What Is A Conditioning Report In Relation To Buying A House And How Is It Different From A

My house has a single-phase power connection. I am planning to buy an air conditioner. Can a 1.5 ton machine work, or should I go for a 1 or 1.2 ton?

Single Phase connection is no problem at all. The 1.5Ton AC will also run on single phase only. The only thing you need to worry about is the sanctioned maximum load that you have for your house connection from the electricity distribution utility (This can be verified from the monthly bill). The total load of all the electrical appliances running simultaneously in your house should not exceed this value for 2 reasons: 1. You would be fined / charged extra on exceeding the sanctioned load. 2. The electrical cable supplying the power to your house is usually rated to handle this load value and there is a risk of this cable getting overheated etc.A typical rule of thumb for a 1.5Ton AC on power consumption is 2KW. Hope this helps!

Can I use regular water conditioner for my betta?

I've had my betta for a year now, and I was wondering if I could just use regular water conditioner for his tank? A small bottle of betta conditioner is $3.89, and you can get a medium bottle of regular conditioner for that much. And I was reading the back of the betta con. and it doesn't say that it adds anything extra, that is specific for bettas. :/ As long as the conditioner removes Chlorine, Chlorimine, and Ammonia, then it should be okay, right?

What can I do if my landlord won't fix my air conditioning in Oklahoma?

People should really read the statutes before they answer...

OK laws states this:

§118. Duties of landlord and tenant
3. Maintain in good and safe working order and condition all electrical, plumbing, sanitary,
heating, ventilating, air-conditioning and other facilities and appliances, including elevators, supplied
or required to be supplied by him;
http://www.ok.gov/OREC/documents/Landlor... page 7

That means that if the Landlord has supplied you with a/c, she is obligated to keep it working.

However, working order does not mean that the apartment has to be cooled to your liking. Most boxes of air only cool the air 10-15 degrees, so if you are getting 25 degrees cooling, this is very good. If you have central cooling, then how much cooling you get will depend on the efficiency of the unit.
You may have to spend your own money to see if whatever form of cooling you have is actually working correctly. If it isn't, then you tell the landlord she HAS to fix it as per state law. If it is, then you have to option to buy a box of a/c yourself.

You can also look into blackout curtains. They can drastically reduce temperature of a room that's west facing. Be sure they are a thick weave with a heavy liner. Buyer Beware, not all curtains like this are created equal. For added insulation, I also use a separate inner curtain that's almost a plastic material (from Home Depot). The room I use these items in is completely black when the curtains are drawn.

Do you haveto use a softener or conditioner to softeb polymer clay or can you just work it with your hands to?

As mentioned, the brand and even line of polymer clay you buy will differ in its natural softness (as long as it hasn't been partly cured by being stored in too much heat or UV light).

The softer polymer clays (like Sculpey III, SuperSculpey, and even more so original plain Sculpey) usually don't need additional softeners, but it can be good to do a little bit of "conditioning" even to those (which involves just kneading and rolling in your hands, or in a pasta machine) only to make sure the colorants are well mixed and all parts of the clay are evenly supple. (Craftsmart and Bakeshop are similar probably.)

The firmer polymer clays (Premo, Kato Polyclay, FimoClassic, Cernit, SuperSculpey-Firm, FimoSoft, and special ones like Ultralight, etc) will usually need more conditioning since they're not as soft when raw. BUT they are also better clays for avoiding fingerprints, not distorting, achieving fine detail, and also having strength after baking in any thin or projecting areas.

The whole process of making polymer clays supple enough to shape well is call "conditioning." But there are various ways to condition polymer clays...usually just kneading and stretching is enough (or doing that in a pasta machine), but sometimes additives are needed (like Sculpey's Clay Softener**, or Diluent, but other oily substances from around the house can be used too), or warmth will hasten the process too.
It's actually best not to use softeners unless necessary because it can weaken the structure of the clay and also make it "too" mooshy to work with well.

You can read about all the ways to condition polymer clay on this page at my site though for lots more detail on all those things:

And my answer here talks about some of the characteristics of the different brands and lines of polymer clay:

(they can also be mixed together:)

** the only thing that Sculpey Clay Softener/Diluent is actually necessary for is to thin down liquid polymer clays (like the brand "Translucent Liquid Sculpey"):

What is the ideal central air condition ton size per square feet of house?

Roughly. But it all depends......
It depends on how hot it gets where you are, what your house is insulated like, and the layout. The more exterior walls you have, and the more hot your climate, the more HVAC you'll need. But odds are, 4 tons is probably going to suffice. Mainly, the trick to getting good cooling is setting the thermostat, leaving it alone, and keeping the house closed up. Unless you live in desert conditions, you really only need to knock the temps back a few degrees on most days, it's the humidity you want to keep low and that's accomplished by keeping the house closed up.

What does air-conditioning ready mean?

I'm looking at houses online and a lot of them say, "air-conditioning ready." Some of them are completely remodeled with great new paint. To put in a new air conditioning system, would that mean I'd have to have everything repainted?
