What Is A Good Reason For Quitting A Job I Just Started And Only Been There For Two Weeks On A Job

How to quit a fast food job if you just started?

The best way to leave a job you just started is to tell the manager you got another offer at a job you prefer. It's believable because when you apply for jobs you tend to apply at several places. You will not owe them two weeks and they would probably rather just you left that day.
This work on all jobs not just fast food. I've seen people quit after a few days saying that the got a job offer closer to home, more money, better hours, etc. In every case they were asked to leave the same day.
BTW you don't have to say where your working, and don't give too much info on your new job or it will sound like a lie. But think ahead of what you will say if they ask.
Also, don't plan at working at that fast food place again.

How to quit a job I just started?

Ok this might be a little long because I do want to provide full detail so I can get a good and justified response.
I graduated from college with a Bachelor's in Clinical Lab sciences and have been trying desperately to get a job in a pharmaceutical field. So I got an offer to work as a day porter (nicer way of saying janitor) in a pharmaceutical company and accepted it because I was desperate and thought this could be my way of getting my foot in the door.
About a week into my new job, I got a call for an interview with a chemical company to be their chemistry lab technician which lines up perfectly with what I had studied.
I don't have the interview yet til tomorrow and even then I'm not sure when or if they'd hire me. But hypothetically they do hire me, how can I quit my current job even though I just started a little over a week ago? Do I mention I got another offer, or I just use other reasons for quitting?
Reasons for justification: I'm currently still in training and won't be starting real work in my current job til May. My current job is kind of far at 40 minutes but traffic can easily bring it up to 50-60 minutes whereas this new place is only a 20 minute drive. This job only pays me $12-13 per hour but is a full time job whereas the new job would give me $15 for part time (which I don't mind at all).

This is my real first job kind of in my field out of college. And I don't want to be rude or anything; just want to part ways on good terms. Thanks guys!

Quitting a job after 3 weeks?

Don't stay if you hate it. Life is too short to be miserable at a job. You say you don't like who you've become since you started. Imagine the you that you'll be after several years of being there. As soon as you've got another job lined up, put in your two weeks and leave. When they want to know why, just be honest and tell them that it isn't what you thought it would be.

What’s the soonest after starting a job that you quit?

Short answer: after 10 or 11 weeks.A retail job (subject of another post). I’d been there for 2 months and two weeks when the manager called me in. I had to start picking up the pace, really making a dramatic turn-around improvement, etc., etc. With my probation due in just two weeks, he would give me just one more week and if he saw dramatic improvement, he’d let me stay for the final week of probation and decide then if I kept my job.It was part time (12 hours a week) and I’d already been given a heads up by a colleague. They wanted to get the assistant manager’s new girlfriend in, but they could do that only if they got rid of me. So knowing my likely fate, I shocked the manager by saying I resigned immediately and this was my two weeks’ notice. He told me to leave immediately and that I was banned from the store for life (due to my negative and totally lazy attitude). Not only was I banned as an employee but also as a customer. If I ever walked in, it would be assumed that it was to create trouble and the police would be called immediately.

How do I quit my job after working there for only 3 weeks?

For whatever reason you are quitting do so in an honorable fashion. Do not burn bridges. I have known people who have quit and cussed out the entire place. That gave them momentarily joy but over the long run it probably hurt them when it came time to find another job. Just leave quickly and quietly, thanking them for the job.Depending on the situation, offer to train your replacement or to stay until a replacement is found. If that is not possible quit as soon as possible. There is no good reason to stay unless the job you are doing is essential to the company. Do not, if at all possible, leave them in a lurch. I have had employees quit unexpectedly on me without a good reason and I can tell you when their next employers called me about their employment with our company I was not dishonest.

How do I quit a Subway job I just started? I’ve only worked 2 days of “training” and I’m over it and I don’t want to give a two weeks notice. I want to quit now. I really need help. What should I do?

If you really want to quit then go and talk to your manager/trainer in person and let them know your concern and reason. Don’t feel shy or embarrassed to face them, all of us face such situation where we take a job and realize the job/environment is uncomfortable and doesn’t meet our expectations. On a separate note if you hold on to your job, continue with training, work for couple of weeks and then quit you will become stronger and bolder and it will help you later in your life. It will give you immense strength and confidence to take any challenges in your life. We learn the most during our hardest times.

What is the best way to leave a job you just started?

These things happen - job hunting usually means applying widely and it's unfortunate that you had taken this job, but clearly you didn't think the 'dream job' would call.  I would question though why it's taken them 6 months to get back to you.  Did they initially tell you that you didn't get it or did you not here for half a year, which suggests a lack of professionalism in the company. If all that seems okay, be completely up front and don't put it off or wait around.  If you've only been in the job for a couple of weeks they may be able to go to their second choice without going through the whole recruitment process.  Don't say anything about your experience with them being poor - just explain that the other offer was one you applied to 6 months ago and had given up on, but that for whatever reasons it's the best opportunity for your career. As Murray says, you do need to accept your reputation will be tarnished with your current company for a few years regardless of how you go about it.

Quitting a job after 1 month?

I am only a high schooler, and this is my first job that I absolutely despise. I get sick going and cry almost every day about it. Still, I am generally I good person and I feel bad quitting after only 3wks/1mo. I have no idea how to go about this, it is only a job in food. My boss scheduled me for 23 hrs next week (only signed up for 15hrs/wk), and I don't know if I can stand working those. Anyone have words of wisdom on quitting? Should I stick out this last week? I feel bad leaving them one man short for 23 hrs. Also, after I quit, is it really awkward finishing up your schedule? any advice/personal stories is super helpful!
