What if there were a tornado outside a school, and a fire inside?
....and school was actually in session? You can't go outside because of the tornado......and you can't stay inside because of the raging fire! I wondered what people would do if that really happened.....

that happened at my school yesterday!! well, sort of. the fire alarms were set off, and we evacuated the school but outside it was really dark, and there was thunder and lightining, and a tornado warning. so we really couldnt be inside or outside. but then they gave the all clear and we all got inside, then it started to pour. it was really crazy :]

It was some malfunction with refrigerators for water (something along the lines of a power cable being exposed to water). The whole place burned down, was pretty much nothing solid left to use.It was right before lunch hour as well, and we heard our fire alarm system go off. Teachers were getting really confused, but later on, found out through a group chat that teachers had with other staff that there indeed a really serious fire in the cafeteria. We followed the fire drill without any difficulties and went out on the soccer fields outside as the fire trucks rolled in. It took them a while to calm it down, but when they did we quickly went to get our stuff and were excused from school for a few days. The school also has plans of what to do in case specific parts of the school have a fire, and in this case, it being the cafeteria, they issued a protocol to transform a school gym into a cafeteria area (we have 3 gyms) while the main cafeteria area was being repaired.The drill did help actually. We always think that drills are a waste of time but this time it just calmed people down and cleared out the school so the office could figure the whole thing out. We got fresh air, chilled out on the fields with classmates, and then went home. It all went by very smoothly.

I live in Florida and realized that I have no idea what to do if there is a tornado watch, warning, or if one hits my home. I have two small children- what should I do to prepare? What should I do if one hits my home?
