What Is A Good Forum To Discuss Misleading Advertising

What are good examples of misleading statistics?

Nearly every crime statistic ever reported in the news is misleading. Most crimes have a very low incidence of occurrence, therefore, the variation as a percentage tends to be very high and this is often used to sensationalize news and scare people into spending money where they don't need to.  For example, in a smaller community murders will be rare.  So, if 1 happened the first year, then 2 happened the next year, the murder rate would be likely to be reported as increasing 100%!  The inverse is true as well.  If the number of murders went from 2 to 1, then the murder rate was cut by half!  Sensationalized crime statistics are used to attract viewers to the news and fund programs that may not be helpful to the larger population or justify continued spending that may not be warranted or effective. Also, most crimes are under reported, so one would expect the crime rate to appear to increase in positive circumstances such as people receiving education about crimes or increasing trust in the police.  When I was working with rape prevention education and domestic violence program evaluations, I always emphasized that if their programs worked, it would initially look like the crime rate was going up, not down, because more people would be willing to report the crimes.

Is it illegal if you dont remove posts from forums when you already sold your product?

Not illegal, unless you word it as though the product will always be available when it won't (so deliberately misleading).

Think of it like newspaper adverts - if you look at last weeks paper, you would consider yourself lucky if an item you wanted from an old small ad had not been sold, but it it were a retailers advert, you would expect it to still be valid.

It's down to the context of the ad and how you phase it.
If it's a trade ad or implying a product is available, you should cancel it.
An advert for a single item for sale is like a small ad - readers expect it to be sold after a while.

What Is Website Spam and/or Misleading or repeated words ?

What you've done is very good and you're not going to get 'penalized' in the search engine rankings.

Search engine algorithms are very complicated and huge resources go into developing them so that they are as human like as possible in determining what is and what isn't a genuine site.

Your Index page is very important as this is the door to your site and it's worth spending some time getting it right. Include within the text all the key phrases that people may use when searching for a site like yours. If it's an art site then include art, artists, artworks, art works, works of art etc. Think of related words such as illustrations, drawings, paintings, pictures, impressionism, cubist, and include these. There's no harm in effectively having a list of contents on your index page - this is a good way to include many keywords.

There's many aspects to search engine optimization and some of my previous answers have addressed these... http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?... you should find some helpful tips.

Can i sue chipolte for feeding me pork?

No. The law is that nutrition information needs to be provided by the company and Chipotle's website clearly states that vegetarians should avoid their pinto beans:

"You should avoid our pinto beans (they are cooked with a small amount of bacon) and our meats. Our cheese is made with a vegetable-based rennet, and our sour cream is 100% cultured cream. If your own personal vegetarian guidelines therefore allow you to eat these dairy items, then that's terrific. If not, then you should avoid them. Please note this information is different for those who choose a vegan diet."

Ask a bunch of vegetarians/vegans online to send emails to Chipotle asking them to clearly label their pinto beans as containing pork. I went ahead and sent them an email asking them to label these in-store.
