Ladies, what is a great dinner to cook my girlfriend for her birthday?

I can get around fairly well in the kitchen if want too, I just usually prefer to order pizza or something easy. But it's my GF birthday on Sunday and I would like to make her something really special. She's not into seafood at all, and I don't want to be boring with some basic chicken dish, so I was thinking a couple of nice Filet Mignons, and a good bottle of Red, would be nice, but i don't know what else to serve it with. Anyone have any other ideas? Nothing too fancy or difficult, just something good. Also any dessert ideas? Thanks.

What desserts go well with Mexican food - especially burritos?

We're attending a pot-luck dinner tonight - the theme is Mexican food, and the main dish will be burritos.

We're supposed to bring dessert. What goes well with this type of food?

What is the fanciest dessert you have eaten?

Wedding cake.I am not a professional but I am a good baker and confident in my ability. The bride wanted a fresh cake, something special to serve 80 people. I didn't have special pans so I used what I had and made a rectangular base topped with a square and then 3 or 4 rounds with a topper the bride bought in her colors. The cake was a light, chocolate mousse. It was supposed to be filled with orange marmalade but I didn't like the way it looked so I glazed the layers with marmalade and filled them with mascarpone and ricotta cheeses, pureed orange segments and limoncello.I frosted it in buttercream, I think it took 9 lbs of butter and decorated it. I hadn't done that in quite a while, it came out well but if you looked closely you could see I got better as I went. I baked and built it the day before the wedding.I folded down the back of my VW Rabbit, put the cake in and climbed in with it to keep it safe. It was a warm October day and the frosting was getting soft. I was very relieved when we got to the restaurant and the staff put it on a cart and rolled it into the walk in cooler.I brought a bag of extra frosting for repairs but didn't need it. The bride was happy and no cake was left over.

Bake until the nuts are lightly toasted, 6 to 8 minutes. Cool completely.Put the butter and chocolate in a heatproof medium bowl and place the bowl over a pan of barely simmering water. Stir until the chocolate has melted and the mixture is smooth, about 6 minutes. Stir in the coffee until smooth. Add the almonds, walnuts, biscotti pieces and orange zest, and stir until combined. Cover the bowl and refrigerate until firm but moldable, 1 1/2 to 2 hours.Divide the chocolate mixture in half. Place half of the mixture in the center of an 18-inch-long piece of plastic wrap. Using a spatula, form the mixture into a log, about 7 inches long and 2 inches in diameter. Roll up the log in the plastic and twist the ends to seal. Roll back and forth on a work surface a few times to make the log evenly round. Repeat with the remaining chocolate mixture. Refrigerate the logs until firm, about 1 hour.Spread the confectioners' sugar on a dinner plate. Remove the plastic wrap from the logs, then roll them in the sugar until coated. Using a pastry brush, brush away the excess sugar. Let the logs sit at room temperature for 15 minutes. Using a sharp serrated knife, cut the logs into 1/2-inch-thick slices and serve.Cook's Note: The dessert can be frozen for up to 1 month. Thaw at room temperature for 25 minutes before slicing.Source:Chocolate Dessert Salami : Giada De Laurentiis : Food Network for Dessert check android Food recipes
