What Dreams Does Li Po Describe In His Poems

What are some of the best poems with a dreamy feel?

Subjective, but a great deal of South American Poetry has this quality, from William Carlos Williams to Neruda. Rainer Maria Rilke also employed a very loose and emotive style. Li Po, a Chinese poet, was specifically fixated on a dream-like state, often aided by alcohol. Finally, Walt Whitman’s meditations on nature tend to evoke a higher conscious or ethereal qualities. Specific poems are going to be up to the reader, but these authors are a fairly good starting point if one is looking for a dreamy quality to the writing.

What poems do you like to read in the morning, and why?

I actually wrote a poem titled Morning glories, of course dedicated to morning. JUST WHEN YOUR ALARM CLOCK STARTS BUZZINGReluctant you, keep that snoozingGive it a thought then…Coz the blues are the morning gloriesHow the beautiful sunrise welcomes youWake up with the early sunshineHow the chirpy birds are greeting youListen to that and stop your whineThank your GodThe darkness is goneHold on to the fragile dreamsLife is waiting for your add onsSmile, a late night message is there on your phoneSent from loved one, to make you feel specialSmile, also because someone needs youSomeone is sad with fits of dismalAdmire the blooming flowerLeaf shimmering with a drop of dewGo, get a refreshing showerAnd there your coffee brewsUmpteen reasons to wake up smiling for the dayIf you don’t find even one, keep on searchingThe morning came only after going through the nightAnd brace yourself, it’s you now, enjoy the moments and leave the cursingImage source The reason I like it because my friends and family members found it very motivating (although I see a lot of corrections that can be done here). Some of them are totally not a morning person, and this poem helped them realise the beauty of morning. They read it every now and then to kick start the day (or may be they are just being too nice to me? haha!). So I am counting on their likes for putting the poem here! :)

Dreaming of li po(2)?

What the poem does is its meaning.

How do I know if I'm dreaming or actually conscious?

The distinction is clear. If there is doubt then there are such things as being in a fugue state, or shock, or dissociation.
If you are able to summon your 5 senses then you are conscious. Which, by the way, summoning the 5 senses is an excellent way to bring yourself back from drifiting out of reality.

What are some common themes found in ancient Chinese poetry and literature?

I'm working on a research paper and I have to explore developments in literature in early China. I've already gathered some books and articles to research, I'm just wondering what topics I should focus on to develop my outline. Organizing my ideas has always been my hardest obstacle. Once I can get my ideas on paper I'm good to go. Any suggestions?
