What Does It Make Mean Left Tail Lamp Indicator On

What does it mean when the "Brake lamp" light is on in your car?

I assume you are referring to the warning lamp (light) that appears on your dashboard rather than the actual lamp (light) at the rear of your car. Normally it means that the handbrake is on or not released fully. If the light is on while driving check the handbrake is fully off. If on the other hand if the lamp is still on when the handbrake is fully released then you MUST take action, this warning brake lamp/light could mean that the brake fluid is low. If this happens air will be drawn into the Hydraulics and that may lead to brake failure. Get it checked out by someone who knows what he is doing.Best regards Bob.

My brake light is on, what does this mean?

Your brake light is connected to your braking system and your emergency brake. If it comes on when the E brake is not engaged, it often means that your brake fluid is low. If your brake fluid is low, this likely means you have a leak somewhere within the system, because brake fluid does not evaporate or get "used up" over time. There could be a leak in the reservoir or one of the hoses or connections. Some cars also have a wear indicator, meaning that this light will come on to let you know that your brake pads have worn down and it is time to have them replaced. When your brake pads are severely worn, the piston has to travel further. The further the piston travels, the more brake fluid it pulls down out of the reservoir and through the system. This could cause your brake fluid to be low not because there is less fluid in the system (like when you have a leak), but because the fluid is covering a greater distance. This light could also signal a problem within your ABS module, however, many modern cars have a separate ABS light. Regardless of the reason the light comes on, it is best to have it checked out by a qualified brake mechanic right away, because it could indicate a serious safety issue. For more information, this article contains helpful details about servicing and repairing common brake problems.

My brake lights don't work, but my tail lights do. What should I do?

Check the brake light fuse in fuse box that could be blown, and also check to see if the brake light switch is bad, it should be located under the dash and the plunger of the switch should be touching the brake pedal arm. Also check, if they are on the same bulb, that the combination brake light, and taillight bulbs are in working order, or if separate bulbs, that the brake light bulbs are not blown out.If all of those components are in working order, and the brake lights still do not operate, then all of the wiring from the fuse box to the brake light switch, to the brake lights and to the bulb sockets will need to be checked for broken wires, and loose, or corroded connections at any of the above mentioned components.

On my car, a headlight, a tail light, and a brake light all went out simultaneously. What is the most likely issue?

Looking at the wiring diagram for your vehicle, I can confirm there is nothing in the circuit (i.e. fuses, grounds, etc.) that would affect these items and these items only. Nothing that is, except for the MICU. The MICU is a module with relays built in to control the exterior lighting.I would definitely check the bulbs first, but if they are OK, suspect a problem with MICU. There were even recalls for it on various models. Here’s an article that will help you replace your check and replace your headlight bulb: How to Replace a Headlight That Has Burned Out

My brake lights on my 1966 VW Beetle stopped working. Any suggestions on how to fix this problem?

Four areas I would look in order of where I most think your problem is.

1. Look for a bad earth. What you are describing ("...he right/left hand indicator light on the speedometer lights up") is generally a sign of a bad earth, the current being forced to take another route hence the lighting up of indicator warning lights.

2. Bad electrical connection or you have a short to earth. I think more probably bad connection rather than short to earth.

3 . Both globes are faulty (blown). Can happen.

4. The brake light switch at front of master cylinder is faulty. (However would not explain why indicator lights are lighting up)

In my 2004 hyundai elantra, what fuse contols the dash lights?

Every car has different structure, so I can suggest only that you will need to get the factory service manual for that car, which will include the wiring diagram, and you should be able to easily find what fuse that is.

Brake light and abs light came on at the same time on my dodge ram 1500 4 door truck?

If it has 4 wheel ABS the red brake lamp (which is normally reserved for the parking brake) will come on by default with the yellow ABS lamp whenever the ABS module detects a problem, so it's normal to see both lights at the same time. All it means is the ABS Module has detected a fault in the system. When this happens the module will light the warning lamps and inhibit ABS operation but your service brakes wont be affected.
You need to have it scanned by a shop with proper diagnostic equipment, there will be a code that points you in the direction of the problem.
Usually you will find a bad wheel bearing or speed sensor but there are allot of other possibilities.
If you want to check the basics yourself you can jack up the front wheels and check for play in the front wheel bearings. Check the speed sensor wiring from the hubs up to the fender wells for chaffing or breakage and check the wiring to the sensor on the rear differential, that one gets caught by brush or snow and damaged pretty regularly. Other than that you will need a scan to get to the problem.
Best of Luck!

What would cause both my turn signals to flash at the same time?

Two conditions generally are the cause of this problem.

A short in the blinker circuit. Most likely at the blinker switch.

O

You may have a bulb that is about to blow or blown.
Pull the bulbs out, inspect them, clean them and reinstall using new bulb grease in each socket. Make sure the sockets and bulbs are corrosion free. If they are corroded, clean them with ELECTRIC PARTS CLEANER. CFC makes a cleaner for this that won't hurt the plastic coating of the wiring. Keep it off the car's paint.

IF the problem goes away, you are done. IF not, turn the blinkers on and off, checking both sides. You may find one blown or weak, replace as necessary. If you aren't sure, move the bulbs to other sockets and retest.

If none of this corrects the problem, pull the switch and replace it. Some auto parts stores have the capability to test the switch, ask them to before purchasing a new switch.

I hope this helps. If you have additional questions, please repost.
