What Happen If I Get Caught Of Possession Of Weed When I Am Not A Us Citizen

What happens If you get caught with possession of illegal drugs in Basic Training?

Federal crime this would be jail in federal. No slap on the wrist.

Caught with less than a gram on UNSUPERVISED Probation. What is going to happen most likely?

Hey everyone. I'm a 20 year old guy. I am on Unsupervised probation for possession of marijuana. And recently I was in a fender bender, i was the passenger, cops where called. On the spot they asked for the driver's ID and mine as well. They pulled our records and whatnot. We proceeded to do insurance exchange and then the car that we bumped into was aloud to leave. No damage done to the vehicles. After they left the cops detained us. Another cop arrived on the scene. Then one of the cops said they smelt marijuana in the car. Eventually their persistence led to a search of the car and me and the driver. I had a small bag with less than a gram in it. They gave me a promise to appear in court for possession under 4. oz. I was very cooperative and even had a friendly conversation with the cops. We even had a few jokes. Pretty weird. Anyways, i was kinda worried about what the consequences might be. I am on UNSUPERVISED Probation which means I'm not to report to a PO and I don't have drug screenings but I was told not to get in trouble. Obviously I ****** up and have been caught again. I am a very law abiding citizen besides my personal use of marijuana which I have given up since the date that I was caught. Any info that is USEFUL would be nice.

What happens to American citizens caught in Mexico illegally? Are they imprisoned?

Usually, nothing - unless they’ve committed a crime, in which case their illegal pressence will be added as a charge. Although in theory police do can stop anyone on the streets on suspicion of being an illegal immigrant and ask for papers (which is cried foul when done by US police - I know, I know, the big hypocrisy of Mexico’s government is incredible) they rarely, if ever, stop a white-looking dude - or a black person whose accent marks them as coming off North America or Europe (Afro-Mexicans mostly live in states along the coasts and thus speak similarly to Caribean folk, they’re usually identifiable from other black folks as well). Most policemen or polititians don’t care at all about European or North American people staying indefinitely in the country: I’ve known some USonians and Canadians who’ve over-stayed their tourist visas for months; and also a German who overstayed for YEARS (yes, that’s right, years - he even lost his passport at one point) and survived giving off private English and German classes - as he didn’t have his papers in order, he couldn’t get a formal job. There’s a lot of classism involved as well. A guy with a Central or South American accent who’s dressed in poor clothes walking down the street will immediately be suspected to be an indocumented immigrant intent on crossing to the USA - so he’s fair game for any policeman to go and extort (they usually ask these people to either prove their Mexican nationality, demonstrate they entered legally, or produce money - else they’ll call immigration). But a guy with the exact same accent wearing nice clothes will be mostly ignored - I’ve known Peruvians, Brazilians and a couple of Central Americans who entered the country legally, overstayed their visas and lived illegally for years and still never had any trouble - they even were able to somehow get formal (or semi-formal) jobs.

What happens if I am caught with weed at an airport?

I was with a friend who had a small bag of weed he says he didn’t realise was in his toiletries bag, about 20 grams in think. He didn’t seem concerned when he walked past sniffer dogs so maybe he didn’t know about it. The Dog walked up to him and just stood at his feet next to the bag and looked at him at which time the handler came up and asked if he could examine his bag, asked if he packed it etc etc.they took him aside and went through his bag, opened his toiletries bag and found his weed. His eyes opened like diner plates and they asked him if it was his and he said yes but he thought he lost it. They separated us and took him to a room and asked him some more questions but didn’t ask me much. He came out about 15 minutes later with a warning and was allowed on his flight with me.

What happens if you get caught smoking marijuana as a tourist in Dominican Republic?

Drug possesion or consumption is very tough in the Dominican Republic. If arrestedm, you can go to jail or be deported, or both. I know many who sell marijuana at the resorts, but good judgement is required. Dealers like to sell to tourists and if you do the transaction in a discrete manner, I don't think there will be any problems.

