How do you delete an iCloud backup?
My iCloud is almost full, it can no longer backup my iPhone because there is not enough memory in the cloud. I want to delete the current backup in the cloud but every time I go to Settings>iCloud>>Storage & Backup>Manage Storage>Marc's iPhone, it only shows when the last backup was, 4/30/13, and the backup size, 3.9, and "Delete Backup", but when I click delete backup a window comes up that says "Cannot delete backup this backup cannot be deleted because it is in use" but like..i want to delete it and back up my new stuff without using my Macbook. Anyone know how to make the backup delete?

I need to replace my iPad because the screen is cracked, but I don't want to loose the data on some of my games. So to make room on iCloud for my games I'm considering deleting the back up for my iPad and my old iPhone and then only backing up the stuff from my iPad I want to keep. What all will this do the data on my iPad, like specifically my camera roll and photostream?

You get more space on iCloud, and if you don't have some other backup it will be a bit more of a pain to bring your phone back if you to reset it. It's not that big of a deal. Between iCloud and Dropbox I don't restore from backup when I get a new phone. It's like spring cleaning. I just start over every time and it pretty easy to do.But…. If you are not backing up all you important data some other way, then back up your phone. For example. Even though iCloud has my photos, I still download full size copies to my Mac. I also have all the Dropbox folders synced to the Mac. The Mac has a time machine backup (local) and a backblaze backup (remote). I also clone the hard drive every 3 months or so and put that in my fireproof safe.

Why did Apple delete my iCloud backups?
I had some backups in iCloud from my old iPhone. I came back to get my stuff and it was all gone. My iCloud storage was full, then when I came back it was empty and there were no backups. I DID NOT delete them. There was a lot of photos, videos, messages and contacts in there I will never get back :(

Deleting this will not affect the amount of space on your phone, because it is stored in the cloud.
