What Exactly Can Megneto Do That Jean Grey Can

Can Jean Grey do anything Magneto can do?

Magneto doesn't control just magnetism, but EM fields. He can manipulate things which are excessively heavy, far more than Jean Grey. He can manipulate multiple objects at one time, far more than Jean, with more accuracy.

He can also manipulate EM fields to act as a force field, and he's nearly invulnerable. He can increase his own strength and durability to levels far beyond that of a normal human, and most other mutants. He can turn invisible by altering visible light. He's incredibly powerful in a variety of ways, and has more experience than Jean does.

She's only more powerful than Magneto in the form of Phoenix or Dark Phoenix.

Who would win - Magneto (before house of M) or Jean grey?

thank you for specifying which charcters you are talking about.

let's start by looking at the combatants:

jean grey- main powers- telekenisis and telpathy

magneto- control over metal and magnetic fields

THE FIGHT:

It is true that magneto and jean grey have similar powers. Jean grey however, can control more than simply metal. I cannot say though that this would give her an advantage. It seems by the comics, that jean has to concentrate more when moving objects than magneto does. and in a battle with magneto, time is something you cannot afford to waste. Jan's other power is telepathy.. Magneto's helmet was made specifically to block the telepathy of charles xavier as well as from other people. so jean's power is useless in that respect. Let's say jean had more to work with in terms of nonmetal objects, magneto has the ability to contol magnetic fields. he has used this in the past to create a powerful force filed of protection. this would block him jeans attcks, then he would use a magnetic blast to stop her.

WINNER: MAGNETO

Jean Grey and Magneto claim the same metal. Whose orders will the metal obey?

I think Magneto as he is more familiar with the metal. I dont doubt Jean is more powerful, especially if amped, but Magneto’s expertise would top Jean right here. We know he can hold her at bay for a bit when she is human. But I say Mag’s beats Jean at their normal power levels,(considering she couldn't solo him in the issue where Wolverine loses his metal) and especially if it came down to Jean wresting a metal object away.Hmm, if you are thinking MCU, that Jean Grey would probably rock Magneto’s world. I am very disappointing we didnt get the Ultimate version of Illandra’s Church of the Phoenix recruiting Jean.

Jean grey and the Pheonix?

Well that depends on what universe you're looking into. The X-men the Animated Series Phoenix/Dark Phoenix Sagas were pretty true to the original story. However the X3 movie was sooo off base.

Originally, the Phoenix entity replaced Jean Grey and helped save the world. It later came back, bringing Jean with it this time. But a villain called Mastermind tried to control her and ended up showing Phoenix all sorts of fun (read: evil) things it could do. So it became Dark Phoenix. Dark Phoenix eventually sacrificed itself again. Much later, Jean embraced the moniker Phoenix and her powers seemed to be growing. Later Magneto killed Jean, but she entered a place called the White Hot Room that was filled with other people (probably from other realities) who had been the Phoenix.

The best way to explain it is quote from Jean Grey: "I am always Jean Grey and I am always the Phoenix."

Apart from Jean Grey, Professor X, Wolverine, and Magneto, who are the most formidable mutants ever?

Asking about the most formidable mutants in Marvel is highly subjective.I'm not going to attempt a definitive answer, but I'll list a few of my favorites that don't come up as often.Legion, David Haller, is the son of Charles Xavier and Gabrielle Haller.David has demonstrated different powers over time, as well as highly distinct (and independent) multiple personalities.David has shown abilities ranging from pyrokenesis to at-will time travel to absolute control over every aspect of reality. No wonder his mind is a little unstable.Iceman, Bobby Drake, has been listed as an Omega mutant for a few years now. Even before that, he was formidable.Iceman can not only freeze almost any substance, he can generate ice well beyond the levels of moisture around him.He power works at almost any distance, typically limited by line of sight. His ice can take any shape with artistic precision. And his ability to generate both cold and ice allows him to remove the heat from almost anything. Also, in his ice form, he is nearly immortal.I'd never list Cannonball (Sam Guthrie) as one of the most powerful mutants around, but he deserves to be noted as formidable. When Sam is blasting, he is invulnerable. He is also damn near unstoppable. An unstoppable force moving at high speeds towards- and through- almost any obstacle sounds formidable to me.Dazzler, Alison Blaire, has been the butt of mutant jokes since she was created. The disco singer who makes a light show. But think about what she can actually do.Dazzler can absorb almost any amount of sound. She once absorbed Klaw by accident. Sonic weapons or solid sound are useless against her.Alison is one of the very few people in the Marvel Universe who can stand up to Black Bolt. It would be a strain, but she could do it.Dazzler could also help sneak a group into anywhere by keeping them totally silent. And the light she creates can involve harmless colors, blinding flashes, or burning lasers. And I'm putting Magik on this list because screw you, she's awesome.Illyana Rasputin has the mutant ability to create stepping disks that can transport her and others, through Limbo, across space and time.Or she can stay in Limbo. Either way.In addition, Illyana is the Sorceress Supreme and ruler of Limbo. She is a skilled sorceress and is no longer afraid of her abilities. Her soul-sword, the sword literally created by her magic from her own soul, can cut living beings as well as magical enchantments.

Who's better Jean Grey or Rogue?

as a character: Rogue
- She's kick ***
- she's got a more interesting character and background
- she has/did have Gambit as a bf (droools)
- greater checks and balances on her powers

Jean is boring, only interesting when she's dead or posessed by Phoenix, she's indecisive, she loves Scott (who's also boring and "perfect"), she's a teacher's pet with Xavier, just all around "blah" to me.

How does Jean Grey destroy Apocalypse?

In Marvel Comics, there are different power levels - Super trained humans, Enhanced human, Meta humans or Mutants, Omega level Mutant, Cosmic entities. These Cosmic entities or beings are on top of the food chain and have powers that are on galactic level. One of these cosmic being is Phoenix force, the force of life and creation. The child of the universe and the most feared being in existence. It destroys the old and creates new as it sees fit. To give example - it destroyed an entire solar system (absorbed the energy of D'bari star killing 5 billion) while it was in Jean Grey (Dark Phoenix Saga). Not only this, Phoenix force can also tap into future life force which will mean that the future generations will never be born but it will get limitless energy. It also brings life - A recent example would be of AvX story arc. After the events of House of M when mutant population was reduced to roughly 200 (after the no more mutants by Scarlet Witch), phoenix force came back to earth and by the time it went away, there were mutants again.Jean Grey is the most notable carrier of the Phoenix force. While in comics, there are many others who has played host to it, Jean is the only one in the movies so far. As per comics, the Phoenix force connected with a young Jean when she felt the power of her mind. It finally erupted as Dark Phoenix in comics. In movies as well, this power lies dormant within Jean and has been suppressed by Professor Xavier in 1st X-men trilogy. In current X-men series also, he is wary of Jean's potential power but there is no mention of blocking it.Coming to answer the question - This all powerful Phoenix force is what Jean unleashed on Apocalypse in the final scene of the movie. Apocalypse himself is a very powerful mutant, but simply no match against a power of this scale. If you re-watch the movie, you can see the bird shape at the end of the scene which is a symbol of phoenix force. It was Phoenix force who helped Jean in killing Apocalypse so easily, because for someone who can destroy entire worlds, it was very easy.If you are interested in Phoenix Force, check these links - Phoenix Force (Earth-616) and Phoenix Force (comics).
