What Engine Should I Put In A 99 Mitsubishi Eclipse

Can I put a mitsubishi lancer evolution engine into 95 mitsubishi eclipse?

how is this even a query? i assume which you have a non quicker engine (called the 420a, this is the comparable engine discovered interior the stay sparkling of neon). the suitable, maximum attainable determination could be to place in the engine from the swifter eclipse, the 4g63T, this is without postpone with regard to the engine from the Lancer evolution(evo). in spite of if, you additionally can purchase a quicker equipment for the 420a or deploy the engine from a stay sparkling of neon SRT-4.

Can i put a turbo in my mitsubishi eclipse RS 99 non turbo?

It is a beater. Get your own facts straight. It's a 99 RS rocking a 420a straight from Chrysler. Has it been done? Yes. Will you do it? No. You don;t have a damn clue about what a turbo is, how it works, why it works that way, the proper modifications required to install one, etc. You want it because they make "super cool sounds" and "make you super fast like those guys in the movies."

I won't even recommend buying a turbo model. You have a long way to go with understanding automotive theory (turbocharger theory comes AFTER you learn how a combustion engine works). Only then will you understand what purpose a turbo serves. If you don't like my answer, then by all means buy a $1000 kit on ebay, pay someone $2000 to install it, and come running back here 2 weeks later when your engine blows from sucking in chunks of your ebay compressor wheel., let alone the massive amounts of boost you'll want to be throwing at a stock high comp engine.

95-99 mitsubishi eclipse LANCER EVO engine?

theoretically you can do anything. can you do it easily? no.
first off, the engine in the evo while being the same engine designation as that which came in the gsx and gst, mounts differently. the hood buldge which allows clearance for the timing belt cover would be on the wrong side. you could go to the trouble of fabricating mounts to work because the gsx/gst mounts will NOT work.
if you have a gst/gsx already, you would be better off just building it up. you can easily match the performance of the evo motor without doing much as far as internals. a bigger turbo, intercooler, injectors, fuel pump, and a good tune would get you in the range of the evo. with my gst i am currently putting down 300hp to the wheels with an evo3 16g, walbro 255 fuel pump, fic 720cc injectors, manual boost controller, chipped eprom ecu, 3" turbo back exhaust, 2g maf, and ported manifolds. a fmic and better charge pipes should help me bump up the power quite a bit because right now i am choked by the stock intercooler.
if you have the eclipse with the 420a, your best bet would be either to turbo it, which will take a bit of work to come close to evo performance. i personally think you would be better off selling the car and buying a gsx.
anything is possible though, i have seen an eclipse with a caddy northstar swap

Can I put GSX engine in my GS (98' mitsubishi eclipse)?

The engines go in, in two different directions it's a real hassle. I'm not saying it cant be done nut, you could just buy a GSX for the money your going to spend. I've researched it alot(I own a 99 GS). Try this forum: team-2g.com. There's alot of info on there.

EDIT: The engine bays are different, the transmission on a 420a goes on the completely opposite side than the 4g63 so there's a partial opening on the different sides depending on the engine, the motor mounts are in completely different places so you would need to get rid of the old ones and put on new ones. You would need to change your flex plates. And I would just keep the 420a cause3 the 4g63's are well known for their crankwalk.

Should I put a turbo on a 99 eclipse GS that has 100k on the engine?

I'm sure you know that engines don't last forever. In this understanding, go for it. As long as you deem the engine to be in relatively good health, a little boost won't hurt it. Change the head gasket to a metal one when you do the job, and don't push more than 5-6 lbs on a naturally aspirated type engine.

Here is the thing though. Don't spend 3500 bucks. No way. Go to a junk yard and find a turbo car that has been totalled, but has good turbo parts. Get a small turbo for the best results. Maybe a old mazda turbo, or a turbo from a GST or GSX eclipse. This way, you only spend like 200-300 bucks for the whole setup. Then, when it does go kablooey, and it will, you won't feel so guilty for dropping 3500 bucks on it. As long as you maintain it and give it good oil and high octane fuel, you should get a few good years out of it and have a blast the whole time.

If it is "stuck" in 4WD, then there are problems with your transfer case and you need to take your vehicle to an experienced shop. It may be something as simple as a solenoid, or something as complex as needing your entire transmission rebuilt or replaced. There's simply no way to tell without opening the tranny pan and having look.DO NOT delay.Take your vehicle in to get it troubleshot ASAP.

99 eclipse gs can i put the stock turbo in?

No. When you add a turbo, you are adding more air into each cylinder by force, and your computer adjusts your fuel accordingly for each unit of air that comes in (when you hit the pedal). In cars w/o stock turbo's, there ecm only reads air at regular sea level psi, and that turbo increases that psi, so if you added it your computer wouldn't know whats going on basically and just guess at the fuel amount. You also have to change other things (depends on your turbo psi) such as injectors, your sensors, ecm. Adding a turbo requires alot of modification to a car if its aftermarket for the car. No offence but if i was gona soup up a car and make it a ricer racer i would do it with something other than mitsubishi. A good little car that i would look for is a toyota supra with the twin turbo's!

Can i put a turbo from a 99 eclipse gst on my stock 97 gs ?

Yeppers what he said. Different compression ratios, engine and ecu/wiring harness swap. Better off getting another gst or something. Always start turbo from the factory, youll be happier that way.

Can I put a Turbo Header on my 99 Eclipse GS.?

Mmm... I hope you know that only header and turbo is NOT the only things you are going to need, actually is going to be so expensive compared with stock GTS that will be no worth the money, you will miss other features as well.

You can use a car performance simulator to virtually do the mod and find out if its worth or not, and compare with a stock GST.
