What Helps To Get You Through The Work Day

Should I go in to work on my day off?

I have Friday off. Last Friday was really busy and so I was thinking about going in to help out. I work on Saturday and me going in on Friday would help me get ahead for Saturday but at the same time it'll mean that I work 7 days in a row. I really honestly don't want to go in because I know it'll backfire on me and end up just frustrating me. I know that my boss won't appreciate it.
But at the same time I can't rely on the people working on Friday to not leave me a huge mess to clean up on Saturday. I feel like I shouldn't have to work on my days off just to make sure that when I come back to work that it's not a mess.

How to get through the work day.?

I am 17 and I am working at Wendys. I work 6pm-12am then go back to work at 12pm-8pm. Anyway to make this not as stressful. I get very stressed at this Job. I started a few weeks ago and its so draining. I just need a few pointers on how to not get overwhelmed and want to kill myself over these hours.

What gets you through the work day?

It is the work that gets me through the work day.Just imagine this - in addition to all the meetings, you have to read 1200–1500 emails every day and have to respond to several of these emails.[1]It will not only get you through the work day but it will get you through the work night as well.As if that wasn’t enough, it can get you through the weekends as well.-Footnotes[1] Image on seoclerk.com

Working 4 10 hour days or 5-8 hour days?

I think each person has different considerations.
If your commute is longer than 40 minutes, than a 10 hr work day plus the commute just sounds like too much time away from home.
And a 8 hr workday that starts at 7:00am will end soon enough to get other things done in the day.

The first few weeks on a job are exhausting so don't feel guilty about being so tired. Not just the new routine in the morning/evening, but also the new stress of learning the job. As you develop a good routine, you will feel better. Just plan wisely on your meals. High protein, low carbs, no sugar may help. Eating properly will help alot, so stay away from fast food with no nutritional value.

Keep all your options open. And congrats on working at a company that considers your opinion for shift work.

How do you get through the work day if you dislike your job?

I assume that you didn’t always dislike your job because then, you wouldn’t have applied in the first place. You have to grow to dislike your job.Record the factors that make your work day unlikable. Is it the activities, or lack of activities you do? Is it the people you work with? A good first step is to identify why you dislike your job. Doing this can help you on your next job, if you chose to switch, so that it’s less likely you’ll dislike the next job too.On how to get through the day. It really depends on what’s making the day difficult, again. Be professional when you work and talk about your concerns with whoever you trust. You can grow to like your job again if you put your mind to it.The last resort would be to find another job. If you’re choosing this step, consider how you’re going to keep things positive to prevent the same thing from happening.I hope this helps!

Does air conditioning help you get more work done on a hot day?

I design HVAC systems for commercial office buildings, where building owners and tenants spend millions of dollars to heat and cool them.  They're not doing it to be nice; employees are both assets and liabilities and they cost money, and employees are also biological machines whose performance is temperature and humidity dependent, so bottom line, in order to get the biggest bang for their buck out of their investment, the biological machines need to be 'comfortable', however that's defined, different for everyone, but we've found, and it's been shown, that if we keep a building at 73 +/- 1 degree in the summer and 70 degrees +/- 1 degree in the winter and between 40 and 60 percent relative humidity, the fewest number of people will complain, which is the point.  Capitalism at its best.

Songs for the end of a work day. Please help!?

I am wanting the names of some songs that are fun and get you ready for the end of a work day or the end of the work week.

Some examples would be: "Bang on the drum all day" or" Five O'Clock World"

Please help. I really need some good music to help me get through the work day.

Awkward first day of work.?

i've never worked yet and this was my first job.

So i started working at dairy queen yesterday and it was awkward as hell, just standing on same spot, moving out of the day of co-workers.

I didn't know which order list or w.e you call that monitor that shows customers order you would take first and didnt know the type of ice cream i had to make.

didnt think dairy queen would be hard af, cause mcdonalds, A&W are way easier you dont have to make the ice cream, (except mcflurry or shakes).

even though i was getting trained i dont remember much of the sundae, blizzards, ice cream, etc i had to make.

And when my shift was over i just stood there and asked like two-three times in a row if i could leave because i didn't know if you could just leave immediately when your shift is over as i have no job/working experience ever.

im really friendly, and charismatic person but for some reason it was awkward as hell and was quiet, while waiting for directions.
