During morning rush hour, traffic going into Bethesda is extremely heavy and the same is true in the afternoons primarily bec there are two major interstates between Bethesda and PG County with heavy volume of traffic flowing to/from the north: I-95 corridor going up to New Jersey and New York joins I-495 around College Park and I-270 corridor that has a lot of traffic coming down from Germantown, Frederick and even Pennsylvania intersects I-495 just below Bethesda.
