All of them mean nothing; either the grammar is incorrect, or the metaphor is bad. 1. trawling your dark as owls do ? "Trawling" means using a fishing net to catch a lot of fish. It can be used as in idiom this way: "He goes to nightclubs and trawls for women." Owls don't trawl; they catch a single prey, one at a time. But the writer probably meant "hunting in the dark, like an owl" However, it is incorrect the way it is written; I wouldn't use "trawl" and I wouldn't use "your dark" (isn't the dark everybody's dark?) 2. Vague as fog... Again, this is poor writing. I assume the writer meant "unclear, hazy, foggy, blurry, out of focus", because "vague" can mean those, and they can describe "fog". However, fog isn't "vague"; you can see fog very clearly. Fog makes other things become vague or invisible, but the fog itself is neither. 3. Looked for like mail... The problem here is that Mail cannot look for anything. You can look for mail, but "like mail" means "the way mail does it" I am guessing the writer means "Searched through something in the manner that someone might search through mail for a specific item", but it is a bad metaphor, and doesn't make sense as written. In all three cases, I have no idea how they would be used in regards to having a baby. Since all of them mean nothing due to their errors, I suppose they could be used (incorrectly) anywhere. But the meanings I've given above are as close as I can get with these. Are you sure you're remembering them correctly?
For a written answer, how long is "briefly explain"?
That was an awkwardly worded question. Anyways - for a university application, I am asked to briefly explain my answers. It gives me up to 12 lines to type (if I continue to press enter). But I'm asking how many words a brief statement should include. Thank you!

Buddhists? Could you explain Karma?
I think the term Karma is often miscontrued in the west as a 'an eye for an eye' concept, or more physical. For example if you steal something and then later on something is stolen from you, most westerners would equate this as karma when in reality its more irony than anything. Karma is an internal thing and could actually be compared to the christian soul (although they are different things i think explaining it this way makes it a bit more clear) The idea with Karma, much like a soul, is that if you do bad things it causes bad karma (or weighs down your soul) and if you do good things you get good karma (or your soul is lighter). Then when we die Karma, much like a soul, determines what happens nexts. However what happens next does vary in each religion. Hopefully this makes sense to you, have a good day!

I have had a lot of people describe me as "quirky". I know what it means, technically by definition. However, I'm not sure I fully understand what is being implied. What does it mean when someone is described as quirky? Is it used in a positive manner, or is it a euphemism for just plain strange? Is there anyone who you would define as quirky that is a celeb or just a person that you like? I really want to know what people are trying to communicate. Thanks in advance!

What does it mean if a particular person appears in your dreams frequently?
It means that somewhere in your sub concius mind that person is stuck. The person you see most of the time may have created an imapct on your sensitive areas of brain.He may have provided you love , life's exposure or anything which is suitable for your. Comfort zone. As you see him/her in your dreams which is a subconscious of your mind therefore , the person have created a big impact on your senses. For example he /she must've touched you differently (in some cases girls see their worst molester) , made a song for you , made a wish come true of yours. Or anything.
