Jehovah's Witnesses, Do you celebrate April Fools Day?

Hello Queen, :) Well, it is possible that it is connected to a pagan background as many things are. BUT more than that, it is all about tricking someone. I am not saying that is always bad. And, I have been involved in surprise parties which can be a lot of fun, however, there really is not a reason to get involved with this. I just turned the TV on last night and couldn't believe this program. The guy wanted to propose to his girlfriend so they orchestrated this whole scene where he takes her to a place for dinner and she is not aware of it but they have all these extras and they are going to dance and sing, then he is going to ask her to marry him, flies family members and friends in from out of state, this is all done in front of everyone in the WORLD, which to me is like a spectacle and takes the precious moment to another level; then finally at the end, he says "Let's get married right now". Anyway, you had to see it but the WORST part of all, in the beginning they are sitting at the table ordering a drink and the actress a cute girl in a short skirt comes up to him hugs him, pretends she is the ex-girlfriend, acts upset that he is even with this current girl friend. So, needless to say the girl is totally confused and upset. As if that isn't horrible enough, as they are discussing what just happened and she is asking him "Who is that girl???" The girl comes back, throws a glass of water in the guys face and says "you can have him!". Then the girlfriend start crying and it all shook, the owner of the restaurant is trying to calm her down (of course this is all done in FUN, HA!!). The so-called cop breaks into a song, and the whole thing plays out. In other words, would this be wise of a Christian to act this way just to have fun or propose to someone you LOVE????? I didn't mean to get so wordy but I just couldn't believe my eyes on that show (new Howie Mandel). A scripture for you:

John 17:16 They are no part of the world, just as I am no part of the world.

Christian Witnesses of Jehovah strive to be no part as much as possible.

Of the Proverbs found in the Bible, which do you find most applicable to modern life?

Of the Proverbs found in the Bible, which do you find most applicable to modern life? Thanks for A2A.The book of Proverbs in the Bible gives us the reason why it was written: “for gaining wisdom and instruction; for understanding words of insight; for receiving instruction in prudent behaviour, doing what is right and just and fair.” (Proverbs 1:2-3). And the beginning of wisdom is “fear of the Lord” (verse 7). Fear is a translation of the Hebrew “yi-rat”, which has a broader meaning than being frightened. Because in another scripture we are told that perfect love casts out fear, because it concerned with fear of punishment (1 John 4:18). Yirat is concerned with worshipping God, that we do not deserve to be before God, that Jesus took on the terrible burden of dying for us and it is awed by the burden of what we need to do, to be, in order to please God. It is taking on that burden of doing what is “right, just and fair”, even though we fall short. This proverb is for all time, not just modern. Modern people may think that they do not need to respect and honour God, which has been a problem from the beginning when Adam and Eve chose to go their own way. Since then we have been called to repentance, to turn away from being people who disregard and not fearing God.

Do you believe same sex preferences are a sin? Where in the Bible does it discuss the sin of being gay/lesbian?

Gays and lesbians do not have a choice. Bisexuals choose whether they are gay or straight. Do you believe that sexual preference is innate or learned? Do you choose to be straight and fight off thoughts of making love with a same sex partner due to your religious upbringing? Where in the Bible does it discuss the sin of homosexuality and lesbianism? Do you feel as if this behavior is a choice, like we choose between good and bad behavior? Do you think that people who choose to be gay/lesbian are choosing evil over good? Does the choice to be gay/lesbian anger God? Why is God angry with gay and lesbian behavior? Does homosexuality and lesbianism fall under the category of "hate the sin, love the sinner"?
Please cite chapter and verse as to where in the Bible homosexuality and lesbian behavior is discussed?
