If I were to delete my email, what would happen to all the accounts associated with it (social media, iCloud, etc)?

If you were to delete you email, then it only deletes your email. All the accounts associated with that email will remain. You must understand that all companies, organizations, and people are independent of one another. If you delete your email account, your email provider will not notify everyone associated with your account. It will simply delete your email; the rest is up to you.If you want to keep those accounts, simply go through your emails one by one. All the emails in that email account should tell you which websites your email account is associated with. Go to all the sites one by one, that has sent you emails in the past, and change update your email information OR delete your account. Do this for every site. You might ask yourself, “Why not just leave all those associated accounts alone? Why should I even do anything with them?” The reason you want to update your email information OR delete the associated accounts to that email is to remain cautious. What if someone scoops up your email in the future, and when signing up for an account, they see that their email address is already used on the site’s servers. For example, what if you have an Amazon account associated with your email. That holds your credit card or debit card info, your addresses. Imagine someone takes your email. Then, they try signing up for Amazon, then they see that email is already in use. All they would have to do is press “Forgot password.” It will send them a link to their email, and they could reset it, giving them access to your Amazon account. It doesn’t even have to be amazon. It can be passwords to your school or work sites. Or maybe sites for paying your bills. You need to make sure that important accounts are associated with the email you’re about to delete. On another note, understand that when signing up for sites, some sites will ask you to confirm your email address. They’ll send you a link in your email, and they want you to click it, thereby confirming you own this account. The reason they do it is because some people will put in false email addresses. These can be email addresses that aren’t their own and email addresses that aren’t real. So, technically, when signing up for Instagram, for example, you can use dfhgjsdnfksklfnj@gmail.com . Odds are no one owns that account. So, if you sign up using that email, no real person will be receiving a “Welcome to Instagram” email. This means no real person can hijack your account by using the “Forgot Password,” method.

I would say the answer goes two ways - Yes and no!Yes - Google gives an option for deleting your account. It also gives option for deleting other services associated with that account like google docs, hangout, etc. No - Deleting an account doesn't mean that it is permanently deleted, the data associated with your account will be deleted including your mails however you can still recover your deleted account. Reference : https://support.google.com/accou...Tip: Better give a random recovery mail that doesn't exists when you are deleting your account and keep a long password with random characters before deleting your account so that you can never recover it again. Hope that sounds cool! ☺

If I delete my google account can I still sign into youtube?

Pretty self explanatory.
I evidently have two google accounts.
One i used for blogger, and somehow I ended up creating a separate account for youtube.
I tried signing into the youtube google account and changing the email to the other one but it says "a user with that e-mail already exists"
I tried to delete the youtube/google account, but I still want to be able to use my youtube account!
If I could merge the two accounts, I;d rather do that.

If I delete my Gmail account will my social media accounts be deleted too?

Gmail or Google AccountWhen closing an account, you have two options: closing just your Gmail account or your Google account as a whole. Your Google account connects all your other services, Gmail included, so if you close that, all your other services will also close. If you close just your Gmail account, however, the rest of your services will still work. Regardless of which option you choose, the effects to your Gmail will be the same.Incoming EmailsWhen your account is closed, you will no longer have access to your emails and anyone attempting to send an email to you at your closed address will have her message bounced back. For all intents and purposes she will be sending mail to an address that doesn't exist; this will begin immediately upon your account closing.Your UsernameAfter you close your account, your username -- for example, breshcalebgmail.com -- is not available for use again, meaning that no one can sign up for Gmail using that name, even long after account closure. This is beneficial in that no one else can sign up with your address and pretend to be you, but it also means that you can't sign up for your old account if you change your mind.Restoring AccountIf you delete your account by accident, if you were hacked or if you change your mind, you may be able to restore your account within a few weeks of its deletion using Google's password assistance page. If your account is restored, you will have access to your account, but all of your emails will be permanently deleted no matter what the time frame. Google states that it keeps backups of deleted accounts for around 60 days, though this time varies. After the backups have been deleted, it is impossible to restore your account.
