NYPD cop issued a pink summons with wrong date of offense, never asked for my signature, can it be tossed out?
New York City - UES - Carl Schurz Park I was issued a pink summons for being in a park "after hours". The alleged crime was "failure to comply with signs". My friend was not issued a ticket since she did not have her ID on herand I decided to be honest. The officer took at least 25 minutes to write a ticket to me in the safest park in New York, while people in the city were probably getting mugged, raped, assaulted and murdered. The problem is the officer wrote "1977" as the year of the date of offense even though this is 2010. There is no denying the sevens, as he crossed them like a "European Seven". I also was never asked to sign/date the ticket. Since the alleged date of offense took place before I was born & there is absolutely no physical proof of me being there, can I ask the judge to toss this out? My court date is in October, The fine is $25, but I won't pay them one penny for this BS. A lawyer friend says "The statute of limitations expired decades ago." I have made several copies of the ticket because I know how cops lie and cheat to save face.

The other answers are correct. You could go back to the store, though, and tell them that you definitely got the bill from them, and that if they don't replace it you'll go to the police and report them for passing counterfeit currency. That might get them to replace the bill. If they don't, definitely go to the police. You'll lose your money, but will at least have the joy of getting the store into trouble. I agree that in the future you should only deal with legitimate banks.

Never, never, never, never sign any kind of statement. Not even if it is a statement of non guilt. If you should sign a statement of non guilt the police will just tell the bond judge that they even have a statement from you, however the police will deliberately remain silent on the fact that the statement is not a confession. Why has my husband stopped calling and writing me from prison?
I know you're going to hate this answer, but there is no way to know for sure. I say that as someone who also has a husband in prison. I have known this special brand of agony myself. There are a few possibilities that I can think of. They vary in likelihood depending on his location/custody risk, his personality, the amount of money he has on his books, and so on.One. Something happened on the inside (a murder, something serious like that) and he is unable to call because the prison is “locked down” meaning there is no recreational time and all inmates are confined to their cells all day.Two. He's on Loss of Privileges or maybe even in solitary for having a run-in with disciplinary.Three. He's out of money on his phone account.Four. He has developed or resumed an active drug addiction, and he's out of money and has traded his pens/paper/stamps/envelopes for drugs.Five. He's depressed. He is worried sick all the time and it's difficult for him to do his time like that. He opens his eyes every single morning in prison. It's a miserable place to be. Trying to think of things to write only serves to intensify this.Six. You've stopped writing him? So he's “on strike” in a sense?Seven. He's become “affiliated” (with a gang) - I don't know much about this because my husband isn't, and so what I “know” about it is all stuff I've heard third hand, and it's difficult to separate what's true and what's false when you're dealing with hearsay. But I've heard that they tend to detach themselves from family if their family isn't also involved with their, like, whatever they do in there on the low. Their hustle, I guess.Eight. He may be writing you and the mail is just suuuuuuuper slow for whatever reason. Maybe there's a new mail and property officer who doesn't like him, or they're extremely disorganized.That's all I can really think of. The good news is that since you're his wife, you're entitled to know what's going on with him. Just call the prison and bug the guards about it. You might get passed around a bit, they might try giving you the runaround, but be persistent (and polite!) and eventually you'll get ahold of that one guard who stays 20 minutes after the end of their shift to dig through files for any information they have on him. If they don't have anything, then that rules out #1, #2, and maybe #8.Good luck! Don't give up.

Can someone answer my question Thanks for your help. ok i was driving 20 mph over the limit in a construction zone. the speed was 55 mph but the police told me that i was 75 and i am not sure if i was 75 so i am going to fight this case now my question is, to be a construction zone there must actually be workmen active at the side, or something like cones, etc., controlling the flow of traffic. A "construction zone" is a sign alone is enough for the police to give me a Ticket since i did not see anyone working, i am not a bad driver but i fell the police was trying to make money off me? can someone help thanks alot. any suggestion is welcome on how to fight it this case. "note the police was very racist man when he hand me the ticket to sign i left the pen up to sign the pen clip broke and fly on my car diash bord and i did not fine it so i told him i will give you $20 to buy a new pen and i am very soory i did not mean to brake your pen he got very angry at me and told me you did it in purpose and i told him why should i do that i have nothing against you any way he give me that ticket and let me go after 20 mint making me with.
County Jail Booking/Intake Questions?
I can only give what happens during the intake for a woman: yes you will have to be strip searched and other inmates will see you naked. as to how the search procedure goes you and any other inmate waiting are taken to a room where 2 or more officers of the same sex will instruct you remove your clothing. Once undressed the officer has you to open you mouth move your tongue up, down, left and right and then stick your tongue out next they look up your nose and behind your ears. Next if you have long hair as I do they make you shake your hair out next the officer checks the chest area ( if your a woman the have you to lift each breast one at a time) they check your arm pits next they will have you to spread your legs squat down and cough then stand back up legs spread bend over spread cheeks officer will look to see nothing is hidden (if your a guy I'm sure the will check under you private parts as well) last raise each foot wiggle toes and show bottom of feet. This is very embarrassing and degrading No you cant choose what uniform you get we had the orange jumpsuits for when we left the facility and when in our cells we had white t-shirt and gray sweat pants. Restraints when I was taken in they place the waist chain around me and I had handcuffs on my hands and on the waist chain (hand movement was limited) also once inside the jail they took my shoes had to run around in my socks. Yes you security level will determine how much restraints you have. Time spent in your cell depends on where your at its not that bad. being released depends its different form place to place
Pulled over by cop but no ticket- why?
I was pulled over for failing to signal but the cop just said, "You should always use your signal." He glanced at my driver's license for a microsecond and gave it back and disappeared into the night. Why did he decide to let me go with a warning? Or is this the new thing where I will just get my ticket in the mail later like a red light camera?
