Tyler is definetly a boys name. It's a pretty good name for a boy, because while he's still little you can call him Ty, and then when he gets older and grows out of it he'll have a good "big" name he can go by. I don't really like Aayla, I prefer Kayla, but with the right kid it could be cute. Good luck!

I'm just going to throw this out there. If you think about it please realize that what i'm about to say is true and plan accordingly. If you are attractive and are sure that your daughter is going to be cute and attractive also then, yes, it's a very cute name. An attractive girl named Tyler would be awesome. However, if you, no offense, are a heavy couple or aren't all that good looking, and you don't have a reason to think that your daughter would be attractive once she was in her teens then I would say pass. The fact is that an unattractive girl would probably have enough stress and self esteme issues as a teen and jr. high/ high school kid. Being named Tyler and being unattractive would draw scorn and chuckles that she was a, no offense to anybody, "lesbo" or... well you can think of a million of those i'm sure. I knew a girl named Johny when I was in high school. She was about as ugly as it gets, and she was hazed endlessly by the other kids because of her name. Had she simply been called Sue or something she'd have blended in and just been another face in the crowd. Now, I also knew a girl named Shawn. She was incredibly good looking and was the captain of the cheerleading squad and the homecoming queen. The only difference... Johny actually looked like a John and she could have been a defensive end on the football team, and Shawn was 110 lbs dripping wet and could be the poster face for victorias secret. Best of luck.
