What does BDSM mean to you?
Bondage, discipline, domination, submission, sadism, masochism. My husband and I are incredibly close, thanks largely in part to BDSM. Personally, it means loving and trusting someone enough (my husband/Master) that I will submit to him completely. Who the hell knows. I’m a paraplegic - in a (wheel)chair due to a mid to lower spinal cord injury. I can’t walk, but I move 2–3 times faster than anyone who does. If I can’t reach something on a store shelf, I either grab something and knock it off in my hand, or say, “hey, tall person - wanna grab that for me?” Both methods work well.I’m guessing the term means, “an inabilty to do something the same way most people do it.” Of course, then you have to define “same way” and “most.” It’s a nicer term than cripple I guess. Well, it is. Nobody but the occasional uneducated or older person who doesn’t get out much really uses that term anymore.The problem with one term to discribe such a large category is, when you say it, it doesn’t really tell you anything. If you tell somebody that someone has a disability, they then have to ask, what type, kind, etc. If you say someone is in a chair, you’ve told them something.I also heard that instead of saying someone is “disabled” you’re supposed to say, “they have a disability.”Whatever.

I'm looking for an outsider's opinion on something. There is a guy I'm interested in and he says he's also into me. I'm not rushing into making this anything but just trying to figure him out a little :) When we were talking yesterday, he surprised me by saying something to the effect of "yeah my mom really likes you by the way". I've never met his mom before, lol. He mentioned he had been telling her about me and she said I sounded really sweet and down to earth. I was shocked he already mentioned me to his mom. He was raised entirely by his mom and he tells me they're close and he talks to her about stuff. Is it a good thing he talks to her about me? Agree on housekeeping standards, like how promptly dirty dishes need to be dispositioned and how, like who cleans the bathroom, like how often baseboards get scrubbed. Agree on things like whether relatives can some stay with you and how long. Agree on whether the weekend is for dealing with responsibilities or for blowing off responsibilities and having fun. Most important of all, (1) agree to deal with disagreement calmly and constructively, not by fighting or saying mean things and (2) make sure that BOTH of you are very much willing to sacrifice for the other while being reluctant to allow the other to sacrifice for you. Either have a long engagement or postpone engagement until you're well prepared for marriage. Marry in haste; regret at leisure.
