What Does It Mean When Xbox Live Service Is Limited

What does it mean when Xbox Live Service is limited?

When the site says that service is limited, then it means that something isn't working quite right for all people. In this case, it's the Kinect National Geographic TV system which isn't working all that well (notice how that is the only one that says it's having a problem). Since Xbox Live Core Services aren't having a problem (notice how it doesn't have an error symbol next to that, and it doesn't have any text about errors with that, that is working mostly fine.

Now as for your problem, do you have Xbox Live Gold? Are you an underage account with a parental account preventing you from playing that game? Perhaps there is a privacy setting that is preventing you as well.

What does "Service Alert" mean on Xbox Live?

The "Service Alert" means that Xbox Live is having some kind of connection issues. On 5/30/2014 the Xbox Live changed to "Limited". Members may experience problems "Joining other Xbox Live members in online games" on the Xbox One and Xbox 360.

You can check the status here: http://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-live-status

So it's probably not your Internet connection. If you are still having the problem after Xbox Live is fully up then it's most likely your Internet.

Do I need to pay for Xbox Live on my Xbox One or is it free?

There are two Xbox Live memberships: free and gold.  In the past, you needed a gold membership to do just about anything on Xbox Live, including use entertainment apps like Netflix or ESPN.  That's changed recently: now you can use a free account and still access streaming video apps and things like Skype.  A free account also gives you access to the market, where you can buy games.  You'll need a gold account for multiplayer. Xbox recently changed gold accounts to be a little better bargain by offering "Deals with Gold" and "Games with Gold", programs which offer discounts on some games and content.   A gold membership costs $60 dollars a year, which as others have noted comes out to $5/month. Here's a link to a decent chart showing what you get with a gold subscription:  Xbox Live Gold. I could not find anything that directly compared what you can do with a free account.  Microsoft also has a FAQ for Xbox Live gold memberships here:  Xbox Live Gold Changes FAQ.

Can you get Xbox Live Gold for free?

There are many ways in which you can get an xbox live gold subscription for free, but they are not always guaranteed to work. You can get an Xbox Live gold sub as a gift from someone close and that will be free as gifts generally do not cost money (sorry, for the lame point but had to include it as being free of cost is involved)There are a lot of PTC websites in the internet, my favourites being NeoBux and ClixSense. With the money you get from these websites you can buy an xbox live gold subscription (I consider it free as all you have to do to get money from NeoBux is by completing some simple mini jobs)There are other websites like Swagbucks which have their own virtual currency which can be be used to get a subscription.Giveaways are another great way of getting stuff for free like your subscription. But as you know, the probability of winning a giveaway is very low, considered the amount of people who take part in them. Also most are fake so enter giveaways from genuine websites only. The ones done by youtubers can be trusted. There are some apps in Google Play and the IOS app store which pay you for trying out games. They too use virtual currency and their currency can be used to get an Xbox Live Gold card although it will take time as their earnings are much less as compared to the other options. If you live in India and are a fast food junkie with strong digestion, without much care for health then there is a more fun way. Pick up a Sprite bottle(at your mom's expense of course) or any other such product and use the provided PayTM code to get an instant cash back of Rs 30. Drink 25 such bottles and you get the full amount of money required for a three month Xbox Live gold subscription. Collect the money for the next 3 month subscription by having 8 soft drinks every month for 3 months. (Not quite healthy but nothing is greater than gaming for gamers lol). These are the ways of know of getting an Xbox Live Gold subscription for free but there may be other better ways to, that I don't know of. If you ask me options 1, 2 and 6 are highly recommended. Thanks for reading and please upvote if this was helpful in any way. Cheers :-)

How do i convince my parents to let me get xbox live??

Well tell your parents its only $50 a year so its not really a monthly charge if you buy it all at once instead of 3 month cards
