I still strangle to stand up againBut time travels so fast..I gather the broken piecesSitting alone aghast..Looking in the mirrorI see the real masksNothing that exists can really lastAll I am is a broken cast…What you shatter, you cannot reviveWhat you break, you cannot fix,What you lose you cannot gain ,What you fake you cannot realWhat dies cannot be lived,Butwhat is faded can be colored, what is dark can be lit, what is less can be morewhat is hate can be lovewhat is sad can be happywhat ends can start over“Leaving broken wings, i start to walk”- a Hope

Down Memory Lane: Was this the greatest love poem ever written?

*Over two years ago before the poetry link was established as a separate thread (de-linked from books & other arts/humanities), a few veteran poets/critics, like Lady Annabella, may recall this seemingly simple love poem. Yes, there have been many better-written poems. However, it earns position 7 on my subjective list of the top-ten most memorable poems to have graced these links since I joined. If a poem were to be judged 'great' on the basis of the number of responses it generates, then 'yuyu' (the poet) is unbeatable!
This poem generated not 40, not 50, not 60, not 70 and not 80 answers but a whopping 88 answers!!
*You may view my profile - "starred questions" and look for yuyu's question - "what do you think of this poem?" You may also access her public profile to read her other poems and the 88 responses this poem generated. The poet may still be around. What a record!!
What's so special about the poem?

7.
What do you think of this poem?
- By yuyu

When he walks he talks and there is no doubt about that
He reminds me of a thousand warriors
In a battle where he’s the winner
A taste of his kiss reminds me of honey molasses
There’s just no way to describe his scent
It is like no other
He’s got me caught up mentally, spiritually
He got me feeling like spring
With its blossoming flowers
Light of my life he is
Shining brightly through my soul
Emancipating me from girl to woman
Deep as the ocean I feel his touch
His masculinity has bewitched me forever

What is the name of your favorite poem and who is the author?

Wow!! I am stunned at the beauty and depth of some of these poems. Thanks all for working so hard and typing out the poems. I never would have been exposed to these if not for you guys! Thanks so much. I am keeping the question open for more poems.
