What Happens If Caught Driving Without An Iid

Can I get a license plate for my car without a driver's license or permit?

Question: Can I get a license plate for an automobile without having a drivers license?Certainly. If you purchase a vehicle from a dealership, they will give you temporary tags and then order permanent tags for you from the state. These can be mailed to you (or you can stop by and pick them up) after your registration has been processed by the state. This take 10 days to 2 weeks on average. If you purchase a vehicle in a private sale, you can go to the state DMV/BMV offices and obtain your registration and license tags there. You fill out some paperwork, give them the old title and pay a series of fees for taxes, registration and miscellaneous other items. They will either give you the license tags that day or you will be given temporary tags there also and have the new ones mailed to you. The mailing option will again take (on average) 10 days to 2 weeks.NOTE; If you don’t have a drivers license, it would be very unwise to drive the vehicle to the DMV/BMV branch. In some states, a clerk would need to check your vehicle’s VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) and they will ask how you arrived in the vehicle if you are not licensed to drive. They can and will contact the police anythings will get less pleasant from there. Finally, in some states (Illinois being one) private agencies are allowed to undertake some DMV functions, including vehicle registration. They are often far less crowded and more convenient than DMV locations; however they often charge as much as a 25% surcharge for that convenience.Depending upon the location, they will either give you temp tags and request that you return for the permanent tags. Or they can provide with new permanent tags ,s o long s they are “basic” and not personalized, or specialty plates.

How can I get caught if the DMV isn't requiring an ignition interlock device but the courts are?

My case is in Van Nuys, California and one of my requirements is to install a breathalyzer in my car before I start driving. I called a place to have it done but they told me that the DMV isn't requiring me to have one.....sooooo if I get pulled over, I'm thinking that the police are not going to have records of me needing one because they only have DMV information. I'm just assuming that last part but if anyone can give me a little insight into the matter I would really appreciate it. My reason for not installing is that I could really use the extra $65 a month. Please answer with ways in which I can get caught if I decide not to install one of these devices. Thanks!

What happens if I use the wrong transmission fluid?

For an automatic transmission car a lot of things can happen. The transmission might start slipping, not engaging into gear properly, shifting rough or literally not work at all.You might see progressive damage to the tranny. At first it seems fine, but then it starts slipping or shifting poorly. The transmission might fail altogether.Sometimes you’re lucky and putting the right fluid in makes it work normally again, sometimes you’re not so lucky and the damage has been done, requiring a complete rebuild or replacement of the transmission. It can also get quite interesting for manual transmissions. You see, manual trannies use synchronizer rings to match internal gear speeds. The synchro rings do their work while you’re moving the stick into gear. It very rapidly synchronizes the speed between the input shaft and the gear you are selecting. If you use the wrong fluid, these rings might work less effective. This can cause the shifter to feel stiff, or you cannot get the shifter into gear. It might even grind as you try to put it in.Using the wrong fluid can over time wear up your synchronizer rings to premature failure, requiring an expensive transmission rebuild.Without the synchronizer rings the transmission cannot shift normally. You will grind the gears or not shift at all. You will need to double-clutch and rev-match, like the big rigs that don’t have synchromesh units at all.Using the wrong fluid, can in BOTH types of transmissions wear out bearings and gears faster than usual, making for strange noises or catastrophic failure.I have no experience with CVT transmissions, but from what I have found is that putting the wrong fluid in a CVT transmission will most likely royally mess it up. It might work for a little while due to the little bit of CVT fluid that is still in it, only to very suddenly stop working and never work again.Use the right fluid for your tranny. Fluid isn’t expensive. A new tranny is.

Can one get a Texas ID card even if their driver's license has been suspended?

YES. In fact that happens to be my exact situation. My lawyers are working with DPS to restore my license, but for banking and other purposes you need an official ID. So one of my lawyers told me to go to driver license office and apply for an ID card. It works for buying plane tickets, getting into bars, buying firearms or ammo, voting, and everything else a license is for EXCEPT DRIVING. It explicitly states on the front that “THIS IS NOT A DRIVER LICENSE”. Because in other states it may pass for one. But to cash checks or buy firearms or enter bars & buy liquor or cast a vote at a polling place the Texas ID card will be adequate. It certifies your AGE, name, date of birth, state of residence and physical address. Go down to the DPS office, (the driver license office), and tell them you want a “Texas ID card”. Wear a decent shirt and fix your hair because they will shoot the photo for the ID card right then and there. Bring a birth certificate or other proof that you are who you say you are, even a suspended driver license is still proof of identification. Because the driver license may be suspended, but your identity is not suspended. You are STILL THAT PERSON.

Financing car with suspended license ?

My driver license is suspended for DUI and in order to get my license reinstated I have to have an ignition interlock device (IID) installed on any car I drive for 5 months. In other words my license won't be valid until I have a car with an IID installed in it. After the 5 month period has expired I can drive without an IID in my car. However, I don't have my car anymore and I'm looking into buying another one. I was approved for a auto loan but I can't use the loan because the creditor requires me to have a valid driver license at the time of purchasing the vehicle. I had planned on letting my wife drive the car off the lot and having the IID installed after the purchase of the car, but the creditor wants my license to be valid at the time of purchase.

Are there any other options for buying another car, other than having to save cash for the car ?

If the offender was caught for a second DUI violation within a period of ten years from the first DUI conviction, the court may impose the maximum sentence against him.

Is there a legal consequence for someone that blows into a breathalyzer (IID) so that someone can drive?

Actually his girlfriend blew into it for him (who had a 3 year old from a previous relationship with her and she's 35 weeks pregnant) they drove away.

There was a cop right there when they drove away, but they never turned the car off when they parked, and sat idling having done rigged the breathalyzer back at their house.

We're most concerned for the children (born or unborn).
