What Has Happened To Yahoo Answers And Is Yahoo Even Paying Attention

How can we prevent Quora from turning into Yahoo! Answers?

With all due respect, I sometimes think they should be stricter.I feel sad when I read things, that in MY opinion contain underlying racism on the part of the questioner.Things like: Why does everyone think Australian aboriginals are ugly? There are hundreds of variations of this question and for some reason I get asked to answer these types of questions. Quite honestly it makes me feel like crying.Or the: Why does everyone think an average white girl is beautiful and a beautiful black girl ugly? (It sickens me to even write this).Don’t the writers of these questions notice how insulting they are? Are they trying to provoke the 0.01% of the population that are probably racist and hate everyone. Are they trying to prove that white people are racist without noticing how racist their own question is?And also, as a question, it is a flawed question, a sub-par question, and definitely an ignorant question because it’s based on an fictitious assumption that the questioner has just dreamed up in their head.I mean, is it a forgone conclusion that everyone thinks that an aboriginal is ugly?? NO, NO, NO, then why is that question allowed in a quality site such as Quora. It belongs on a hate site.I don’t think anyone would miss my existence on Quora if I left it, but whenever I read such ignorance I really feel like giving it up. It kinda ruins my day.

I have a hard time paying attention?

Sometimes, I can just sit in class for an hour and realize I didnt hear a single thing that the teacher said, D: How can I pay attention in class and stop procrastinating?

Do you pay attention to your "inner voice"?

Get this straight whoever you are. There is nothing at all called an inner voice; it is nothing but a mental condition generated by pseudo religionists, pseudo-psychologists and spurious weriters on the theme. It is a ruse developed by novelists and their likes to give credence to their wooly thinking. I have closely read a great deal of authentic thinkers who all say the same story that it is another name for indecision. It is just a hunch or feeling which you resort to when you are unable to make a positive decision . It is really another name for what is normally called second thoughts. There is no place for such crude affectation in logic or reason. All persons do have time to reflect on their first feeling which when on second thoughts become refined by reason. Many thanks

I have Trouble Paying Attention and Focusing?

I have a very big problem in that I find it exceedingly hard to focus is almost everything I do. In school, when I am supposed to be doing work, I'll end up daydreaming or sleeping even if it is a class that I really like. I often find reading from books to be difficult, not because I don't like reading, but that I end up reading the same sentences over and over again not comprehending what I am reading. The problem extends into homework as well. I rarely, if ever do homework, and it's not because I don't want to. Even if I put on noise-canceling headphones and use special software to blank out everything on my screen but what I should be working on, I find myself wandering. I'll end up doing something else, that will lead into doing yet another thing and that continues endlessly until I go to bed with no work done. It doesn't only apply to work though. I play sports and often times I will find myself zoned out not even thinking about the game, but thinking about something irrelevant.

Guys don't pay any attention to me at all?

I used to be this way too. BELIEVE me. I know how terrible it is, and a LOT of other girls do too. If you throw yourself out there, like I'm sure your friends do, it will never be sincere. High school boys (the majority, but not all of them) are all about their social statuses. They want to be able to tell their guy friends that they did 'all this' with 'this girl' and it is almost a competition to them. It IS a competition to them. I know this because I have so many guy friends, and it is just about all they talk about.

Do not put yourself in a social position that is going to make you feel bad. You may like these people, but if they are doing this to your self confidence, I say you should put some space between them and yourself. After doing this, you need to go to the bathroom, your bedroom - whatever - and you need to look at yourself and find everything about yourself that YOU like. Because how can others like you if you don't? Get some confidence! And even if you don't really have any, at least play off a little bit, because whether you know it or not, people will respect you for your confidence as long as you have common sense about it. You seem like a very smart girl, so this shouldn't be a problem.

This may sound terrible, but place yourself around people that are maybe a bit larger than you, or have worse hair then you. You know, little things. Believe it or not, this will bring more attention to you from guys and you might even find better friends in these people. High school sucks, but hey, you'll be out of it soon anyway. College will be better--new start. You can be whoever you want to be when you get there, and do what you want to do.

I hope this helps because I have been there and I know how badly it hurts to feel as though you aren't good enough and that guys don't see you for who you really are. They will eventually and they'll want you just as bad as they think they want these other girls now. You just have to wait it out and then take those boys by the reigns. :)

How to pay attention in class?

It might not be your fault, it could be your teachers teaching method.
What I do in class, is try to ask question the pertain to the subject. This may come easier to others, but its always good to incorporate your personal experience's into the lecture.

As for the falling as sleep drink Coffee during the class or eat sugary snacks, like Fruit Roll Ups.

If this doesn't work, then you might have to talk to your teacher about the problem, maybe she'll change her teaching method. I bet the problem is that she doesn't ask enough questions during the lecture. And she's probably just keeps talking in the same tone of voices.

Survey:: How often do you pay attention to detail..???

Honestly, I would love to say I do at all times, but more often than not I will miss the very small ones....

What about you???

As always, Thank you all for taking the time.

Why is Quora more popular than Yahoo Answers? What elements make it the more popular Q&A site?

A couple of years back, early 2015 I guess, I wanted to know about the basics of big data and its importance in industry.I googled “What is Big data”The first link popped up was Wikipedia - I opened in a new tab and set it aside. The second link was from Yahoo answers. I opened and was looking for some useful information. There were answers like:I was confused, irritated and most of the answers didn’t answer the question. The next link which popped was from Quora.I could find answers like this:Answer was by Balaji Viswanathan (பாலாஜி விஸ்வநாதன்) sir. That is the moment I followed him and read his other answers too! And that was the moment i decided not to refer yahoo answers for anything in future.Unlike Yahoo answers, Why was the answer better? It summed up all the information - technical explanation with real life examplesPictures made it easier for me to connect with answerThe credential “Ran a Big data company” made me believe the answer is from someone trustworthy.Upvotes and comments of appreciation from people in related field made me feel secured about the answerComments were healthy and was debating its future application. So, with no further discussions, Quora is always better than Yahoo answers.

Has anyone ever survived a heart attack without medical attention?

25% of heart attacks detected on routine ECG in the Framingham Heart Study were silent. They never had any symptoms. Silent attacks are more common in diabetics. They have painless attacks due to diabetic involvement of the sensory nerves necessary to transmit the pain signals from the heart to the brain.
