What Happened To 480p And 1080p In Youtube

Youtube HD lag......?

Perfectly normal when streaming HD youtube videos. Streaming HD means a bigger video size is being streamed, which can dramatically slow down how it plays, for instance, constant buffering.

The only way to improve this is to either watch it in normal quality, have really good internet connection speeds or switch to HD on youtube, then pause it and wait for a bit. :)

New video quality on YouTube?

Because it's not really HD, but UHD (or Ultra High Definition).  Furthermore,
2160p isn't really double the resolution of 1080p but actually "FOUR'' times;
thus it was felt that ''4K UHD" would be the most descriptive categorization.

Even Wikipedia.com states that: ''2160p is an alternative name for 4K UHD."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/4K_resoluti...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2160p

As such, perhaps the list should not be: 1080p(HD), 1440p(HD), 2160p(4k),
but 1080p(HD), 1440p(HD), *4K UHD(2160p)*.

Why can't I change the video quality in the Android YouTube app?

Can’t change YouTube video quality on android phone when update YouTube app. Sometimes after update, you can see YouTube app video quality option not seen and YouTube streaming issue. When internet speeds slow, you can change YouTube video quality from 720p to 480p / 360p / 240p on your android phone or tablet device. Here’s the possible solutions from my side to fix Can’t change YouTube video quality android phone.

Why can't I upload YouTube videos in 1080P? Or even 720p?

I record video game footage, and I do so in HD 1080p, the whole deal. I've got the right equipment and when I watch the footage after I record it, it's in beautiful, perfect high def. But...when I actually upload it to YouTube, the maximum resolution it will let me watch it in is 480p and it looks horrible. I use the Hauppauge HD PVR and my process is as follows:

Record footage
Import footage into iMovie
Edit footage, including voiceover/commentary
Export/share movie by clicking share in iMovie menu, then selecting "Large (960x540)"
Upload

Now...at first I assumed the issue was popping up in the export/share step, especially because videos that I upload right away (as in, clips that I don't edit in iMovie at all) I can watch in 1080p...but even when I watch this particular edited video on my computer (as in the file itself, not the clip on YouTube) it looks pretty good still. It loses SOME resolution, but not a lot...not so much that I shouldn't be able to watch the video in better resolution than 480p anyway.

Can anyone help me with this?

Is 768 kbps fast enough for 720p or 1080p on youtube?

i just want to know if its fast enough because for me, its really slow even on 360p and 480p, also I know a little bit about the difference of lower case b and capital B on kbps

Why can't I play 480p + videos on Youtube?

Here is the "proven'' solution, as verified by this fellow who gave me the ''Best Answer'':

a BLACK and EMPTY screen means your Cache, Memory or PageFiling are filled-up
and can't take any more -- or you may have conflicting ''cookies''.  Simply delete your
Cache, Cookies and History; then clear your Memory with a shutdown & fresh reboot.
Afterwards, you'll freak at how good and trouble-free your YouTube will be.

→ Chrome menu (≡ or wrench) → Tools → Clear browsing data
→ the beginning of time ▼
[x] Clear browsing history
[x] Empty the cache
[x] Delete cookies and other site and plug-in data
→ Clear browsing data

Don't forget to totally shutdown+reboot afterwards.

Other possibilities + solutions:
-- Right-click any video, click "Settings" and uncheck "Enable Hardware Acceleration".
-- Disable any Adblocking software, play a video; then you can re-enable the Adblock.
-- Disable your AV utility while on YouTube, since you can't get a virus from YouTube.
-- You may unknowingly be using ''HTML5'' rather than "Flash''. To be sure, click here

Youtube video only uploading in 480p?

try to save it as WMV or AVI i think the fact that its mp4 is the problem, also it could just be still processing, is your internet bad? it could be that if it was uploaded like an hour ago that could be it, just re render the file to WMV or AVI :)
