Would deporting all Illegal immigrants save the US?
I laugh when I read stuff like this! First of all we simply don't have the ability to deport illegal immigrants en mass, and more even more importantly we do not have the political will to do so even if we had the ability to do so. The first politician the even jokes about this on TV will pretty much guarantee his political party a defeat at polls next election! So lets get real! As far as handing out welfare checks like candy to illegal Mexicans? I move to LA in 1996, and you know what I know and see a lot of illegal folks here, and they seem all be busting their butts trying to make a living at jobs I would personally not do, and at pay that I would laugh at! Just haven't seen the whole welfare thing yet? Not to mention the truth of matter is, our economy has fallen into a dependent cycle, we depend upon that cheap labor, right or wrong, but we do. And our own companies love it too! Corporate America slapped Bush even when he tried to threaten this cozy little relationship, remember the "guest worker" program, ya, killed real quick when businesses got pissed and called their congressmen, right before marching into the Oval office to set W straight too! If folks "really" are "only" interested in saving "money" discussing selective deportation (which is not going to happen anyway) is really a waste of time. Lets discuss foreign relations! Lets discuss adopting a non-interventionist foreign policy, allowing us to cut back our military presence through out the world. Sorry folks, this is where the "real" money is going, not to welfare checks! Darn! I guess the Truth really does hurt! LoL Got an idea for all those rabid anti-immigration folks...Put up Jim Gilchrist in the next Presidential election! Gilchrist & The Minute Men vs. OBAMA! Take back the reins of power to put and end to this scary immigration thing! Common, I'm sure it would be a landslide victory, for someone at least? (:
Is illegal immigration America's fault? Who is responsible for it?
I am against illegal immigration but I do not hate mexicans or anything, I think they should do it legally though. My question is, why do people criticize, blame and hate on illegal immigrants when AMERICAN employers are the ones hiring them? EVERY illegal immigrant comes with the hopes of making a better life. They come here to work and get paid very low wages for a huge amount f working hours in order to get a better life. I disagree with their way of thinking but shouldn't we blame American citizens who hire them illegally? I mean without them they wouldn't have a reason to come here in the first place, there would be no "chance" of getting a better life. Why isn't the government focusing more on regulating American Employers and Industries so there is a lesser chance of illegal hiring?? rather than making the country hate on illegal and ignorant immigrants who just do what their fathers, uncles, cousins and grandparents did before?
What happens with illegal immigrants when the REAL ID goes into full effect in 2020?
I know they are strict because when my mother applied for one she had to get a name change because of it. She used a different name from her birth certificate for 60+ years. They said nope, got to get it legally changed. It cost $750. So how will a dreamer fair, if my mother born in the US (on birth certificate )got dinged after 60+ years. They didn't care she used her name since she was little.
If the US government sent 1 million soldiers to the border of Mexico to stop illegal immigration, what will happen?
Two things.Many Americans would get out their calculators and try to guess how many billions of taxpayers’ dollars it is costing them.People who want to come into the United States and think the Mexican border crossing is too risky will come in one of the hundreds of other ways open to them.Note: On top of that lots and lots of Republican legislators would lose their next election—for stupidity and incompetence.
How do you get rid of illegal immigration?
I keep hearing that you are after illegals. Do you have any idea what the policy implications would be. You can beef up boarder security, but how do you find the illegal aliens that are already here. It would be impossible, or just as expensive as the war on drugs and we all know how thats going. Are we gonna have commercials. "Illegal immigration Kills". Yeah, Nancy (Reagan) can sponsor it. Its a shock to me also that you tight wad Republicans want to spend the kind of money it would take to get rid of illegal aliens, but dont mind cutting social security benefits. You have some very twisted priorities.
