What Drug Has Continue To Decline Among High School Seniors

How did the "cool kids" from your high school turn out?

Well, I've only been to two highschools. The one I'm currently going to, and one in the U.S.I called a friend to help me out, since I still have a year book, I asked her what happened to these so called “cool kids”, and how they turned out after 3 years.Credit to her for helping. That one guy who bullied everyone:He landed in a jail for beating up a girl last year. The guy who always wanted to fight everyone:Also jail. The one popular girl, who called everyone a slut:She had 12 boyfriends, and has two kids. So who's the slut now?The one fat kid, who was kinda a nerd:He lost weight, and now has a girlfriend. The one girl who everyone kinda liked. She moved back to Russia after the school year. That one slavic foreign smartass guy, who was pretty chill:He does comedy standups for the schools talent show every year, everyone likes him.The guy who everyone bullied:He now plays football, and he's pretty muscular. The guy who people knew, kinda liked who was a dancer:He moved back to Ukraine, but would always dance with this other guy sometimes. The short Mexican kid nobody could understand:He learned English, now plays soccer. Who also has girlfriend. The gangster wannabe guy, who always got into fights:Got changed with assault and shoplifing. He got two years of probation, and three months of jail. The guy who was kinda quiet, funny, who always would dance with the Ukrainian guy:He moved back to Russia with his sister and family. Also is a master in the art of smartassery. (Take a guess who that is.)The nice girl who could beat the hell out of anyone, was close friends with only a few people:She has a job, she volunteers at hospitals, and vets. She also pretty much helped this answer. The small group of Russians:They do the same stuff, just more mature and friendly (Pst remember, this school had a lot of Slavic people in it.)The anorexic girl people bullied:She sadly committed suicide. The one kid who was a greaser. He's a friendly badass. He has a girlfriend too.The girl who plays a lot of instruments. She creates her own music, and she wants to be a music artist..This concludes my list. And thanks to my good ol' comrade for helping out with this answer.

What can be done about Americans’ declining life expectancy?

”Done” by whom?A large portion of the decline is due to bad individual choices. Ultimately people need to understand the consequences of the choices they make that lead them to reduced life expectancy. For example, sedentary lifestyle coupled with unhealthy food. (This has actually been my personal challenge, which I’ve started addressing, as a result of a “constant business travel lifestyle.” I’m making some major changes in the way I live and work as a result, because I can see and feel the impact on my health).Drug use is another one.For example, cigarette smoking has become socially unacceptable, but lots of useful idiots sing the alleged health praises of smoking marijuana. Marijuana not only isn’t some magical wonder health supplement (sorry to debunk that propaganda), but the smoke is actually worse for your health than tobacco smoke. There is more tar, preliminary research shows that pot smokers get emphysema much faster than cigarette smokers, and initial research also suggests that secondhand pot smoke is worse for health than secondhand tobacco smoke.Of course, other less socially endorsed drugs also damage health and shorten life.Violent choices are the third major thing to target. Lots of Americans die because they’re part of gangs and other violent organizations; it has to be made clear that your destination in those orgs is not top of the heap… but a body bag.The fourth major cause of death of young and middle aged men, in particular, is HIV. In fact, it’s one of the three leading causes of death of men who die between 24 and 65. IV drug use and unprotected promiscuous sex with other men are the two primary vectors; people need to be shown the consequences of their bad choices in these areas. IV drug use has got to go, and if you’re a user, you need rehab. Gay and bisexual men should avoid random hookups with strangers, use condoms, and ultimately enter monogamous relationships with a single partner who shares their serostatus. Most people say “government needs to pass laws to fix these things,” but laws are laughably ineffective. Laws against junk food have failed to curtail consumption; laws against drug use are laughable in most urban areas; tough laws against firearm ownership or use have been passed in most of the areas with gun violence… to no effect. And, of course, gay men have been targeted with laws against sexual contact with other men, unsuccessfully, up until the Supreme Court ended that practice in Lawrence versus Texas.

Teens: How would you improve Sex Ed in schools?

Hey, guys!

Teenage pregnancy rates are going through the roof at a whopping 7% of all girls ages 15-19. In my state, graciously recently crowned the state with the most teenage pregnancies, we're up to 10%. That's a gigantic number! The rates of young people contracting STDs is going up significantly as well.

There could be several reasons for this increase. But Sexual Education in schools all around the country is obviously not having too much of an impact. Recently, the trend has been a sort of "all in" kind of Sex Ed that focuses strictly on protection and family planning. There aren't enough statistics to suggest it's working, but if the recent increases are any indication, it's not.

So my question is this: How would you improve Sexual Education in schools across the country? Are we too cavalier about the subject? Not casual enough? Are we taking an impractical approach? Let me know!

Thanks, loves!

Do you have to pass drug tests in order to receive grants, scholarships, or participate in Study Abroad?

at our schools... many of the various programs require 4 drug tests per academic year... and they must all be clean... in order to continue your major & graduate -- my boyfriend is Health Information Technology major... upon acceptance to the program & before classes started, he had his first drug test & will be subject to a total of 4 per year that must all be random & also clean (won't be a problem for him)

my brother was drug-tested (as a music major).. 3 times in one semester... all 3 clean... before he was approved for Study Abroad

My cousin was scholarship'd for football... they did random drug tests on the whole team... if he failed a drug test, he would have lost both his spot on a nationally recognized college football team (have won national championships) as well as his scholarship

Why not put down the mj.... so you can make 100% certain this won't be a problem for you

How many alcoholics seek treatment per year?

Alcoholism is an extremely serious problem in our world today, meaning that public knowledge and understanding of its symptoms and effects is highly important to reduce the statistics that show rising numbers in its causal injuries, diseases, and fatalities. An estimated two-thirds of the American population consumes alcohol, but half of all the alcohol consumed in the country is consumed by only 10 percent of drinkers. In the United States, nearly 14 million adults, or every one in 13 adults, abuse alcohol or have an alcoholism problem. In addition, several million more partake in risky alcohol consumption that could potentially lead to abuse, and over three million American teenagers aged 14 to 17 have an alcohol problem. Compared to adult drinkers who start drinking around age 21, youth who begin drinking before the age of 15 are twice as likely to abuse alcohol and four times more likely to develop dependence on the drug. In fact, not only have 62 percent of underage high school seniors been drunk at some point, but 31 percent of them when asked will have drank in excess of five drinks over the course of the previous two weeks. The number of Americans aged 17 and younger involved in heavy alcohol consumption dropped by two-thirds between 1985 and 1997; although this number is continuing to decline, underage alcohol consumption is still a problem in the United States. The number of people who undergo alcohol treatment center mansfield tx and other alcohol-related problems is not nearly as high as the number of those facing these issues. In 1997, for example, only 3.1 million Americans received such treatment, and most of them were between the ages of 26 and 34. However, there are more than 3 million seniors in the United States who are alcoholics or struggle with serious drinking problems.

Why do a majority of older people with grand children vote against local school taxes?

As the others have said, it is almost always because of concerns they'll lose their ability to stay in their homes if the property tax is allowed to rise. Because they're often on fixed income, or have health issues (or watching them come on the horizon) they are terrified of having no place to go.This is something that legislators can accommodate, by excluding property tax raise of long term residents, people who are retired, people on disability, etc. etc. It's a more complicated package, but it is an important compromise to maintain community integrity. Of course it would have to have provisions like if the home changes hands, or if the owners are deceased then the tax rate jumps to the current level.
