What is meant by Request for Quote(RFQ)?

RFQ is a process a buying organization uses to invite suppliers to bid on products and services they wish to procure. The goal is to be able to compare the different offerings presented by suppliers. It is strongly recommended to negotiate for better prices and terms even after the selection of the most favorable supplier. Special care must be taken to focus on potential Total Cost of Ownership and not solely on price. Quality, timeliness of delivery and responsiveness are other powerful factors to consider.I hope it will be helpful for you. Thanks & RegardsDavid MillingtonDirector of Education (Next Level Purchasing Association)

Why did the Oneida Nation support the Patriots during the American Revolution?

The Oneida were part of the Iroquois Federation, an alliance of six tribes: Cayuga, Mohawk, Oneida, Onondaga, Seneca and Tuscarora in what is now New York State. Four of the six decided to support the British, thinking that the British, despite two centuries of injustice, were more likely to honor tribal land claims that had been previously recognized by the the King and Parliament (e.g. Royal Proclamation of 1763). A key leader of this group was the Mohawk chief Thayendanagea, aka Joseph Brant, who had been educated in England and was close to the family of the British superintendent of Indian affairs. He had fought with the British at the Battle of Lake George during the French and Indian War. The British agents also had more resources than the Americans with which to bribe tribal leaders in return for support. The other two tribes, the Oneida and Tuscarora, decided to support the Americans, largely due to the efforts of the American Indian agent James Dean and a Presbyterian missionary Samuel Kirkland. The opposing tribes made war between themselves as well as against the American and British militaries and the civilian population. The most prominent battles involving the tribes were at Fort Stanwix and Oriskany, and at Bennington and Saratoga.

Does any one know what those stand for? I know the Lion is courage and the blue is loyalty so what are the 6 pointed stars meaning? Help! I would like to know as i need to work the meaning into the tattoo.

This is for the Peterson Family Shield/Crest from Sweden.

How long does it take First-Class Mail to arrive?

I can’t really add anything to the actual process of mailing a letter that the other excellent answers haven’t already covered. But, I will give you a couple of hacks to get your mail to the location faster. This only works if you live near a very large processing facility.I lived in Oviedo, FL but the nearest large processing facility is in Orlando, FL by the airport. If you mail it AT THAT FACILITY, they will sort it and send it out the same day if you meet the cut-off times on the mail box. This will save you the time it would take locally to sort and process it and save 1–2 days in the process.I now live in Nothern Viriginia near Washington DC. There are 2 large facilities near me. Merrifield, VA and Dulles, VA (think airport as in IAD).If I mailed anything at Merrifield, it takes 2–3 days to get to any destination on the East Coast that I have sent things to. If I mail it at the Dulles facility, it cuts that down by 1 day. If I go local, it goes through 2–3 transfers which can add an extra day or two to the process. But, for less than fifty cents, who else is going to take your first class letter ANYWHERE?

CS Lewis has a Luther quote—"drive the devil away" by scorn. But I can't find where he got it from. Source?

CS Lewis's quote of Mart Luther is, "The best way to drive out the devil, if he will not yield to texts of Scripture, is to jeer and flout him, for he cannot bear scorn."

I know Luther said in his Introduction to the Large Catechism:

"Now, for this reason alone you ought gladly to read, speak, think and treat of these things if you had no other profit and fruit from them than that by doing so you can drive away the devil and evil thoughts. For he cannot hear or endure God's Word; and God's Word is not like some other silly prattle, as that about Dietrich of Berne, etc., but as St. Paul says, Rom. 1, 16, the power of God. Yea, indeed, the power of God which gives the devil burning pain, and strengthens, comforts, and helps us beyond measure."

But I don't think that is what you are looking for. I find it hard to find the exact quote that I hear because either someone misquotes him or its translated differently.

Philip Schaff in his book "History of the Christian Church Vol III (THE GERMAN REFORMATION FROM THE DIET OF WORMS
TO THE PEASANTS’ WAR, a.d. 1521–1525.)" has the following:

"But, after all, the Devil has no real power over believers. He hates prayer, and flees from the cross and from the Word of God as from a flaming fire. If you cannot expel him by texts of Holy Scripture, the best way is to jeer and flout him. A pious nun once scared him away by simply saying: "Christiana sum." Christ has slain him, and will cast him out at last into the fire of hell."

I would obtain a copy of Schaff's book and back track his sources.
