What Flag Is Blue Red And White

Why are so many flags red white and blue?

Well, these people certainly don't know. Although all countries fabric- I mean "propose", their own stories of why their flags use their exact colours and design, the actual reason is much simpler than the standard"icebergs/mountains/sea/courage" explanation. You see, the tricolor is the tradtional colours of liberalism, like red is the traditional colour of socialism and blue is the traditional colour of consrvativism. In autocratic 18th-century Europe, all revolutionaries were designated liberals, so they used those colours in their flags when they rose to prominence in the late 18th-19th century. The tradtional colours of the tricolor is red, white and blue, apart from in the British Isles, where it is green, red/orange and white (used by British Republicans and Ireland).

If you look at those countries you listed, most are republics or constitutional monarchies. Norway's and Iceland's flags however, are simply a cross between the Danish and Swedish flags (the original flag of Norway was a rampant golden lion on a red background), and the British flag is a combination of the red and white English flag and the blue and white Scottish flag. The remaining monarchies adopted these colours in their new flags so as to show the people how modern and democratic they were.

Why is the U.S. flag all blue and white?

To simplify, and for consistency in my efforts, I have pasted the relevant portions off my own answers to similar previous questions.*pasted Please, for your own display and conversations pertaining to other’s display, refer to the Flag Code, via the link I will provide at the end *(1).I believe what you are referring to black (it may be more grey, in appearance) and white flags, with a blue (there are several other colors, as well) stripe, in place of a white stripe.*the remainder of this answer is pasted from a previous answer, of mineThe subdued colors, of what would otherwise be a US Flag, started, I believe, as a measure for the US Military forces. The ordinary flag colors of red and blue stand out. When on a combat uniform, this poses a serious problem for those personnel. The subdued color flag has now been transformed to a simple black and white flag, with a stripe of numerous colors, to “honor” fallen personnel of the several military, uniformed, and civil service forces. Each color, for those of a specific force. The easy ones to recall are: BLUE - police, RED - firemen. As part of one man’s answers to a rather similar question, the entire list, as he knows it, has been offered. As I have said, in response to at least one similar question, this appears to be a fully unnecessary alteration of the US Flag. The flag, of its own existence, has been sufficient to honor the fallen of all forces, since its creation, by the Second Continental Congress, on June 14, 1777 *(2). Please, refer to my answer history to locate that information. I had found a way to do that, at some recent point. For some reason, as I tried to assist you with this, I can not recall how I had gotten there. I appreciate the opportunity to offer this assistance.*(1) USFlag.org: A website dedicated to the Flag of the United States of America*(2) https://r.search.yahoo.com/_ylt=...

Is the English flag white and red or white, blue and red?

The flag of England is nationally and traditionally thought of as St. George’s Cross rather than any other, however some level of confusion is possible due to the ever increasing importance of the Great Britain and United Kingdom unions of which England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are part of at least one. There is some overlap so I’ll give the flags for the three overlapping levels of government that cover the nation of England. This is the actual nation of England that has the St. George’s Cross, a flag that is definitively white and red. This is the Union of Great Britain that includes England and Scotland collectively, not technically as a nation but you can practically consider it one as most of the world does. It uses the Union Jack which can at times seem counter-intuitive since it also includes components of the Northern Irish flag, the St. Patrick’s Saltire. And finally; The United Kingdom is the last and largest entity which covers England and also uses the Union Jack, despite both it and Great Britain incorporating it, but nonetheless, we can see that the flag is blue, white and red having incorporated aspects from England, Scotland and Northern Ireland. So we can definitively state that the English flag is only red and white and that the Union Jack just didn’t bother with the Welsh.

Why did the U.S.A. pick red, white, and blue as our flags colors?

Some of the early flag designs depicted the "union jack" in the spot where the field of blue and stars is now located, but we didn't want such a direct refrence to the British Empire in our flag. Still, the US was heavily infliuenced by the two world powers of the day, the French Empire, whose flag was Blue-White-Red, and the British Empire, whose flag was White-Blue-Red, so it only made sense that the US would choose similar colors
