What Football Matches Are Being Televised This Weekend

Why don't they show the cheerleaders on televised Football games?

Back in the 90's parent groups and other organizations filed complaints with the FCC concerning the sexy displays often offered by the NFL cheerleaders when the TV cameras pointed at them during time outs. Most of the complaints were directed at Fox and ABC which was doing Monday Night Football back then.

The networks were afraid of the FCC and the threatened boycotts of their advertisers so they caved and started prohibiting camera shots that focused only on the cheerleaders. You can still see the cheerleaders in the background but showing them doing dance routines or jiggling for the cameras isn't allowed.

I miss them.

Showing college cheerleaders has been curtailed by the networks as well but not to the extent they've done for NFL cheerleaders.

Why aren't all English Premier league football matches televised?

As far as I know, they are all televised. However, on Saturdays at 3pm local time in the UK which is the main fotball day, there are limits put in place on how they can be shown - especially on satellite / cable and most recently even online streaming. Each TV-network is allowed to choose one game to show live on satellite and streaming, they can choose one more for showing only on cable if they want (or so I've seen at least). The reason for this is to make people go to the stadiums and watch it live. This is how they want to keep the tradition of going to the game alive and well, I think it is a wise move with the current trend of watching things everywhere on phones. The games not chosen to be the main attractions are available for streaming/shown approximately 4 hours later in the case of Viaplay which is my only choice for EPL in Sweden (MTG/Viasat owns the rights here).

Do soccer (football) balls in professional televised games have microphones or something in them for sound?

I watch soccer games on fox soccer channel, goltv, setanta sports etc and it seems like there is a highly magnified sound every time a player kicks the ball, especially if they kick it hard it is a very loud thumping sound that is louder than everything else. I am wondering is there a mic or something in the ball that makes the sound so loud or is it like they are focusing a mic on the ball or something or is the sound just that loud?

Why does the UK have a scheduled soccer/football broadcast blackout on Saturdays at 3PM?

The football blackout follows the rule that no Premier League, Football League or FA Cup matches be broadcast on live television on Saturday between 2:45pm and 5:15pm. Games may be played on that day and on that time, but they are forbidden to be televised – with Saturday televised kick-offs mostly occurring at 12:30pm or 5:30pm.This follows a rule set in place since the 1960s when Burnley chairman Bob Lord successfully convinced fellow Football League chairmen that televised matches on Saturday afternoons would negatively impact the attendance of lower league games. He was convinced, for instance, that if Manchester United were to play Liverpool on Saturday at 3pm, fans of lower division teams would instead opt to watch the match on television instead of attend the match of the team they actually supported. As a result, the financial income of lower league football would be reduced.More than 40 years on, the rule is still in place. Foreign matches are also affected by the blackout – Sky Sports do not show the first 15 minutes of a La Liga match that kicks off at 5pm UK time.Until recently, the FA Cup final was an exception and had been broadcast at 3pm on a Saturday in May; however, in 2012, the FA Cup Final was moved to 5pm.To be in accordance with blackout rules, the final day of the Premier League has all ten games kick-off at the same time on Sunday at 3pm with the final round of Football League fixtures scheduled from 3pm onwards on a Saturday in order to broadcast multiple games.During the blackout period, live radio broadcasts are permitted both nationally and locally. It is also illegal for public houses such as pubs and bars to broadcast 3pm games via a live stream.

Is it allowed to record a football match on TV and upload it into YouTube?

