What do you think of this photo?

I like the fact that you have resisted the temptation to turn up the saturation, to make it look like all those “stock photos” out there: yours looks more real.I like that the clouds seem to start above the camera and swirl around, taking a right turn and disappear off to the far side of the image.I also agree that it doesn’t need anything in the foreground, and indeed is better for not having anything there - you’re going for a picture of a deserted beach and that’s what you’ve got.The clouds disappear into the distance, the buildings in the background disappear into the distance and the beach itself disappears into the background, both to the back of the image and to the right hand side, making it difficult to see where the beach ends and the sea begins. It’s something that goes on and on (a bit like life!). But you’ve given us a way into it with the steps on the left.By not having any strong colours you’ve not sought to colour our view of the scene: it is neither optimistic nor pessimistic and can be read either way. Pessimistically it’s about desolation, optimistically it’s about the start of a new chapter with anything possible.Works for me!
