What Happened To The Alert That Would Tell You The Ip Of The The Computer That Tried Getting Into

What does it mean when my computer says someone is using my IP address?

WHAT YOU CAN DO ABOUT ITI see a lot of good answers here about the problem, but not a lot about how to keep this from happening again. There's at least 3 ways I've used on home routers of reasonable quality to address this issue. They are all similar ways to skin this particular cat.I'm pretty sure these aren't "Best Practices" implementations, but it might be helpful anyhow.1) Use the "Reserved Addresses" (or similar) function on your router to keep DHCP from assigning that address to your computer again and statically assign that address to the server or device that you came into conflict with. You won't get into an argument over this address again after that.2) Reassign the "DHCP Pool" in the DHCP server settings of the router to exclude a block of addresses which contains the contested address. Do not reduce the range or size of the subnet, however. (Hands off that subnet mask.) Now you can statically assign the addresses which have been excluded from the DHCP pool to a server, or printer, or other device that benefits from keeping its IP.3) Sit down and intelligently plan and document your IP addressing policy. Use either of these techniques if you like to aid you in executing your policy. With a little forethought and planning, you'll avoid this, and a hundred other little issues like it. This sounds pedantic, but it's important!I realize that some home routers simply don't have the features to allow you to use either of these approaches. Newer hardware is getting better about this these days. As some others have mentioned, sometimes cheap junky hardware will do this to you, and there's not much you can do about it besides retire the junk with extreme prejudice. Also, my reply may be beyond the scope of the question. If so, apologies.

Will someone be notified if someone tries to log into their Instagram from another device?

Yes, they will be notified. The security of Instagram have increased now. As soon as you try to log in someones account with any device from different network Instagram will ask you to verify that account through registered email or registered phone number before you can access it.When the owner login in their account Instagram will ask them if it was them who was trying to login showing the country name and device name and will ask them to verify it by clicking ( It was me ) or will ask them to change there password if it as not them & they don’t recognize that location and device. An email of suspicious activity is only given when you try to do something inappropriate using someones account. Instagram changes the password and notifies the owner.

I tried to log in to someone's Facebook account, will it notify them that I did?

So I'm completely aware that I'm an idiot for trying but I was curious to see if my idea for this person's password would work. It did not.

But here's the full story on what went down. I was thinking about a good friend of mine for a bit, and I tried logging in to their account to see if this possible password I came up with in my head would work. So I went on their profile and copy and pasted their facebook email (@facebook.com) to the log in page and entered the possible password. It told me that the password was wrong so I didn't go any further than that.

Then it struck me that way back then, Facebook added a feature that notifies when someone logged in to their account and gives them their location, IP, time of access, and all that other stuff. I'm aware of the logging in from an unknown device notification, but I'm not sure if that's the same thing since it doesn't give IP and Location (I think)

Now, I'm worried that this friend will get that exact same notification and figure out that it was me who tried to access their account. But I'm hoping and praying they won't for three reasons:

A: I did not manage to get on their account.
B: I only attempted to get on their account ONE TIME. I did not attempt to guess their password anymore times than that.
C: Facebook probably removed this feature (I may likely be wrong according to some internet searches, but I'm not sure really)

If someone would please give me some reassurance or something, that would be great. But I want the honest truth. Will they get the IP and Location notification?

Is it ok to watch porn on the school computers?

My middle school gives each student a laptop to use for the year to do homework and stuff like that and of course they block the some websites like YouTube and jungle vibes but that's only if yor connected to the school wifi. If your connected to any other wifi nothing is blocked. So my friend told me about all the porn he watched on his laptop and I don't want him to get in trouble. He uses incognito mode but is there any where the school can see it

I need help with a networking homework question?

Case Project 4-3
Six months later, First National Bank has successfully consolidated the networks
at its original location and at its new acquisition. One day, the bank’s loan officer
calls you for help on an urgent problem. He cannot connect to a loan provider’s
Web site. When he tries connecting to the site, called www.loansandmoreloans.
com, the message he receives is “Alert! www.loansandmoreloans.com could not
be found. Please check the name and try again.” He assumes that the loan provider’s
network is down, but he wants to make sure the problem isn’t something he
could fix, because he urgently needs to access the site. As you know, other things
could be causing this error message. Given what you have learned about TCP/IP
networking, suggest two other reasons why this error message might appear in
the loan officer’s browser window. Then describe two specific commands the
loan officer could type at his computer’s command prompt that would help you
and him narrow down where the connection is failing. Which of these two commands
would you try first and why?

I can't think of the reasons on why the error message appearing.

But I think I know one of the commands that can be used for the command prompt.
I think this is one of them but not sure if this should be first or second:
ping www.loansandmoreloans.com

I would appreciate it if you can provide me with the other answers.
Thanks.

I am getting a popup message from McAfee that says "The PC or Device has connected to your network" Then, it lists an IP address.?

Does this mean someone is trying to break into my computer? Can I just disable this stupid home network feature? I'm on a Windows laptop connected to a hotel WiFi.

Does Facebook notify you if someone tried to log in to your account?

I know that Facebook has a new feature that tells you if another computer actually logged in to your account, but does it notify you if someone has tried to log in to your account too? If so, does it give the IP address and city info?
