What Famous Tourist Attraction Is Located In Pigeon Forage Tennessee

What are some good tourist attractions in Tennessee?

Well in no particular order there’s Beale Street, Graceland, Memphis Zoo, Mud Island, Sun Studios (cousin’s on the wall there, ahem, and all of Memphis, actually), Nashville (all of it), Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, The Ryman (the Mother Church of Country Music), the Grand Ole Opry, the Tennessee State Capitol, Bicentennial Mall, the Rockabilly Hall of Fame in Jackson, Dollywood, Chattanooga (all of it), Rock City (See Rock City because it’s required as advertised), Knoxville (a completely other world during football season that’s an absolute blast), Knoxville Zoo, Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, Bristol Motor Speedway, Mule Day in Columbia, Oak Ridge, Big South Fork River & Recreation Area, Rugby, TN, the Bluegrass Underground in the Caverns in Pelham, TN, Jack Daniel’s Distillery, the Hermitage, the Customs House and Museum in Clarksville, TN, Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Paris Landing State Park and a bunch of other stuff that’s not right off the top of my head but should be.

Is Pigeon Forge, Tennessee a good place to vacation with kids?

I think it is great but I have not been there since my childhood. There is almost “too much to do.” But it is a beautiful area.I was born in Virginia, though I am not sure Arlington or Fairfax County qualify as the “South” these days. I spent parts of many childhood summers on the Tenn/Virginia border at Hungry Mother State Park, which is a Virginia Park. It may be too late to get a cabin or camp ground there for the summer, but there are a lot of fun outdoor things to do. The Lake is great and clean, no motor-boating.

Non Tourist things to do near Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge, Tennessee?

I know those areas are tourist centered but we're from Orlando,Fl trying to have some fun and adventures we normally can't have in Fl.

We've looked at an ATV ride in the woods. Tubing at Ober Gatlinburg.
The space needle and the sky lift.

I'm sure well go to the smokey mountains national park.

We don't want to go to theme parks, dinner shows, ect. We're surrounded by that stuff back home.

But non of us have seen snow and are willing to drive for and adventure. Please help me out by giving me some other ideas on what we could do.

Have you ever visited Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg, Tennessee? If so, how was your experience?

A2A. Yes, I have visited that fine area several times. Late October and Early November was always a great time for the fall foliage.I remember the numbered traffic lights and staying in a hotel once down by Dollywood, although I never went to Dollywood. It’s a great atmosphere with people walking the strip at night. I also remember working through a shopping area that was new at the time near the first few traffic lights. It had a Thomas Kinkade Gallery, an assortment of tourist shops and even a Harley Davidson store.I worked through the surrounding areas as well, and remember Townsend, Maryville, Sevierville, Alcoa, Lenoir City. Driving through Cades Cove was great and something to definitely do if someone is in the area (original buildings, wildlife).I remember a restaurant called the Soup Kitchen in Maryville (the original, I believe), right as you were heading to the mountains. They made some great homemade soups each day that you couldn’t find anywhere else. I went there several times, when I could. Later, I saw one in Cookeville and ate there too. A can’t miss, especially if it’s winter. All in all, I have good memories of the area. The only drawback I can remember was the lodging tax in Tennessee. The highest state I traveled. I remember 17% being nothing unusual, depending on the city and county tax added. Some states were much lower. I thinking, what are they trying to do, run everybody off? If they were, I wouldn’t blame them. I enjoyed talking with people of all places and Tennessee was no exception. I would sometimes start some crap just to liven things up. Glad I don’t do that anymore.I would give Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg Four Stars for a great place to take a family vacation. I’m not sure I would go right now though, might see too many darn MAGA hats and get in a tussle down at the Harley store. Thanks for asking Lisa.

How much money should I take on Vacation to Pigeon Forge, TN.?

When i went we stayed in one of the cabins @ americanpatriotgetaways.com and we loved it. I cant answer anything about Dollywood, but the town is awesome. If you attend some shows it may cost you a little more. I would recommend 300 dollars if you hang out for a couple of days or a weekend. You can eat good, play some games and see some of the sites. Good luck and have fun.

Is Pigeon Forge Tennessee a good place to live?

Pigeon Forge is a great place to live. My family recently sold our summer home there and big regret!! They bought in the 70's and I watched it grow to where it is now. The people are friendly and the views breathtaking. The economy is good there due to the tourism, jobs are easily obtained and the county of Sevier is pretty much on their toes for its residents. In my opinion; pack up and go country!!
Hope this helps...

Road-trip Attractions! KY to SC?

From experience - we've traveled the route you are going when we've traveled from Kansas to Myrtle Beach as we own oceanfront property in Myrtle Beach on the new boardwalk. We go two different routes - through Atlanta and the northern route through Smoky Mountains - we prefer going across the Smokies as it's prettier scenery....

If I were you, I'd check out the following:
Corbin, KY - beautiful Cumberland Falls (Little Niagara of the south) and Kentucky Fried Chicken museum there in Corbin
Definitely go across the Smoky Mountains! (absolutely awesome, breathtaking scenery)
Dollywood - Pigeon Forge, TN and Gatlinburg area - many other family things to do there.
Chimney Rock near Asheville NC (this is AWESOME!)
Cherokee, NC - Native American Museum (we've been there - very interesting!)

By the way, the new SkyWheel is being built on the boardwalk in Myrtle Beach.... should be finished next month. Check out Bay View Resort on the boardwalk - condos and family oriented.
Have fun!!!!!!
