Quotes on Macbeth wanting to kill Duncan?

Act I, Scene III

"Cannot be ill, cannot be good: if ill,
Why hath it given me earnest of success,
Commencing in a truth? I am thane of Cawdor:
If good, why do I yield to that suggestion
Whose horrid image doth unfix my hair
And make my seated heart knock at my ribs,
Against the use of nature? Present fears
Are less than horrible imaginings:
My thought, whose murder yet is but fantastical,
Shakes so my single state of man that function
Is smother'd in surmise, and nothing is
But what is not."

^ He is referring to the mental image/idea of killing Duncan, which at first he does not wish to do. He's saying, if he's so good, why does he even think about such an action? I could further elaborate if you like.

Act I, Scene III

"Stars, hide your fires, Let not light see my black and deep desires."

He is trying to hide his emotions and also his desire to actually kill Duncan, as well as to become king by any means possible.

Why does shakespeare have the murder of king duncan take place off stage in macbeth?

Well, the murder would have to take place offstage because they kill him while he is sleeping, and it wouldn't exactly be practical to have a bed on stage to only use it for one scene. Also, the focus is supposed to be on Macbeth and Lady Macbeth and what they are going through and the consequences of their deed rather than on Duncan himself. The scenes are tense because of the vivid imagery. The image of the dagger that Macbeth sees before him before committing the murder creates an air of suspense. Lady Macbeth then keeps thinking that she hears people coming when the murder is not done yet. Lady Macbeth is controlling, and they are extremely guilty afterwards as shown by the symbolic "blood on their hands" that, as Lady Macbeth puts it in her sleep talking, "all the perfumes of Arabia will not sweaten this little hand." And I think guilt and conscience go hand in hand.

Has Tim Duncan lost respect as a class act player due to this series?

As a Suns fan I can honestly say that Duncan has let this series tarnish his image!

It is not so much him, but the dirty play by his teammates and that reflects on him and Popovich!

I have watched the game for many years and I have always respected the Spurs for their determination and versatility. David Robinson was and always will be one of the leagues most respected players - a true class act!

Tim Duncan seemed to be following in David's footsteps as far as class and greatness goes - but this series has damaged that! I have lost a great deal of respect for the team and the organization - do you think Tim knows this and understands what is happening?

No matter what Spurs fans say, you have to admit this is the dirtiest series ever!

Its a sad time for Basketball and it's sad for people who respected players like Duncan

Do you think Jason Momoa is the right actor to play Duncan Idaho in Dune film?

He could be superb and own the part forever, but to be honest my mental image of Idaho is a smaller, lean man. Less physically imposing but a Ginaz Swordmaster and immensely skilled. Physically he's described as having a dark complexion, black curley ‘goat like' hair and dark blue/green eyes (lightyears away from Lynch's version) and quite the ladies man. In my mind he has a Greek, Turkish or Kurdish appearance but I'd be looking for a smooth, almost dancer like movement (think Bruce Lee) rather than bulging muscles or physical size or a particular appearence.