Few years ago a Puerto Rican celebrity, Laura Hernandez, was arrested along with her husband and 5 friends for taking cocaine out of the country. They were sentenced to 7 years in prison and 3 of her friends died when a fire broke out in the prison and killed them and other inmates. Laura was pardoned after serving 3 years and was deported and banned from entering the country ever again. The U.S. embassy tried to get her release for years, but they couldn't do much as she was in Dominican territory and had to abide by laws there regarding possession.

Don't bring drugs into or out of the country. Be smart and be safe.

What happens if a tourist gets caught with drugs in Portugal?

Portuguese law does not differentiate between Portuguese citizens and tourists. So you will get the same treatment as a Portuguese citizen. So it depends on the amount and in what circumstances you are caught with the drugs. If the amount is big or you are caught in the border, you may be charged with trafficking or intention to sell, which are crimes. If you are found with a small amount of recreational drugs that is clearly for personal use, the drugs will be apprehended and likely nothing else will happen. If you are found with small amounts of hard drugs, the police will likely assign a mandatory visit to a doctor who will present you with rehab opportunities. They can also do the same with the recreational drugs, but that usually doesn’t happen. In cases of repeated consumption, you may be forwarded to court where they can assign you to mandatory rehab programs - but due to the repeated part, this hardly ever applies to tourists.Despite the friendly attitude, if you are caught you will likely have to withstand a couple of hours at the station waiting for someone who speaks english (they all do, but they like to keep you waiting), or listening about how dangerous it is to buy drugs on the streets. But the reality is, unless you are carrying drugs in a airport or clearly making fun of the police by smoking in their faces, nothing will happen. If you go out at night in a big portuguese city you will quickly find that recreational drug usage is widespread and not hidden at all, with zero consequences as long as you don’t disturb anyone else.

Can a 16 year old illegal immigrant get deported for possession of marijuana in California?

You came into the country illegally so you are not an immigrant. That being said, it is unlikely that you will be deported. You do realize, don't you, that you have been granted the opportunity to get an education and prepare yourself for a decent life. Your decisions to drive without a license, smoke dope before going to school, and possessing dope on school premises are all incredibly stupid decisions that could affect your future in a very real - but negative - way. We all do stupid things when we are young, but it's way past time for you to understand that you are in a very precarious position, not least of which is your illegal presence. Straighten up and fly right and start making smart decisions.

If you smelled pot coming from someone's house would you call the police? Could the police do anything?

Sometimes yes we can. It all depends.Back in January, 2017 a neighbor called that she could smell the odor of burning marijuana emanating from her next-door neighbor’s apartment. We responded to the location. It wasn’t my call. I was acting as the cover officer. As soon as we got out of our cars we could smell the marijuana. Last January was very cold and snowy and everyone had their doors and windows closed and the odor was still very strong — that’s pretty impressive. So we made contact with the calling party and she directed us to the right apartment. We knocked on the door like the gentlemen we are and, incredibly, the door opened. We were slammed in the face by a wall of marijuana smoke. I could barely see that there were three men in the room behind the homeowner who had thoughtfully opened the door to us. They were smoking a couple really pretty, and expensive, glass bongs (Oregon is next door and there is a head shop just a little ways across the state line). They were all in their late fifties and just kicking-back watching the NFL AFC Championship game (New England Patriots vs. Pittsburgh Steelers), smoking some grass, drinking beer and eating pizza. The responsible officer explained to the occupants why we were there and asked if they were indeed smoking pot. They said yes they were and let us into the apartment when we asked if we could come in (the other officer and I are big believers in the soft approach first). We confiscated the bongs and pot, and the primary officer issued them a summons for possession of a controlled substance. The homeowner also got a ticket for possession of drug paraphernalia (the two bongs which he stated were his). They were all nice guys and it was obvious they were very experienced pot smokers. I kept the door open since the air was so heavy with pot smoke. It was making me a little sick actually. We thanked them for their cooperation (I felt like we were British cops) and left. The whole call was very civilized.