No, of course not!According to YouTube’s Terms of Service and Community Guidelines, you are only allowed to post content that you created yourself or have permission to use.Under U.S. Copyright law, the person or entity which created the content has the copyright to the content, and they get to determine how any of that content gets distributed. These ought to be self-evident, especially since you had to agree to these terms to even use YouTube or upload videos. If you don’t follow those rules, at the very least you will get copyright notifications, and potentially a copyright strike (3 of those and your account’s terminated). But for football especially, I don’t even understand why you’re even asking. Did that big glaring bold print announcement that they air for at least 10 full seconds at the start of the program (which says they’re the exclusive licensor and copyright holder and that no part of their program may be broadcast or shared without their express permission) not make it clear and obvious enough? Did the copyright notice in the credits at the end (which also said the same thing) not make it clear enough? The NFL makes this abundantly and explicitly clear and goes out of their way to make sure it’s communicated because they take legal action against those who do it anyway. Also, Google’s AdSense program (the one that manages the monetization) also makes it abundantly clear that you can only profit from your own content. The only thing that could be worse than stealing other people’s content and redistributing it as your own without their permission (in violation of both the TV producer’s rules and YouTube’s) would be to try to make money off it, too. Not only would that violate everybody’s rules, but it would give them good incentive and a reason to sue you, too.

Why are most FA cup matches not broadcast, even though there is a huge interest both in Britain and globally?

The reason why in England the majority of games cannot be broadcasted is because of TV law. Broadcaster cannot show 3pm games on saturday in the UK.“ football’s TV blackout rule prevents live football matches from being televised between 2.45pm and 5.15pm on Saturday afternoons. The blackout rule was introduced during the 1960s when Football League chairmen believed televised matches had a negative impact on attendances at other matches being played at the same time”Source; Football TV Blackout RuleHere is a list of broadcasters that can stream the FA cup abroad:France: beIN SportGreece: TBCHolland: EredivisieNorway: TV2Iceland: 365 MediaDenmark: SBS MediaSweden: Viasat Austria: ORF (Final only) Belgium: Telenet & BETVGermany: EurosportItaly: Fox Portugal: Sport TVTurkey: TRT & TT NetMiddle East: BeIN SportIsrael: CharltonMexico, Guatalemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Dominican Republic, El Salvador: Sky MexicoBrazil, Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay: ESPNAustralasia: ESPNIndian Subcontinent: Sony Network Malaysia: AstroJapan FoxSouth Korea: SBSMyanmar: Shwe Lan Thin Sky NetIndonesia: BeIn, SCTV (Semi & Final Only) Singapore: SingTelVietnam: Ho Chi Minh TV; SCTV: VSTV, VTVPhillipines: BeIn Sport China: GDTV, Tencent (online), Sohu (Online) PPTV (online) and Sina (online)Russia: RTRArmenia: Armenian Second TV ChannelAzerbaijan: AZTVBosnia: SportklubBulgaria: Nova SportCroatia: SportklubCzech Republic: Nova Sport Georgia: SetantaHungary: Sport1 Kazakhstan: SetantaTajikistan: SetantaTurkmenistan: SetantaUzbekistan: SetantaKyrgyzstan: SetantaMacedonia: SportKlubMoldova: SetantaMontenegro: SportklubRomania: Pro TVSerbia: SportklubSlovakia: Nova SportSlovenia: SportklubUkraine: TRKPoland: OrangeUS & Caribbean: FOX Sports 1, FOX Sports 2 and FOX Soccer Plus Canada: Rogers Sportsnet Africa: SupersportThailand: BBTVMauritius: MBCSource:The website for the English football association, the Emirates FA Cup and the England football team

How many Premier League matches can be played in a day and at the same time?

How many Premier League matches can be played in a day and at the same time?In theory? 10.In practice? 4.Let me explain. It’s for telly. On Friday you’d show a 7:45 kick-off.On Saturday, you’d broadcast a 12/12:30pm and 5/5:15pm kick-off.On Sunday, you’d broadcast a 1pm 4pm and 7pm kick-off.That’s your 6 televised live matches.“But Dec” I don’t hear a voice say, “ what about the 3pm kick-offs on Saturday?”Well, voice in my head, British broadcasters aren’t allowed to broadcast matches between 2:30pm and 5pm, hence why El Classico is never broadcast. The exception to this rule is the FA Cup.So you’ve got your 6 live matches. The remaining 4 will kick-off at 3pm on Saturday and not be shown live in the UK.
