Did anyone catch the Mark Lerner topic on Astrology on coast to coast am Friday night?
This has been going on for a couple of weeks. The astronomer just made a factual statement of what and where the current constellations (made up connect the dot figures. See link 1) are. Which has nothing to do with what the fortune tellers that use the position of two thousand years ago. In reality it is the Earth that moved and not the stars. The astrologers and astronomers always knew all about this fact. It just took a little interview on national TV for all the casual horoscope reader to go bonkers. It was not intended for the astronomer to cause confusion, but some people think astrology is science fact. Maybe people will think more before they commit to astrology. I would like to know that too. Mark Lerner's site allows subscription for $75 a year. Kind of a lot of $$$.
Why are horoscopes freakishly accurate?
I call it Modern Astrology. Observed human behavior over thousands of years. We were able to categorize these patterns and behaviors and ultimately predict certain behaviors. We were also able to define the nature of people born under said categories. And the research is till going on. There is finally a new Sign that has entered into the Zodiac circle. Now of course most people use it as a bias confirmation. I dislike those people. But for those who take it a little more seriously, there is in fact good solid and reasonable research behind Astrology. Does that mean take it literally? No. Of course not. But I personally have found it to be a very enlightening and reliable guideline for how I interact with people and deal with certain situations. Oh yeah I almost forgot. A way you can tell that a Astrology/Horoscope site is a good one: They will tell you NOT to take them word for word but simply as a guideline. You get insight. Not ground breaking facts.

When you hear astrology, do you immediately think "read the future" or "birth chart", or smth else?
I think OMG, a cuticle pusher, ruuuuuuun! I imagine a birth chart as well. Birth charts are cool. But you can read the future, indeedy you can, indeedy you can. More like influencioo and then if you believe everything is already written in the stars (or on you a$$) then it kinda says it all. Currently (my beliefs change or rather get modified daily), I am thinking (or rather agreeing with wherever it was that I read it) that there's this karma you have to work on and you have a certain (not too big though) amount of space in which to move solving it. Like you've got some shitty shitty karma involving mutilating hundreds of people your great-great-great-great-great- great-grandfather did a really loooong time ago, you probably ain't gonna reincarnate as Paris Hilton but as some disgusting beggar people look down on when they pass close to on the street. Shitty but karma ain't that easy to clear. That doesn't mean you necessarily have to be a beggar for the rest of your current incarnation but it might as well mean just that.
