Do tattoos hurt .. ?
It hurts but obviously it isn't unbearable, torturous pain. If it were you wouldn't see so many people walking around with them.
Which hurts worse a shoulder tattoo or a foot tattoo?
Generally speaking foot tattoos hurt more because of the boney area but it differs from person to person. Personally I was in agony with my foot tattoos but I'm not good with pain. The pain is incomparable to things like breaking bones because you conciously putting yourself in a position where you will be harmed in full knowledge of what you are doing, instead of breaking a bone is a very swift and sudden thing where you are shocked by it happening. The best way to find out how much a tattoo hurts is by getting one, its so different from person to person taking other peoples opinions won't be much help. As for your pain tolerance its more about can you sit there and cope with someone inflicting pain on you for any amount of time, again the only way to know is to do it. The most important thing is get it where you WANT it not where you think will hurt the least. Additional - you want to avoid shoes that rub the tattooed area but if you can't put a thin layer of antiseptic cream over the tattoo and cover with cling film while wearing shoes then as soon as you can take the shoes off remove the cling film adn wash the tattoo (don't soak it) then reapply a thin layer of antiseptic cream. It's not ideal but we don't live in an ideal world.
How bad does a hand tattoo hurt?
Its not super bad i got bout of my hand did i even try to do my palm its in there but dont look that good bout ya top of the hand and bad the cloer you get to the plam And fingers. The more your going. To feel it fingers are nuts make you about pee its no joke kneecap is way worse and elbow face and throat top of the foot are way worse top of the hands. Walk in the park

Absolutley killed i stared a detalied realistic rose and sat well for first 1.5 hours until i started feeling dizzy lifless and almost passed out i will return to finish when healed i have 9 tattoos and by far this was the worst
How painful is a tattoo on the top of the hand? Would the palm be better?
I have my left hand all tatted up, and let me tell you, it HURTS. The top of the hand isn't too bad at all, but the palm hurts like hell, and doesn't take ink very well. Between the knuckles and the webbing between your fingers hurts too. I wouldn't recommend getting much on your palm, because like i said, it doesn't take ink well so they'd have to go over it, and it'll come back out over the years. And as for the whole job thing, it depends on what field you're going into. Personally, I'm a mechanic so it really doesn't matter, tattoos are an accepted thing in the automotive field. But other fields aren't as accepting, actually most of them aren't. so just be careful.
Is getting a tattoo worse than childbirth?
No it is not ... depending on where you get the tattoo and the size of the tattoo Examples per my expierence ... anything in the following areas can be very painful but NOT worse than child birth ; 1) shoulder blade , upper / lower / mid back 2) anywhere there may be an outstanding bone ... ( wrist , foot , knee just examples the needle will hit the bone ) 3) breast bone or center of chest 4) any say facial tattoos 5) top of the hand 6) hips ( if you are slendar and have bones pertruding ) 7) ribs ... Least painful places ; 1) Legs 2) ankles 3) thighs 4) breast area 5) stomach 6) neck 7) arms , forearms These are just ideas ... the pain is generally a tingleing mabey somewhat burning feeling. In general you either love it or hate it to be honest it varies on the persons pain tolerance in general ...
Why are hand tattoos seen as a high risk tattoo?
Because lots of places won't give you a job with hand tattoos. Regardless of how the images of tattoos has changed in recent years, most people don't expect people in many positions to have visible tattoos.Most office jobs or jobs where you come into contact with the public won't take you. Same with any branch of the military or police.They're risky tattoos unless you're self-employed, have an easy-going employer, or you don't mind being unemployed.Even heavily tattooed people used to leave the hands, face and neck tattoo-free. For a reason: regardless of what you or I may think about tattoos, many people aren't so understanding.

I have gotten tattooed in almost all the areas of my body and my experience is this:Getting tattooed feelings like hit with a rubber band on the same spot repeatedly.Initially there is the pain that comes from just getting the process started. However, once the adrenaline kicks in (your body starts getting the feel that there is ‘damage’ happening, you start feeling stronger)The outline needle is sharper and some of the tattoo artists uses it a bit more harder to ensure the outline comes well. So it will hurt a bit.There are certain parts of your body which are more sensitive than others (neck & inner bicep area versus the forearms). If you want to know how sensitive the place would be - Hit yourself with a rubber band a couple of times in that area to give you an idea.There are some tattoo artists who are very skilled at helping you get a tattoo. So they know how to use the right pressure. The rest don’t care and those are the ones you will experience more pain.The pain however is not that great that you cannot bear it or you will scream in agony.Its always important to mentally psyche yourself before you get a tattoo. Will always make it easier. (Assume you are getting into a fight. The adrenaline kicks in faster)Make sure you eat something that has energy - banana or light sweet biscuit or some sugary drink (redbull) or you may faint because of being too tensedAs you cross the 3 hour mark, it may get slightly uncomfortable every hourPlaces where your skin is thin (fingers, ankles, head, shin area) you will feel the needle hit the bone. Does it hurt to get a tattoo on your neck?
Ok. Tattoos hurt but not as much as people are making them out to. The back of the neck is actually an easier spot to get tattooed. If you have a good artist, you should be able to sit for 3-4 hours before the pain really starts kicking in. I am a tattoo artist, have 58 tattoos and have done 54 of them on myself. The worst place to get a tattoo is the chest or ribs. By far! The best tattoo artists make it so you do t even feel anything but a brush on the skin. There are sloppy, heavy-handed artists that we call butchers in the industry. They want the money to get you in amd out of the chair as fast as possible to get the next customer in. The key is to find a great artist that uses great machines and has a great personality to help keep your mind off of it when it does start to hurt. If you are talking about the back of the neck, the liece wont be very big and will probably take about an hour or 2 depending on the design. Women have a much higher pain tolerance for tattoos then men do so it should be a breeze. Be out of the chair before the pain starts. Ive seen a person gettin butchered last for 20 minutes on their shoulder and ive seen the same person sit for a quality artist for 9 hours on their chest with ease. Not all artists are equal. Some just have a very light and steady hand and let the ink sit right where its supposed to with no bleeding while packing in color. Others have that heavy hand and just abuse skin. Alot of people say tattoos are so painful so they look tough being able to sit through it. You have no worries til you hit that 3 hour mark. Then it gets to be dependent on the artist and pain tolerance.
