What Foods Make People Less Racist

Is Whole Foods Inc. racist?

Sometimes I go to Whole Foods (a "natural, organic" type of food store in the U.S.). And I've noticed that virtually all the shoppers there are white. A very few Indian immigrants. I have only ever seen one black person there, and that appeared to be an actual African immigrant as opposed to an African American. Oh, and every employee I have ever seen there, without exception, has been young and white.

Does that imply some kind of racism? Seems that ethnic minorities all shop at Wal-Mart and the regional discount grocery store in this area.

If you don't like spicy food, are you a racist?

Apparently, toddlers in Britain can be branded "racist" if they don't like spicy food from other countries.

I'll admit it. I don't like Kim-Chi. However, that's only because it burns my throat and brings tears to my eyes - it's nothing personal against Koreans.

What do you think?

Why do people think its racist to not like Mexican food if you're white?

Of course you can like what you like, though saying an entire county’s cuisine is all bad is sort of a red flag. However…It’s not racist, it’s just hopelessly ignorant, provincial and a mark or not really having traveled anywhere (or of living in a place with a very poor selection of Mexican food options but not being super aware of this). It’s also a mark of an underdeveloped palate. Too many “grownups” in countries like the US never venture outside pizza and chicken nuggets, and to each their own, but the capabilities of the human palate go way, way beyond those “out-of-a-factory-box” flavors that are oversimplified so children like them (which is always a mistake - it doesn’t help them grow and mature their tastebuds). And I’ve also met enough people in the US who think Taco Bell is Mexican food and use that as a measuring stick, of which I’ve written before (in short - it’s not Mexican, and yes it’s horrible).I bet by now you wish I’d just said it was racist. Haha.Mexican food is actually an enormous variety of dishes inspired and informed by the cuisines of four different continents. It satisfies the palate of the first great globalized culture, so it has to satisfy people who like bland, spicy, tart, sweet, semisweet, smokey, different textures, and so on and so on and so on including all combinations. It also is one of the few cuisines with the distinction of being a world intangible cultural asset. See David Martinez's answer to Why is Mexican, French and Japanese cuisine specifically considered to be a cultural heritage of the world? Why not others as well?So might as well say you don’t like to eat. It’s very hard to try every single Mexican dish (I am a middle aged Mexican who likes variety and still haven’t), let alone make a decision on whether you like it as a whole or not.The good thing is that it is an easily solvable problem. It’s probablg best for you to decide what you don’t like about the Mexican food you have tried, travel there - no, not just to Cancún - and ask for alternatives (do you have anything that is not…). Or better yet, describe your favorite flavors and ask what in Mexican food caters to that.

Italy: Are Italians generally racist against black people?

Yes, Italians in Italy are very racist towards black people from any where around the world. They call black people stupid, monkeys, negretti, and negros. Also, they hate that there are people of african descent who speak English, Spanish or German. They make rude comments and assumptions about anyone who they assume is from Africa. Furthermore, they dont want to acknowledge any black americans (those whose ancestors were slaves) as being Americans or for having ancestry from two or three different continents (which most black americans have european and native american ancestry as well as african). From my experience, living in Italy, I've gathered that they hate all people of African descent. They love American culture, but exclude black Americans from the idea of America. They don't actually see us as being apart of American history…they stereotype the way we think, how we act, how we talk and everything else…and they get all their information from the media. In short, they view us as nationless Africans and they will say it out loud in Italian or in broken English. They also make up stuff too. I read a few articles written by italians about black americans. One article said that 90 something percent of black americans were muslims… which is obviously a lie that Americans would be able to catch. However, an average Italian reader, who does not have prior knowledge of our American history, will assume that that is the truth. Another article stated that there were not any mixed race children that came out of slavery or ever in America …Also, there was an article stating that black Americans were the most aggressive and vicious group. So, black americans deserved to be killed by officers and anyone else. Btw the black lives movement is the only thing besides poverty, crime, hip hop and southern accents/dialects that italians associate black americans with.I keep updating this…I want to give an honest answer, so that people will be aware of what Italians think of specific Americans and other nationalities. I had a genuine love for them from the time I was a little girl. I did not expect to be verbally attacked for my ancestry… and many people could care less if you understand the insults they hurl at you... In other words, if anything, they want you to understand. They just dont care for black people and I dont think they see us as being even human…
